Dan did a fabulous job in all respects.  Scheduling the inspection was easy.  He reviewed property records before he arrived.  He got to work quickly inside the house while it rained and he monitored the weather (and had previously checked the weather forecast) so he could carefully inspect the exterior while it wasn't raining.  Despite the rain, he inspected the roof, the crawl space under the front stairs, and under the back deck.  Throughout the detailed inspection, he was happy for me to join him and he explained what he was seeing as we went.  He prepared an very helpful written report that night.  In addition, he contracted for a radon test and termite inspection with another provider. 

Beyond the inspection itself, it was a pleasure to meet Dan because he clearly takes great pride in doing excellent, professional work.  I strongly recommend him.

I called Dan Schuerman Inspections and my call was returned immediately. We initially set up the inspection for Thurs 17th but there was an issue with the gas which meant the inspection had to be rescheduled to Friday. Dan and his team were very flexible with the rescheduling.

On Friday, Dan arrived on time and was extremely professional, providing "booties" for us all. Dan explained everything he was doing. We first went outside to check everything there (gas, electric, general foundation) and then checked other extenral buildings. We went back inside and Dan checked the inside structure, all appliances, heating unit (A/C could not be checked due to regulations with cool outside temperatures), water.  Dan also provided some excellent tips on general maintenance.

The pest inspection was conducted by Mike at Superior Pest Control. He too did an excellent job and identified some minor bug issues that were just a result of the water not having been run at the condo.
 
Overall, the inspection took about 3 hours and I received the report that evening. The report explained each issue and provided pictures of the problem areas, with "arrows" pin-pointing the issue on each picture. 

I am extremely impressed with Dan Schuerman Inspections and have no hesitation recommending them to others.

Dan was recommended by our realtor.  I spoke with Dan on the phone prior to engaging him for the service.  We were buying an historic home and we wanted to ensure that we found an inspector that would be familiar with historic and new systems.  The day of the inspection Dan arrived before 8 a.m. and worked for at least 11 hours.  He inspected the interior and exteriors of the garage and dwelling.  It took him over an hour to access the roof - I would bet that most inspectors would not have even tried (3 story with a very steep pitch).  B/c of Dan's diligence we discovered that  a large part of the roof of the house was approx. 15 years older than what we thought.  Dan was thorough, knowledgeable and patient.  He took the time to explain things to us and gave us advice on how to care for the property.  I highly recommend Dan.  I feel that we got MORE THAN our moneys worth. 

Excellent service...Dan was punctual (actually already working when I arrived), very professional & a nice guy. He took the time to explain everything he found , answer any questions as well as make recommendations; he was very informative. Wow!! That is all I can say. Dan is amazing. He spent over 7 hours with us.( no our house isn't that bad) He took the time to go over everything as slow as we needed to. I felt like I got a " how to care for your home" class. During the course of the inspection he offered tips on home maintenance and upkeep. He answered all of our questions and more. He is by far the most thorough inspector we have ever worked with. When they say he went over it with a fine toothed comb they were talking about Dan. He doesnt miss anything. He also takes the time to explain what needs to be fixed now, in the near future and what  is just cosmetic.
He has a great base of knowledge. He was in construction before becoming an inspector  and I think this helps his inspections. He doesn't scare you , but he wants you to be aware of any problems that your house may have. I have absolute faith in Dan and he was well worth the money. Without a doubt if I ever needed another inspection I would call him. He also offered help if I need questions answered after we get the house and I probably will take him up on his offer. He is great to work with and  a very nice man.

Dan is a pleasure to work with. He is very helpful and easy to understand. When he is finished, you have a good understanding o fthe issues. When you get the report, you have a well documented list of issues that makes it easy to discuss isues with the seller.

He also provides a great tool for use after the inspeciton that provides automated reminders of maintenance issues to keep up on which is very convenient!

Dan is extremely thorough and really knows his stuff. There was no question I could ask that he couldn't answer, you can tell he's drawing on many years of experience both inspecting but also constructing. In addition to showing me problems he also showed many many important usage tips and tricks about maintaining the home. The last piece, the report, was really the icing on the cake. I'm not sure which software etc he uses to put the report together, but he clearly knows it really well and makes the most of it. Combine that with a plethora of photos taken through the inspection, as well as various reference diagrams he added and it was an amazingly informative and easy to understand report, even for someone who's not in the industry. All this, and all 3 reports (inspection, radon, and insects) were in my email inbox by 7pm that night. Highly Recommended!

Dan and his team did a great job. They were very professional and thorough throughout the process. Dan took the time to explain major and minor flaws with the home during the inspection. The final report was detailed, yet easy to understand, and included lots of pictures/graphics depicting areas of concern. I would highly recommend Dan for anyone interested in purchasing a new home.

The inspection was great, Dan is very knowledgable and willing to take the time to talk you through any question areas. His subcontractor for pests was knowledgable as well and friendly to deal with.
