We switched from TruGreen 4 or 5 years ago for service issues and constant calling and trying to upsell our account. The first year or 2 Scotts was great, then the last two years it went down hill. They virtually killed much of my front yeard by applying the wrong chemicals. Even though they admitted their mistake they did nothing to fix it. They came only when it rained to apply chemicals and said it did not matter but when we called to have them address a weed issue they ignored our calls saying they would take care of the issue the next application. Do not waste your money. Now that Scoots and TruGreen are the same company its customers will get the best of their collective bad service.

We received a notification that our Holly has lace bugs, our Rhododendron has leaf miners and our birds nest spruce has spider mites. A salesperson from Scott's named Johnathan then gave a very hard sell inwhich he explicitly warned that our plants and trees were in danger of dying due to being infested with these parasites and that we should sign up for the Tree and Shrub service. I tentatively agreed and then asked my very experienced landscaper to take a look. My landscaper (who has seen all of these parasites before) did not find any on our property and I called back to stop the service until someone from Scott's could come out and show me the problem before I would authorize treatment. Meghan at Scott's placed a hold on the service (later confirmed) and 3 days later, the service was performed today anyway and our account was billed. I spoke with Caleb who said he needed to talk with his supervisor, Rodney and would call me right back. The call never came and I called back in the late afternoon and he was gone. Another Scott's representative said that the issue was being referred to the salesperson (Johnathan) since it was his problem and that I could expect a call from Johnathan in the near future. When I noticed my account was charged, I called back and spoke with Meghan again who confirmed with Rodney that the technician who had been out to our house did not see evidence of the aforementioned parsites and explained that these were listed as potential problems that might happen if not treated. This is not what the written report says that triggered the service (the form says "current tree and shrub condition:" and Johnathan had explicitly indicated that these were active infestations). I appreciated Meghan's professionalism in not covering up any further for the salesperson's misguided hard sell and Scott's untruthful scare tactics (it was never sold as preventive care) -she ultimately did the right thing confirming with the technician that we were not infested and crediting our account for the service that was stopped three days prior.

IT'S FINE. I NOTICED THIS YEAR A DECREASE IN DANDELIONS, BUT AN INCREASE IN CRAB GRASS. I'M NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED, BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT IT TAKES A COUPLE SEASONS TO SEE FULL RESULTS.
