TOM BARNES LAWN SERVICE

We have used this service for years, but unfortunately I can't recommend them.  They decided when to come and do the grass and the last couple of years there were long waits and long grass.  Then this spring they just didn't show up at all through the entire spring to date, although I saw their trucks out.   I had received a surprise bill in March for $500 they said I hadn't paid last year (no notice of this before), which I reviewed and thought they were probably right, and I made payment on it this same month I received it.  I can't understand why they were silent for 5 months and then this bill popped up.  That made me look at all our payments to them and discovered that with this new amount, we have paid them $1300 for lawn cutting and leaf blowing for 2010, which is higher than we had thought.  (This is not the first time I received a surprise bill:  another year they just didn't bill me for 12 months and then sent us one bill to pay them $900.)   I finally called them and a few days later Tom Barnes showed up and said he would 'resume service'!  He had actually just stopped providing service completely after 7 years, without even a phone call, letting our lawn look just terrible while we waited for him to show up.   We are not going to use this company any more.  

Over a period of about 4 days, I called 3 times and I have still received no response.

Employees showed up on the days and times I requested. Grass was cut and driveway edged also around flower beds. Grass was blown off driveway. Leaves were chopped and blown off grassy areas. Lawn looked very good and professionally done.

VERY COURTEOUS WORKERS. THEY DO AN EXCELLENT JOB.
