Now the really bad that made this whole experience horrible. There was some damage to my wall caused by the movers and the insurance company did not pay the claim. Initially after the drivers loaded the goods into the trucks I had to sign a document that said there was no damage. After the long process of loading I looked around very quickly and said no damage. This was the first mistake, I should have looked at every wall and every corner. If you hire these guys, please DO A COMPLETE IN DEPTH walk around do no sign anything. Then the movers left and later at night when we were eating dinner noticed a hole in the corner of one of the walls. We planned to file a claim. But with the move across the country and me essentially doing it on my own. I did not have time till I got to Seattle and got a little settled in Seattle.
After I filed the claim they sent someone to look at the damage - not sure why they bothered. Then they rejected the claim stating there was no way for them to know if I had caused the damage because I waited 2 weeks to file the claim. I explained to them why, but it did not matter. I was also particularly disappointed in the drivers. I initially thought they were great guys, but apparently they said something to the insurance folks about my friends coming to pick up more furniture. I was so saddened by their lack of integrity. I had some furniture left behind and I had talked about how I will have my friends pick it up later. But my friends came to pick it up Feb 5th. I moved January 20th. And the furniture my friends picked up was in the basement and kitchen. This damage was in the living room.
Anyway because of this I cannot recommend the company to anyone. Maybe if they do no damage they are great. But they did not treat me well, when there was damage.
'nuff said.
polite, courteous and very careful with the furniture. They got the job done and was on their way.
"Thank you for your candid response. Carney McNicholas appreciates Angie's List because its service providers are graded by the customer's they serve. However, there seems to be some miscommunication that has resulted in a subpar review. In my conversation with the customer, I did not advise that there is a rental fee for the truck in any way. The deal states that for $199 you receive two men and a truck for three labor hours-and that is what we provide. What was not covered under this deal is the travel time to and from the homes we are providing service. So, our customer is responsible to pay for the time it takes for our crew to drive from our location to the home they are moving furniture from......and the time it takes to drive back to our location from thier new home. This is a standard charge in the moving industry that every moving company charges. I thought that I explained this to Mrs. Schilling very carefully during our phone conversation. This is also the reason we set up in-home appointments (at no charge) to all of our Angie's List members before they actually move, to visually see what they are actually moving and to ensure they understand all charges associated with the move. This deal has proven to be very successful with Angie's List members. We have not had any issues with anyone else who purchased the deal with the travel time or service provided. So, just to be clear-the extra charge is not for the truck, it is for the travel to and from our customer's homes. Customer-I sincerely apologize for any miscommunication or confusion that this deal caused. We had a very pleasant phone conversation, so I did not know you were unhappy until reading this review. I still have an appointment set to visit you at your home to discuss everything in greater detail next week. I also appreciate the kind words about the customer experience with me during our phone conversation. We strive to be industry leaders in customer service, so that positive feedback means alot. I have left multiple messages for you on your home phone to try and come up with a suitable solution to your needs. We are here to serve our customers and I will explore every possible option to make sure you are satisfied. I truly believe that a simple conversation to clear things up will quickly resolve this situation. Look forward to hearing from you-Chuck"
