I replaced the heater-relay, and this solved my HE error. But - motor would not work.
I called Complete Appliance Service Inc - for $100 assessment/fix - and a tech came few days later.
I discussed details w the tech, explaining to him that I'd replaced the heater relay - but now there were no error but also no washing of the dishes.
He did the right thing - he checked water temp as I had already done - and verified water temp is OK.
He did not pull my unit out- so never really dug into it. I suppose that one does not get a tech to dig around in a unit for the mere $100.
But - he/his managers really should have had basic appliance knowledge to know my needed fix.
Clue: My dishwasher 'was' able to pump water out, but a 'dead motor' humm is all that occurred in the wash cycle.
Central point: Most dishwashers motors function by the same mechanism - a very basic point that CAS/any tech should know: The motor direction and speed is varied - by voltage and polarity being varied - and a $19 capacitor (C61-P2) was all I needed. Same for Whirlpool, Samsung, others,....
I, as a laymen figured this out on the internet - replaced the part - and all good.
Down $100 - but save total replacement cost of unit.
The tech was decent enough- was willing to note brands that seem less error prone, etc.
Maybe its is management's fault.
"I checked our service records by address and last name. We have never done a service call at [Member Information Removed] Independence for a [Member Name Removed]. I think [Member Name Removed] has identified the wrong service company. If we were the company and we made the wrong diagnosis we would be glad to discuss the issue. I believe [Member Name Removed] needs to provide a receipt that shows which company was actually at her home. We would appreciate a retraction of this negative review unless the repair was done at a different address than shown above and we could then check further. My computer show we were not the company she is upset with."
I made an appointment with this company for running some diagnosis on my refrigerator. I was told that the technicians would come between 1:00 pm-4:00 pm on the day of the appointment. However, no one showed up after 4:30 pm. After I called them again, finally two technicians arrived around 5:00 pm. One of the technicians has tattoos all around his arm and is very rude, the other guy seems to okay. Without doing any diagnose and just based on the fact that the refrigerator is 10 years old and there is a weird sound coming from the refrigerator, the guy with tattoos told me that there is no need to fix the refrigerator and said that I should get a new one. Then he started to write me an invoice and asked me to pay $100 for their visit. This is ridiculous!! NO diagnose was performed and they have been in my place for LESS than 5 minutes. The charge is $100 !!! This does not make sense. Later on, I found out that for regular hour service fee for a visit is around $50 from other local companies, and only the emergence call/off-hour fee is $99. So definitely the fee from this company is over-charged!
And what happened afterwards made me think this company is wicked. The next day we bought a new refrigerator from Lowe's. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and when we plugged in the power, the old refrigerator started to work even though there is some strange sound (probably this is normal for an old compressor). So I called this company and asked for the refund, what the owner said is that their technicians only guaranteed that the refrigerator was broken in my kitchen, and when the refrigerator was moved, things could happen. Not only the owner did not refund my service fee, but also is very rude. UNBELIEVABLE!!
Without any professional diagnose and charging $100 when the technicians clearly made wrong judgement, I cannot believe company with such notorious service exist!
"We answered this complaint in detail on the BBB website. This customer is a person non grata in our store. We finally had to tell him to leave or we were going to call the police. If you read his comments he does not deny the unit was not cooling when we got there. He also does not mention that we had a technician and a trainee there, both if whom confirmed the compressor was growling when it tried to start. The compressor would not start. At the time were there it was a no cool. When a refrigerator is moved it can temporally work but it will not last, especially on a unit that is fourteen years old. The short and long of the story is this. He called because the refrigerator was not cooling, it was not cooling at the time were there and it was not cooling after we left because he went out to buy a new refrigerator."
This morning I found addresses for a couple of laundromats. I also called a couple of people to see if I could use their washer, but no one was home. Meanwhile, I looked in the phone book for a washer repair service, and called the phone number under Kenmore (the brand of our 15-year-old washer). The woman who answered was very pleasant. She asked when I would like them to come, so I said, "Either today or July 28." She put me on hold for a few minutes. Then I was connected to a repairman. He said he would be at my house between 10:00-12:00.
I thanked him profusely. And at 11:00, Patrick showed up. I told him the problem. Patrick removed part of the top of the washer and said that a switch was broken. He got right to work, made the repairs, and drove away in a cloud of dust. (Our street is torn up so that the city can replace a water main). It was like a visit from the Lone Ranger.
That afternoon, I did 2 loads of laundry, and the machine worked like it always did before.
have no fix, learn nothing, and to waste our time cleaning out the fridge so he would hopefully work on it, which he was not equipped to do.
"The technician had everything to repair the refrigerator but R-12 which he should of had since R12 was listed on the call along with a number of other parts. Sadly his leak detector was not working and he did not know it till he was on the job. He found the unit had four pounds suction on the low side and suggested we return with R-12 and a leak detector. He did not suggest the unit needed a compressor or even an evaporator but he did know the Freon was low. Mr. [Members Name] was going to price new unit and let us know. We came with the full intention and time allowed to do the repair. [Members Name] could have called back but he chose another servicer. I am not sure why he did not just call us back to reschedule unless he lost confidence in us. We have only serviced the unit several time and it had been five years since we service the unit. The unit is over thirty yeas old and it is at an age where anything can go wrong. I am sure if we had returned with a Freon leak detector we would have found the leak"
"The technician blew out the drain of the freezer. To do this he had pull out the pull out drawers that covered the drain. He did not notice that the wheel was missing or had come loose. The wheel is secured to the pull out drawer by a screw and a bushing. The technician did not take the drawer apart but simply pulled the drawer out from inside the freezer. The drawer slides on rollers. I suspect the roller was already missing or came off after we left. This repair was completed on 4-17-15. We received a call from [Member's name removed] on 4-23-15 and he reported that the roller was missing.. We stopped out on 4-29-15 and found the roller missing. We then ordered the roller, the screw and the busing. We told [Member's name removed] we would charge him $39.50 labor to install plus the parts. We ordered the parts from the home and received on 4-30-15. [Member's name removed] seemed to think we were going to charge him a service call all over again so he went out and bought the parts on his own. He was not charged for the return visit and the money he paid for the roller, bushing, and screw was refunded to him."
First I had a leak of the water tubing and frosting issues. Technician came out, gave me a quote, I agreed. Tech came back twice to take a look at the part!?!?! I had to take off time from work just so he could come in and see if part fits. Than they scheduled an actual service date, I took time off so I could be home but they never showed up and they they call me to reschedule. Very unprofessional. When the tech finally showed up and did the job, completed the paperwork with pricing, all signed and done. Couple days later the owner of the company calls me and tells me that I owe them more money because technician should've charged me more. When I refused to pay additional charges (over a hundred dollars!!!) owner treated me very rude, started yelling and threatened me in an aggressive manner.
Please save yourself time and money. This company is not worth your consideration. Prices outrageous as well. Would not recommend them!
"If any other service company services this customer please make him pay ahead before you go to his house. He refused to pay for the service call of $99.95 after the service call was explained to him before we came out to his home. He used the F.... word with me after I told him he still owed us a service call. This man is on our preferred list: We prefer he call someone and bring his abuse manners elsewhere. We will never service him again and I feel sorry for anyone who does service for him"
I called Lowes warranty department to deal with the problem and an appointment was scheduled for 2/24. The same technician arrived and after a few minutes, and a phone call told me he did not have the right hose and would have to order another one. I told him his excuses were not my problem and that the service was unacceptable. He said, "well I can understand you are upset". I asked if he would be back on the 25th. to fix the washer and he said no, I would get a call to reschedule.
I called Lowes warranty department and they were not much help either, they would expedite the case to a specialist, but they still would give Complete Appliance five business days to get the part.
I called the Lowes store and talked to the sales person who takes care of us and he made arraignments to have another provider come and fix it.
So, I would not have Complete Appliance work on anything, if they can't even get a simple hose replacement right, what would they do for something complicated? I believe they are totally incompetent.
Repair took about 1 hour. Charged for each: part, labor and travel.
Travel charge seemed high.
Did not give Senior discount as advertised.
Did not provide invoice at completion. he said it would be mailed out.
I had to call later to get a copy.
