The Tile Shop

Just...don't. They are over-priced, sold me the wrong grout for marble, and the manager never bothered to call back.

The second time I used them, in spite of that experience, Ted (sales guy) approached myself and my mother, bringing a woman over he introduced as "his designer". He said they offer a home design visit for $100, applied to purchase if tiles bought there. I agreed and they came out the next day.

While they were at my house, they offered an additional "design package" where they selected everything...within my budget and on an approved design. I would have it within 2 weeks. They measured and did rough drawings. I made it clear I'm selling my house and had a small budget so needed to be a very inexpensive project. We agreed not to move plumbing because it would be way too expensive.

1-1/2 weeks later they called and told me they "lost my file" and had to come back out. I wasn't available until the following week. They ended up (after I had to follow up a few times to find out why there was such a delay) sending me a design that involved moving walls, plumbing, etc....which we specifically agreed NOT to do. By then a month passed already and I had nothing at all for my $450.00. I told them I wanted to cut ties because I didn't have time to keep fooling with them. Instead I got yet another drawing that also wasn't anything we discussed! Oh...and then Ted told me he would "discount" the tile $400.00...and that was supposed to "pay" for the design services I paid for and never received!?

Again I asked for a refund as the contract was to provide an acceptable design as well as samples and details of fuxtures, lights, tiles, etc. They have REFUSED to return my money and I'm filing a claim against them.

For $450.00, I got a drawing of a cabinet and 2 drawings of the room....neither reflecting anything we agreed in our first meeting.

AVOID Ted and this "designer" Christy Springer (CS Designs). Totally disorganized, clueless, and RIPOFF artists. I had to find someone else to do the job for me and I won't ever return to the Tile Shop. I will name them in my action as they allow Ted and Christy Springer to operate out of their shop and RIP PEOPLE OFF.

When we ordered our tile, we had to tell the sales woman that there was a sale. It didn't ring up automatically and she wasn't aware of the sale. We didn't check our receipt for quantity. However, when we picked up the order, we found that we had purchased 5 square feet too much. We were never told that we had to order full boxes of tile so now we have 5 extra square feet. However, we purchased tile squares that were on a sheet and were sold a partial box of that. If we had been told that up front, we probably would have ordered it anyway. It would have been nice to know that up front. Shame on us for not checking our receipt before leaving the store. Shame on the sales woman who didn't tell us that they only sold full boxes.
