"During the free estimate of the work, the owner stated that his driveway was under a written violation. We always want to be sure to satisfy the client and their needs. Our estimating staff met with the building inspector to verify that all work proposed would satisfy the violation on the driveway. There was no additional charge to the property owner for this service. The owner was very pleased with the extra steps taken and contracted for the drive to be serviced by Holland Paving. Constant contact was provided to the inspector and the property owner to ensure that all needs were being met. . Our records indicate that work was performed on 8/5/13 for the asphalt patches and that the crack fill and sealcoat was performed 8/16/13, at which time we notified the Building Department of the completions. The balance of the job was paid 9/5/13. We received a call after our season ended with a concern that the work had not been completed and we expressed our concern to not only look into the matter but to also make any corrections that may have been needed. We left several messages at the phone number on file, sent out 2 emails and mailed a letter to the PO Box on file in hopes of relaying the information that we had documented. We also contacted the city to verify that the violations had been satisfied and to be sure that his court obligations for the driveway were released from the court. A visual inspection was performed by our staff on 3/5/14 to also verify the work had been completed. We have still not been able to contact the property owner. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond the required services of contracting work for all our clients and maintaining an outstanding reputation with the building inspectors we work with."
"We at Holland Paving value all our clients’ feedback in a continuing effort to advance our skills in the asphalt and concrete industry. From contract to completion, we make every effort to accommodate every aspect of each project. In learning of this review, which came months after the completion, we did an onsite inspection of the project. Our inspection revealed an apron that is 40 sq. ft. larger then originally contracted and is at an 8 inch depth which is thicker than the original contract states. The reason we thickened the area was to prevent breakage when installing the asphalt driveway. This was done at no additional charge to the customer. We also noted that because of the narrow and busy street this apron is on, the apron needed to flair on an angle to give the best access to the driver entering the property. The crack in the walk was likely caused by the shrinkage of concrete curing during the hot weather. This is why we recommend that concrete be sprayed down with water during hot weather to slow the curing process, thus minimizing cracks from shrinkage. The finish on the concrete was consistent with a standard broom finish and we saw no flaws in the finish. All work that was performed was permitted, inspected, and approved by the local building department."
"Holland Paving prides itself in making every customer satisfied with our work. This year the Greater Cleveland area had record rainfall, June was the fifth wettest month in 250 years and rained 16 days straight, this made construction difficult to schedule. Unfortunately July 3, 2013 the manufacture had a mechanical shut down which we had no control. [removed member name] contacted us with concerns about the width of the apron after the work completed on July, 8 2013. On July 11, 2013 our representative responded at the site. It was determined that the apron was the proper size and as a courtesy we returned July 12 with new topsoil and grass seed to back fill the area at our own expense. Its a shame [removed member name] did not mention this in his report. The apron turned out beautiful and hopefully our work speaks volumes."
"This year we had a wet fall. I would recommend to anyone thinking of sealcoating your drive, to get the estimate in srping or summer and to seal no later than October. This way the leaves and colder weather are less likly to affect the product. We have 3 crews sealcoating this year and hope to put on the 4th next year, we hope that everything works out for this customer and possibly call us again in 2 to 3 years when it might be necessary to seal again."
