This ended up being a insurance claim. Restorative was expeditious about coming out for the initial clean up. We were told that they could do the the construction part but we're pretty busy and could come out and work on short notice. We decided to do that. They never could fit us in so they they finally started work a month and a half later. When I signed the contract Keith gave me the insurance check and said that the first installment, 1/3 payment, would be made after carpet installed, second payment was due after hardwood completion and final payment when we were completely happy with the work. Needless to say we were not happy. The hardwood went great and looks great. Completely happy. The carpet install was another story. Restoraid contracted Carpetland to do the work. Prior to the install you could not see a seam in our refinished basement. We selected the same carpet that was water damaged and after installation you could see 3 large seams the most visible right in the middle of the TV viewing area. This seam was also hard due to excess glue. We pointed this out to Keith who made excuses for the installers. We got our insurance company involved and had a 3rd party inspector look at it. He said the work was "industry standard". What low standards this industry has as well as Restoraid. I told Keith that I was unhappy and did want to make the 3rd payment as previously discussed. We got a letter threatening turn over to a collection agency. So much for a handshake and verbal agreement. We made the final payment to avoid a legal fight but now have to live with what I consider sub par standards. We went from no visible seams to 3 visible seams right in the middle of the room. I must say that one shining point of the whole process was Ken who was prompt, courteous, and professional. He did the drywall work, paint and plumbing.

We are sorry that you feel your carpet seam and installation was not satisfactory, but we are glad your are pleased with the hardwood floors. Regarding delays, unfortunately this was a factor of your insurance company and approvals for the carpet replacement per your request and your particular insurance company requires that we have written approval before starting any work. During the process we updated you regarding messages and voicemails we left, even asking for assistance ultimately to get the process approved. While it did take some time, this was partially because of a catastrophe event in your area that delayed approvals from your insurance company. Once we started, we used the same contractor that you were pleased with and possibly the same installation team that you selected 5 years prior for the carpet installation, so as to make the process easier. After installation you expressed concern with the seams of the carpet, indicating to me that you did not have seams prior. I then not only reviewed the matter, but requested the worksheet from the original carpet 5 years prior, confirming that the seams were in the identical location as placed in this instance. Still, I asked for an inspection to assist. Upon inspection they felt that the seams were appropriate for a Berber carpeting (because it is constructed with loops of fiber, any seaming process requires the cutting of those loops). When you requested additional action we then had a certified carpet mill inspector visit the job to assist. An inspector is an approved resource regarding matter of carpet warranties, installation claims and color issues and is frequently used to determine responsibilities in claims and [Member Information Removed] matters. They are an impartial source on all matters regarding flooring. In his review he felt the seams were well done and even commented to me that the installer tried to match up loops to make the seam look better as well. At first he had difficulty finding the seams, although a quick measurement of the room quickly led him to the correct place. Still, he spent 2 hours onsite reviewing every aspect of the work and even cleaned the carpet due to a concern of a darkened area in an initial email from you. He found that this was the result of a shadow line from your couch after moving the couch and taking pictures. Ultimately he felt that the work was good and was well within guidelines for any carpet installation. He said that the only way to improve upon the seams would have been to select a carpet other than a Berber initially. Still, he felt that as the loops of the carpet would lay down with minimal traffic, the seams would be difficult to determine. When you again requested additional action, we responded and asked for involvement from the insurance company who again requested an inspector report and pictures of the carpeting. They too brought in a third-party for involvement and determination. Ultimately, after their review, they confirmed the inspection report as well. Regarding payment procedures, per our work authorization and project disbursement guidelines, payment is upon completion. Although I am sorry that you feel the seams are of poor quality, after three visits and confirmation from a carpet manufacturer trusted, certified inspector that the work was of good quality, we have no other remedy available.

It went great.....they came and checked on how everything was drying almost every day, and readjusted the fans and equipment as necessary to complete the job.
Description of Work: We had a slow refrigerator leak which we did not notice until it leaked through the wood floors into the basement. This provider came out immediately to take care of the huge mess which they did efficiently, quickly, with great professionalism . I was very satisfied with their perfomance.

They were really good. We didn't have any problems ever since they have repaired everything. I would call them in a New York minute. They are the best. They are competent and professional. Julie was incredible. She was called the master of disaster and I thought that was cute until she actually came out here and started making things happen. They were just top drawer. I can't say enough good things about them. They did the job the first time.
Description of Work: I used Restoraid Disaster Restoration to put tiles on the floor. They also repaired our dishwasher. They had to take all the cabinets out and do mold remediation. They also did a little bit of kitchen remodeling.

Very well. Story told in last paragraph.
Description of Work: Squirrels had eaten the wood inside the aluminum siding and taken up residence in our attic. Damage to house was extensive at pint of entry by attic vent. Restoraid repaired, replaced wood and covered entry area with sheet metal. Squirrels no longer can get in (YEA!!!). And the attic is secure. Cal from Restoraid was polite, thorough and discussed options for securing the attic. We are extremely satisfied.

I would recommend using them for these types of small repair and remodeling projects, especially involving a break in where insurance is involved.
Description of Work: In 2010 our home was burglarized by three men who broke in through the exterior and the interior basement doors. The exterior door was a metal door, but was covered at the top of an exterior stairwell with another wooden door. A separate interior basement door above an interior stair that leads to the kitchen was damaged also. These doors were damaged badly from the break-in. Restoraid was experienced with insurance situations and provided an estimator promptly who quoted the project. They began work promptly. They quoted the damage repair for insurance purposes, and I then decided to upgrade the repair to prevent further break-ins at an additional cost. They proposed a much stronger metal interior and exterior basement door and did a good job of replacing it with a two man crew. In one small case, I needed to ask them to improve an element of their work, and they did so. Everyone was professional and the work was solid. In an unrelated later case after a few months, I had a water leak through my ceiling which I thought could be an active pipe leak. I was concerned it could require turning water off in a house full of 5-6 people and ripping the ceiling out. I called my contact at Restoraid and the supervisor responded within an hour and spent probably 2 hours in an upstairs bathroom determining that a tub faucet was leaking in an unusual way and getting through caulking. He did not charge me for this. These little things go a long way with us. I then hired them to do another much bigger job.

FABULOUS job! Workers in home were extremely competent, punctual, trustworthy, and attentive to quality of detail. Powder room was first to be remodeled. We were very pleased. Mostly cosmetic - replace toilet, vanity and sink. Upstairs full baths were gutted, tiled, completely remodeled. Excellent tile work, electrical, plumbing, etc. We are very pleased.

They did a good job. It was a year long process because it took months to order the specialized tiles for the house. I think the quality of their repair was the best. They repaired the home and restructured the external features in such a way that it had a very similar look and feel as the original carriage house. The prices were negotiated through our insurance agency. They were very professional. I will call them again for additional work around the house.
Description of Work: We had a tree fall that damaged the carriage house so through our insurance agency we used Restoraid Disaster Restoration. They repaired our carriage house.

They claimed they could do so. They did not go by their contract and furnish the materials listed on the contract, cabinetry, dishwashers, and tub. They did not file the proper permit for the plumbing and electrical work, such as wiring, they were doing. They only obtained a permit for the drywall and electrical which was lighting only. They did not furnish the lighting that was purchased under my contract such as undercabinet lighting and ceiling lights in three rooms. The plumbing was not installed properly which caused further leaking that caused damage to the cabinetry and ceiling and everything below. The also did not install the proper switches in the fuse box that turned on the dishwasher and jazcucci. They did not file a permit for charge out outlet changes, they did not upgrade or improve the wiring in the house. They was a huge leak on the outside of the brick due to the leak. They advised they would find out what the cause was but they just painted over it, over rotted wood and concealed the wet molded insullation with new drywall. It was a leak from the PVC pipe. They filed a lien because they wanted me to pay an additional $8000.00. The lien was for $6000.00. They were paid $4000.00 to finish the job which they never did. The city stopped the work in September of 2007 due to them not following code. This company improperly applied a mechanic lien in the amount of $6000.00. They have already been overpaid for the services they did not complete. They also did not provide the products. They said they would provide new plumbing, upgraded fixtures and restore electrical usage which was not done.
Description of Work: I hired them to remove mold and mildew and restore and rehab my house.

Contrary to report above, permits were filed and city officials responded to the customer inquiries and have thus insisted that the customer must close her claims. Unfortunately despite previous agreements regarding outstanding amounts owned, customer did not fulfill payment schedule draws and work was ceased. Work claimed as outstanding by the customer was work to be covered under the next phase that was halted after multiple promises by the customer that she would send payment and did not. Furthermore, after consultation with her attorney, an agreement was reached whereby the customer would owe the outstanding balance. To date, customer has not fulfilled this obligation.
We had a toilet break on our upper level and flood out the entire house. Our insurance company assigned Restoraid to do the repairs. When we initially began working with them, they seemed responsive and said things would happen quickly. At first, they did. They came and did a tear down of all the walls and ceilings promptly. After that, things ground to a halt. Every thing seemed to require three phone calls before something would happen. They sent small crews once a week if at all (sometimes we weren't 2 weeks with no progress). They did a poor job coordinating with the other subcontractors (such as carpet, hardwood, etc.) so that when it came time, for example, for hardwood to be installed, they hadn't talked with the hardwood people. Consequently, our house would sit for weeks with nothing getting done. It often came to me individually calling the subcontractors to arrange services. A job that they initially told us would take 2-3 weeks, stretched on for over 4 months - during which our house was barely inhabitable. For what it is worth, the actual work they did was fine for the most part (although we often had to point out problems before it was really done right). The guys who worked in our house were polite. The years I lost from my life due to unending frustration though cloud that fact. The man who oversaw the work was rude, unprofessional and wholly unresponsive. It got to the point where I had to call him daily to remind him to do this or that because inevitably he had forgotten or deprioritized our job. Never once did we receive any apologies or even explanations for all the problems we were experiencing. The entire experience was awful and really made my life completely miserable for almost half a year. If your insurance assigns this company, remember that you usually can chose your own contractor to use instead. Although this may make the payment arrangements more cumbersome, consider the value of a contractor who does what he says and does it in a timely fashion, it is worth its price in gold!

They were suppose to start working in April 2007 and complete in Aug. They stopped in Sept and wanted me to pay for work that was not completed and I was not satisfied with. I moved in May 27th of this year and I do not think this house is habitable. They claimed to be professionals and even had a plumber and electrician on board for the project. They never even filed for these permits. The only permit they filed for was drywall. They took me to a City hearing on Dec 6 to appear before the City Permit Division wherein they were complaining that I hadn't paid for the uncompleted work. The City Permit Division said they couldn't help them with that and told Restoraid Disaster Restoration was to file for the permits and ruled in my favor. They had 60 days to comply but they never did aside from the drywall. I had attorney representation but it was not in my favor. I wouldn't recommend anyone to use them.
Description of Work: There was a huge cat urine odor at a residence I was going to be moving to that they were suppose to get rid of as well as some mold. Their way of getting rid of mold and water damage was to paint over it.

He didn't determine where any of the leaks are. He put up a slab of drywall, but there's moisture on the floor. We've asked him to perform the work in accordance with the contract, but he says he will not. The work was not done according to the contract.
Description of Work: Our contract says that he would remove, bag, and replace 80 sq. ft. moldy drywall and the R-13 insulation behind the it in the deep sink area of the basement to remedy a mold problem.

They arranged for duct cleaning and new blinds. I would recommend them unequivocally. They showed up to the minute when they said they would. They knew what they were doing. If I needed something, I would hear back from them in 15 minutes. They were perfect! They are very experienced in this business because this is strictly what they do.
Description of Work: We had a popcorn fire in a brand new microwave oven. It created an enormous amount of smoke throughout the entire house. We called our insurance company to report it and they sent us to Restoraid. They cleaned the house from top to bottom.
