A-1 Affordable Plumbing

Since we have a home warranty, we had to go with a company selected for us. After recently reading the article in the Angie's List magazine, I was concerned about what to expect.
The plumber who was assigned to us was right on time, was extremely friendly...greeted our mini dachshund, our two young sons, did his job, didn't leave a mess, and problem solved.
We were extremely pleased with his promptness, his attitude, and his work.

I have a home warranty and they were recommended to me to fix my sump pump. I spent $75 on that work. I will be using him to install a back-up sump pump. They were punctual and professional. He answered all my questions and he was very helpful. They were responsive.

They taught me a few things and brought things up to code. I thought the price was fine. They picked up all the stuff, there was a lot of water that over flowed onto the floor and it had a reddish tint. I do have a few spots on my basement floor that are reddish, but I don't care about that. They didn't break anything, etc. The two guys where nice and chatted with me a bit, they seemed to know what they were doing.

They were great, I really liked them. He was very friendly, knowledgable and took time to explain the detail to me which I appreciated.

It was great. They were nice. It was affordable. There were no problems at all. The price was covered by our warranty. The price listed was for the deductible.

Went very well. Professional, thorough, kept me informed throughout the process.

It must have been loose around the floor, because water was dripping into the basement. They did give me a $20 Angie's List rebate.

They were wonderful and did a great job.

I have used them in the past, as recommended by home warranty company (HMS). I requested them this time because of satisfaction with a prior service call. They responded to my initial phone call within 24 hours (I called on a Saturday and they called me back on Sunday) and scheduled a mutually beneficial time 2 days later. I requested that they come after 1:00 pm, and they called me at 1:15 and were at my house at 1:30. Rather then just ripping my ceiling out, they suggested that I get the grout and caulking done first, as they believe this to be the problem. They informed me that the warranty claim was good for 180 days, so if that didn't fix the problem, they would come back at no additional service call deductible to do more extensive work. I will definitely use them in the future. They were prompt, courteous, and honest.

SERVICE WAS THROUGH HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, WE ONLY HAD TO PAY OUR DEDUCTABLE WHICH WAS $100. THE WARRANTY COMPANY PAID THE REST. NICE GUYS, SHOWED UP ON TIME, WERE QUICK AND EFFECIENT. WHEN THEY REPLACED THE WATER VALVES, THEY TURNED ONE ON THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON, SO WE GOT A HUGE LEAK ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER AS THEY WERE GETTING IN THEIR TRUCK. THE GUYS WORKED QUICKLY TO STOP THE LEAK BUT IT STILL RUINED OUR CARPET. THEY ORIGINALLY WERE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES, BUT AFTER SEVERAL CONVERSATIONS WITH THE OWNER, HAVE BEGUN THE PROCESS OF HAVING OUR CARPET REPLACED THOUGH THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY. THIS WAS OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH PLUMBING REPAIRS, SO WE ARE NOT SURE HOW TO RATE THE PRICES. THEY SEEMED A LITTLE HIGH FOR THE VALVES (THERE WERE 8 VALVES)IT WAS $500 FOR THE WATER HEATER AND $500 FOR THE VALVES. WERE IT NOT FOR THE PROBLEM WITH THE LEAK, THEY WOULD GET AN 'A' FOR ALL BUT PRICES.

THESE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. WHEN I TOLD THE CITY WATER AND SEWER PEOPLE ABOUT A-1, THEY SCOFFED AND TOLD ME THAT THE JOB THAT A-1 DID WAS INFERIOR AND THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE SNAKED IT FROM THE TEST T, NOT THE HOUSE.

MY HOME IS UNDER WARRANTY, SO I HAVE A $100 DECUTABLE AND I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT COST. VERY CONSCIENTIOUS. FIXED FAUCET AND FOUND IT WAS NOT QUITE RIGHT, SO HE TOOK IT APART AND FIXED IT AGAIN. OVERALL GREAT EXPERIENCE.

FROM THE TIME THEY WALKED INTO THE DOOR AND SAW WHAT THEY HAD TO DO AND GOT RIGHT TO WORK..THEY PUT TARPS AND GOT TO WORK. WHEN THEY WERE DONE THEY TOOK EVERYTHING WITH THEM. THEY ADDED IN THE SERVICE CALL INSTEAD OF KNOCKING OUT THE SERVICE CALL WHEN THE WORK WAS DONE.

THE $100 WAS THE DEDUCTIBLE. IF WE NEED MORE PLUMBING WORK IN THE FUTURE WE WILL KEEP THEM ON OUR LIST OF PEOPLE TO CALL FOR QUOTES.

SHOWED UP EXACTLY ON THE DOT. PROMPT, PLEASANT and WENT ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS QUICKLY and RETURNED PHONE CALLS, WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT.

I LEFT A MESSAGE FOR THEM ONE EVENING AND THEY RETURNED THE CALL THE NEXT DAY AND WHERE OVER THE FOLLOWING DAYS TO MAKE REPAIRS.

A-1 HAD TO RETURN FOR A SECOND VISIT DUE TO INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS/RESOLUTION OF INITIAL PROBLEM (WHICH LED TO FURTHER LEAKAGE). DURING SECOND VISIT, THE PLUMBER DISMISSED MY DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM (WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE CORRECT). THEY WERE NOT PROMPT ON ARRIVAL TIMES, AND WHEN THEY CAME DURING A SNOWSTORM, I HAD TO ASK THAT THEY REMOVE THEIR SHOES; THEY WERE OBVIOUSLY NOT PLEASED.

MISC. PLUMBING JOBS. DID WORK IN A TIMELY FASHION.

USED FOR PLUMBING WORK. THEY WORKED VERY HARD TO FINISH IN ONE DAY. EXCELLENT VALUE!

MEMBER CALLED AND THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND REPAIRED TOILET THAT WAS LEAKING INTO HER DINING ROOM. TREATED IT AS AN EMERGENCY. WERE VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL.
