Hurst Design Build Remodeling
About us
When Pat and Dan Hurst founded Hurst Design-Build Remodel in 1997, they set out with a simple goal: to be the best home remodeler in the Cleveland area. To achieve their goal, the brothers knew that quality, creativity and client care were the keys to success. “Is there a better way to do this?” became their guiding principle. Even today, they are constantly seeking ways to improve Hurst’s level of quality from top to bottom. When adding members to their team, the Hursts followed the same principle, ensuring that every new member had the same drive. Together, the entire Hurst team has developed a set of core values that maintain Dan and Pat’s pursuit of excellence: Be passionate and determined Pursue excellence in all we do Be creative and innovative Build open and honest relationships Deliver exceptional service Build a positive team and family spirit By following these principles, Hurst’s award-winning team has helped hundreds of Northeast Ohio homeowners love their homes again, while becoming known for its high standards and earning peer recognition as an industry leader. 15 employees. They have been responsive, respectful, dependable, and professional. Our project manager has kept us informed at every step of this process.
10 weeks is a long time for your life to be disrupted by a remodeling project of this size. The finish date was expanded by one week due to the changes we added.
The remodel looks amazing. We are very happy and recommend this firm without hesitation.
They have done a lot of work for us including building an upstairs in our house that is worth $35,000. We had a nice relationship with this project that lasted for two or three months, so we again used their service. We were really impressed with their workmanship, their cleanliness, and their professionalism. They are always a little bit more expensive than others. It was one of those situations where I wanted to have somebody good to do the job instead of somebody who is inexpensive because we were having a rat and water and stuff coming in through this door that was only two years old. I would strongly recommend them to other members also. They can do anything. They have also repaired windows in the same kitchen remodeling. The windows were installed badly and they were already leaking down in to our ceiling and stuff like that, so they tore out what the other contractor had done and did it properly. We have not had any problems since then. I would use their service in the future too.
"THIS WARRANTY WORK WAS COMPLETED ON OCTOBER 9TH, 2003 TO THE OWNERS SATISFACTION. AFTER THE INSPECTIONS OF THE ROOF, HURST CONSTRUCTION FELT IT WAS BEST TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ROOF COVERING INSTEAD OF REPAIRING. THE FLAT ROOF WAS REPLACED IN IT'S ENTIRETY. BELOW IS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE REPORT AND REPLACEMENT WORK. WARRANTY REPORT: THE ROOF DURING THE WINTER MONTHS WOULD LEAK DUE TO ICE BACK UP. THE LAPPING SEAMS WERE TAKING WATER DUE TO ICE BACK UP. WATER STAINING WAS FOUND ON THE INTERIOR CEILING ON THE SECOND FLOOR REAR BEDROOMS DUE TO LEAKING. LEAKING WAS REPORTED TO WINTERS IN A ROW DURING THE TIME OF ICE BACK UP. CORRECTIVE MEASURES COVERED UNDER HURST WARRANTY: THE ROOF WAS REMOVED TO THE WOOD DECKING AND FOUND SOME WATER STAINING AND RUSTY NAILS. WE REPLACED 2 ½ SHEETS OF ½” CDX PLYWOOD. THE SHEETS THAT WERE REPLACED WERE NOT DAMAGED FROM WATER, BUT WERE DAMAGED FROM WARPING AND DELAMINATING OF THE PLYWOOD. WE FOUND THE ROOF AREA TO NOT BE VENTILATED. THE INSULATION AND FRAMING APPEARED TO BE IN GOOD CONDITION. THE INSTALLATION OF THE ROOF COVERING IS AS FOLLOWS: GAF WEATHER WATCH ICE AND WATER SHIELD ON THE ENTIRE CLEAN ROOF DECK, 75 POUND BASE SHEET FASTENED WITH STEEL SIMPLEX NAILS, HEAVY GAUGE BROWN ALUMINUM DRIP EDGE ON THE PERIMETER, GAF RUBBEROID SMOOTH TORCH DOWN INSTALLED WITH 8” LAP SEAMS OPPOSED TO 3” NORMALLY, CHIMNEY FLASHING IS ALUMINUM GRIND OUT MORTAR JOINT AND INSTALL FLASHING WITH CURB STYLE ROOFING MEMBRANE UP THE CHIMNEY WALL."
