"Mr Bostel, I appreciate your thoughts on the service you received. Customer feedback is an important tool in helping train our employees and review our practices. I do need to correct several points you call out. Reupert, like most contractors, charges a service fee to diagnose system that do not have a labor warranty. Reupert charged $98 to perform this service. The charges you claim you were quoted are not accurate. The original price was quoted at $585.00 as this is the standard pricing for those who do not have a maintenance agreement to maintain their system. The manufacturer recommends yearly maintenance on your system which is a requirement to maintain any warranty. The technician called and asked for a discount to help you out and the price was reduced to $487.00. Since you do not have a labor contract on the system you purchased you are responsible to pay for labor time to complete your part warranty. The technician must travel to the supply house and back to your home and this time is about 1.5 hours, you have the time to install the blower and test out the rest of the system entirely not just the motor that was installed about 1 to 1.5, then I have office staff that must process your warranty and return the part to the supply house (about 1 hour) so Reupert can be reimbursed for the motor. In total the time allotted is about 4 hours of time. Doing the math this is $121.50 per hour. Bottom line is you had the opportunity to take out an extended labor warranty at the time of sale and you declined to do this. At the end of the day, you were charged $98 to diagnose your system and Reupert made the exception and brought the part into our office and gave you the motor to put in yourself and I still processed your warranty at no additional charge."
