I found Exact Roofing through Angie's List. I read all the reviews and all seemed to agree, this company could be trusted to do the job right. After leaving a message for Gabor, he was very prompt in returning the call. He made an appointment to give an estimate, and was very prompt and professional. He did a thorough inspection of the roof and then conferenced with us about his observations and our needs. He gave us a timeline for the start of the project and the cost. Some rainy days prevented the start of the project, but Gabor kept us informed every step of the way. The job took about four days. The new roof looks wonderful...We are very happy with the finished product.

A large branch fell on the slate roof and needed repair. Shandor came over, gave estimate, and returned to do the repair as planned.He even offered to remove the large limb; however this was not necessary. He did remove several smaller ones. He returned again to repair something we had not initially seen without charge. It was a pleasure working with him.

We chose Sandor because he offered a very reasonable estimate, had great reviews here and was easy to talk to. I never felt like I was asking too many questions which, as a woman, I am often made to feel when speaking with contractors who seem to intentionally avoid lay terms. I had 4 other contractors come out to give quotes; a couple of them never got back to me and 1 failed to listen to what I was actually requesting. It was very difficult to get any to agree on what could be done. Sandor addressed all of our concerns, including those of family members who brought up additional issues at the last minute. He described everything about the job and took time to explain details as the job progressed. 15' of ridge vent was installed and holes were drilled into the beams blocking our already existing soffit vents. We belatedly noticed that the rear of the house was flat-roofed so ventilation there was not possible, and we received a $25 discount for this. Also he'd agreed to replace for free an old shingle causing a leak in the attic and while up on the roof he found about 4 others needing to be nailed down, which he took care of as well. He even ran up to Lowe's & Home Depot on lunch to try matching the exact color for the replacement. Other roofers wanted to tear off the entire south side, install ice guard (which it turns out we already have) and the whole shebang. Evidently most are not willing to do maintenance work, whereas Sandor and only 1 other guy said our roof actually has another 3-5 years remaining. The best part was the photos he took and loaded directly onto our PC before leaving. Any roofer who takes pride in his craft should be offering photos so that the customer is not left in the dark, as many of us will never see the top of our own house. Sandor is also insured and does the work himself with an assistant on the ground, which is a huge plus. Our only disappointment was that the insulation on the attic floor is now covering most of the soffit holes. He tucked it beneath the floorboards as well as possible, but recommended that we remove some of it. If you are having the same kind of work done and don't care to handle insulation yourself, make sure you discuss this detail beforehand. I decided to email Sandor and ask if he would come back him to handle that for an additional charge as it was not discussed in the original quote. He has agreed to return, promising to charge only if he spends more than an hour on it. I will definitely call again for future roof work as he did a beautiful job.

During a heavy rain storm on June 30th, the sound of water dripping on the ceiling led to an investigation in the attic and the discovery of water running down the vent stack.(Not much; the volume of rain and wind was no doubt a factor in the leak) Once I knew what the problem was, I called Mr. Varga AT ONCE! (He had done flashing and tuck pointing for me in 2008). He called me back in about 45 minutes and gave me an idea of the cost on the phone and set a date for him to be out on July 3th. While giving me the estimate, he had mentioned the costs were based in part on whether I chose the copper or aluminum vent boot. I chose the copper, based on his suggestion. (The cost difference was 50.00, the copper being the more expensive.) Mr Varga was at my house on time and after explaining what he would do and the materials he would use and asking if I'd had any further or new problems-no!-with his prior work,he went to work. At on point, he knocked on my door to explain he could not use the copper vent boot he had brought do to the fact my vent was not to standard specs. He would have to the use the aluminum version instead. It would work just as well and would be 250.00 instead of 300.00. With the new vent boot-he had to run to a home improvement store to buy one-he returned to the roof and finished the job. The work took less then 3 hours, including the run to the store.

I called Zandor for an estimate and he was over within the hour. I didnt even think to call my Insurance company and he recommended that I do. It was totally covered by Insurance. If he hadnt said that I would have paid out of pocket. They did the work while i was away and provided me with step by step pics of their work. Their work was great.

I was very pleased with exact roofing. Sandor was very honest in telling me that my roof was in fine condition and did not need to be replaced at this time. He didn't offer insulation and ventilation without roofing, so I wasn't able to go with him... but I will give him a call when my roof does need replaced. He was on time, friendly, and honest... very much appreicated! Thank you!

Very easy to work with. Able to come out within the week for an estimate. Completed work in a 2 day peroid within 2 weeks of signing estimate. Very responsive and called to let me know when they would be out. I got a few estimates on the work and Exact roofing was priced well and the most reponsive. The finished product looks great. They were able to match the replaced tiles well with the current tiles already in place. I would definitely work with them again.

I talked to Gabor at Exact Roofing. He went over to the house (the house is in Cleveland, but we live in Chicago), took photos, called me with quote, and e-mailed me a quote. Very thorough. We did not use Exact Roofing, as my husband got someone else to do the work. However, I was impressed with Gabor's follow-up. Thanks.

Although the work did not start until about 3 weeks after I received the estimate, I understood he was booked at this time of year. Called this morning and said he would do the work today or this week, and ended up doing it today. It took about 5 hours. Family business, two-man crew, very polite, did excellent job, and even added five additional slates for no additional cost which were not included in the estimate. A very pleasant experience.

It went great! Sandor is very responsive and easy to work with. He was quick to get the job done and did it professional, cleanly, and at a very competitive price. He also worked with me on the price because I am going through an economic hardship. He was very respectful of my situation and did amazing work. It's not easy to find a good slate roofer and I'm glad to have his name on file for future work.

Sandor made the fixes promptly after receiving the approval on the estimate - Same experience as I have had with his company over the last several years. I am confident when he makes a fix that it will last, He's also given me some tips on minor fixes I can do myself to save money. He's very reasonable for price per slate replaced.

They were responsive, came to provide an estimate, returned in a timely manner to do the work and were genuinely helpful.

We didn't use him because a family member of ours was going to be in town and is a roofer. Mr. Varga was professional, honest, does quality work. His standards were high and he said he would either do the work the right way or not at all. His price matched the quality of the work. We would use him again if our cousin isn't in town!

It went very well - Sandor followed up my call promptly, looked over the whole area ( we were having leaks around both chimneys) and gave me a written quote. He called to schedule the work and showed up when he said he would. We also had issues with carpenter ants in one chimney and he worked with our exterminator to take care of the issue. We continued to have a leak around one chimney and Sandor came back and worked with us to determine that the issue was the chimney top mortar condition rather than the roofing. He covered the chimney with a tarp for us until we could get the mortar re-done. He was great - recommend him highly.

I called Exact Roofing Company to replace the roof on our rental property. Sandor and his partner came and did an inspection. We received the estimate two days later. The price was right on our budget. We received a call from them one week later and they finished the job four days after the phone call. The quality of the job was outstanding, the crew was very prompt, courteous, and extremely professional. They cleaned up every day and left the job site spotless. We would highly recommend Exact Roofing Company to anyone who needs a new roof or any roof repairs.

This was the third roofer to come out and give us an estimate. The first guy said, we needed a whole new roof with new skylights($9,000), the second guy said he could put a large patch ($750), but Mr. Varga showed me where the cracks were and said I could probably do it on my own. He showed me the products in his truck that he uses (two items and a trowel), and told me to call him back if it didn't work. I bought the materials for under $20, patched the roof myself and I'm thrilled! It was no harder than frosting a cake. There hasn't been any leaking. I appreciate his honesty and would use him for future problems in a heartbeat.
