When Pat and Dan Hurst founded Hurst Design-Build Remodel in 1997, they set out with a simple goal: to be the best home remodeler in the Cleveland area. To achieve their goal, the brothers knew that quality, creativity and client care were the keys to success. “Is there a better way to do this?” became their guiding principle. Even today, they are constantly seeking ways to improve Hurst’s level of quality from top to bottom. When adding members to their team, the Hursts followed the same principle, ensuring that every new member had the same drive. Together, the entire Hurst team has developed a set of core values that maintain Dan and Pat’s pursuit of excellence: Be passionate and determined Pursue excellence in all we do Be creative and innovative Build open and honest relationships Deliver exceptional service Build a positive team and family spirit By following these principles, Hurst’s award-winning team has helped hundreds of Northeast Ohio homeowners love their homes again, while becoming known for its high standards and earning peer recognition as an industry leader. 15 employees. We actually did not contract them. I did talk to them and they were very professional. They put some good ideas out there, but we didn't contract them to do any work. They did an initial inspection and kind of a quote for some construction that we currently is going on. Pat Hurst is the gentleman we dealt with exclusively. Very professional. very nice guy, very courteous, just the work was a little to large for us, and we just found a cheaper alternative. The work they did for us was top notch. They just did the drawings. We did pay them an initial consulting inspection fee, so they actually did do, I guess we did contract them to do some design work. If something came up, I would consult with them.
"We did not perform any work at this property and responded to a request only. The customer inquired about doing a major addition and remodel at his property, he provided us with preliminary plans with a stated project budget of $60,000 to $65,000. The size of the addition is approximately 550 square feet with the majority of the existing first floor living spaces being altered and remodeled, which is approximately 500 square feet. We informed the customer that an appropriate budget for a project of this type would start at $125,000. We have extensive experience with all types of additions and remodeling projects, and perform design and consulting services for many area homeowners. It is widely recognized that adding onto a home and remodeling is not comparable in any way to the costs of new construction; however, we understand it is somewhat of a common misconception. As a professional design/build remodeling firm, we also understand that the high level of quality and service we provide, is not a financial fit for everyone, and is in no way comparable to the average builder’s services. It is normal practice and part of our process to discuss a homeowner’s budget, to ensure it aligns with the project goals in a realistic manner. This can save potential clients both time and needless aggravation as they interview contractors in the hopes to find one that matches their financial needs. We really appreciate the inquiry into our services; however, we recognize we are not a good fit for every project. We wish the customer and his family the very best in all of their future endeavors."
