Not a good experience.   We realized after the work was completed the leak was never fixed because we found water in our basement wall.  This leak ruined the dry wall and the paneling.  We sent a letter to the coompany and they never acknowledged it nor did they call.
We called Ebel plumbing to fix the valve.  They confirmed that a faulty valve with a hairline split was the problem.  Ebel fixed it in a very short time.

It didn't go well at all.  The gentlemen fumbled around with the cartridges for approximately 2 hours and charged me nearly $500 for something that took me only a half-hour to do.  Ultimately, I am very disappointed with the price and the service from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

Old toilet overflowed, it was due to some downstream piping issues.  The clog was snaked and scoped and toilet was replaced by a new one that I had purchased.  Plumbers themselves were knowledgable and professional.  However I feel that their price was high.  Estimate for future work turned to be about 3x more than what I spent with another company.

"This customer we did not service .and we do not have in our data base..i believe you have us mixed up with the Ben franklin in chardon ohio..we are 2 seperate franchises .."

The work they did was fine, but they tore my screen door while caring their supplies into the house. When I called the owner he was very rude and sassy, accusing me of trying to get the plumbing job done for free. I would not use them again because of their very poor customer service.

One thing they say in their contract is that if you're unhappy, you don't have to pay. They also say for every minute they're late they will take $5 off. He showed up more than three hours late. Then when he was half way through he said he under estimated by a lot and would need a lot more money. He also said he was not responsible for any damages he made during the job. He tore my place up completely. He went and got epoxy and applied it and then tried to charge me more than what he had said it would cost. I said I would write him a check and he said he would take cash only. I gave him the cash and asked for a receipt, which he refused to give me. He also threatened to go and tear the epoxy out if I didn't give him the cash. I called Benjamin Franklin yesterday to complain and they told me that he had quit. When he came and did the work for us he was in a Benjamin Franklin box truck. They said he had been with them for 4 weeks and they have had many complaints. I was wondering why they kept him around for so long in the first place. I am now waiting to hear back from them on how to handle the situation from here. Matthew was very physically abusive and the neighbors and tenants could hear him yelling. He was discussing prices and other business in front of the tenant which I asked him not to, and he repeatedly did so. David, who I spoke to at Benjamin Franklin, said that Matthew has gone from job to job, so they were well aware that he was a problem.
Response from Invisible Excavations Plumbing and Drain

"David spoke with customer and we offered to send out a more experienced plumber who would treat him with respect and get the job done. As for Matt he was terminated emediately. We take pride in our company and we try and hire good working people who will treat our customers with respect and give them a well done job.It was unfortuate that this happened..we are sorry for this experience that took place. Please do not hold this bad experience against us. We would like to service you in the future for all of your plumbing needs."

They came on time. I don't think they were meticulous about cleanup, but it was OK. They fixed it, but when they put it back there was a dark spot left on the linoleum. It was an emergency, and on the weekend, so I was OK with it.

On 3//08/12 I called Invisible Excavation and spoke with Briann McDermott. He quoted me $299 to run a camera a camera through my drain pipe to see if he could find the stoppage. I sounded expensive but I didn't like the idea of digging up my yard so I made an appointment for Wednesday morning 3/14/12. On the 9th Brian called and said he couldn't make it on Wednesday morning so we changed the appointment to Thursday morning 3/15/12. On Thursday morning Brian did not show up so at 11:30 am, I called and got voice mail. I said that I had taken a morning off work and I wanted to know the status of our appointment. I waited the rest of the day and no Brian and no call back. I received no call on Friday. From a reputable business I would expect a phone call and an apology and explanation ? I got nothing. When I got no call on Friday I just assumed they didn?t want my business and I began looking for a new vendor. On Monday 3/19/12 I received voicemail from Lori from Invisible Excavation 216-882-2020. The message stated that she understood they had missed an appointment and would I call back to reschedule ? no apology just did I want to reschedule. I ignored the call but Lori called back and left another voicemail on my cell phone this time so I called her back and explained that I had missed a day?s work and had not received so much as a phone call from Brian, let alone an apology and that I would not be missing another day?s work. I feel that a vendor who does not respect my time deserves neither my respect or my time.

I was given this company directly from Permaliner.  He assessed it would be about 72 plus feet.  His original price was over $11,000 but he gave me a senior discount and charged a little over $10,000.  All the other companies said they would need to cut a hole in the basement floor to access the pipe.  This gentleman was able to do everything throughout the process as easy as possible and made sure that there was no digging.  He took even more off the end price because he was able to do the work without digging.

They installed a Permaliner lining instead of trenching for 82 feet from the house to the street.  Everyone else wanted to cut up my entire yard, my new driveway and cost me an arm and leg.  He did so much more than the others were going to do.  He was so knowledgeable and did things that helped me not only save money and did the work so that I would not have any additional problems.  I have a 50 year, transferrable warranty where the only other warranties that were offered had 5 year and 15 year.  He showed me the video after the pipes were done and they are so smooth and will keep the roots out.

They were clean, immaculate, easy to work with, kept the cost down and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process.  They were able to come to my home 3 hours after I signed the contract and started to set up the equipment.  They were done setting up 9:30 p.m. and came back to start the job at 6:30 a.m.  They were completed with the job at 2:00 p.m.  I can't say enough great things about them.

I didn?t like the job done. I didn?t like the set up that they had. They had something put up for future reference. They acted very differently than most plumbing services. We just paid for the service and that?s the end of it. They had some kind of a deal where you pay extra and you get some things afterwards. I don?t remember exactly what it was but I wasn?t too thrilled with their offer. I forget their approach but it?s different from other plumbing companies where you just come and do the job, and you get paid and leave. I forget what it was, but I was not pleased with their approach. I like people who come and do the job, get paid and move on. I don?t like it when they try to hang in there for another job. It was some kind of work or program which I didn?t like. I can?t tell you what it is because it?s a year and a half ago. I never called them back. I would not use their services again in the future.

"I am sorry you did not like our set up ..We strive for customer service and we try and make all customers happy. The price book is a way of giving the customer all of there options."

I needed someone on Christmas night and they were the only people that responded out of all the people I called. They were very professional and it took them until 3:30 in the morning. So far everything is fine. The price was a little high but it was Christmas night.

My kitchen faucet was dripping, I called day in advance to schedule an appt (not an emergency). - they have 4 price levels just to come in and give you an estimate- 8/4/1- hour window - just to give you one hour window for their visit they charged $99.00 (called express) rate. Technician (Andy) was prompt (8:40 AM) gave an estimate of $396 within 5 minutes of arriving to repair dripping faucet, that included additional $97.00 to pick up the part because he did not have the part in his truck. I refused the service because what I thought was very high price ,paid their $99 service call fee. Their technician was vehemently defending their pricing, that they are the most reasonable in our area. I find it hard to believe that almost $400 for such a small repair is reasonable. I had a coupon for $37.00 which I was told cannot be used towards their service call fee. I will not use this company again.
