They did not prorate the utility bill at closing. I ended up having to pay for six months of trash services, when I didn't even live there. All Jackie said was that they were not responsible, even though the utilities/city itself is also not responsible. Had to call up there four times to even get a definitive answer. Go elsewhere for your closing services.

Horrible. At this point, I can specifically address the poor communication that caused stress and frustration. I won't know until tomorrow whether or not they timely handled their fiduciary responsibilities. The Buyers chose this agency but as Seller I paid for the "service". They emailed a document which would permit them to COPY my realtors but, without informing me, used that to totally exclude me from the information loop. This was particularly problematic as I was out of town. They failed to send me a copy of the closing estimates for review and only minutes before the closing notary showed up on my doorstep was I able to obtain them. (They supposedly sent them to one of my two realtors, who they had been informed was out of the country.) They did not provide in advance any of the necessary paperwork to cancel my automatic mortgage deduction and would not agree to fax it to the mortgage company to ensure it was received timely. They neglected to even inform me of the time of the closing. It took place earlier today and they have not contacted me to inform me that it was successfully concluded. Furthermore, I have received no assurance that they promptly wired the funds to my account, another service that I paid for, and I'll have to follow up on that tomorrow. (They had wanted $35 to simply send my check via next day mail.) In my opinion, Prominent Title did not handle any aspects of the transaction in a professional manner and have no concept of what good customer service looks like. It was highly frustrating and I would absolutely never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I was the Seller in a real estate transaction. The Buyers selected Prominent Title and I paid for the service. The job was a simple home sale closing requiring the basic recording of legal documents to transfer title and serving as financial intermediary to ensure everyone is properly charged and credited.

They were easy to work with, they were very efficient, they did the closing in a very short time, and they explained everything. It was a good experience.
Description of Work: Prominent Title Agency handled the closing half for the bank.

Update:One month later and Prominent still hasn't corrected our last names at Hamilton County Auditor. I guess they got their money and now the motivation is gone.
Description of Work: Ever get the feeling that you're inconveniencing the company that you're paying? Well Prominent Title sure acts like they're doing YOU the favor. From the very beginning, I struggled with them to call me back or give me a status on the closing of a house that I bought. It seems like nobody collaborates there. One guy did the closing, one guy did the title search and documentation. Neither one of them bothered to check the spelling of our names. They misspelled my last name and misspelled (differently) my wife's last name -- and we share the same last name! The office receptionist wears crop pants and flip-flops. "Chris" seems like he can't be bothered serving his client (me). At the closing, the guy didn't bother to correct the paperwork and re-print it. Even after my wife and I corrected our last names on the closing documents, Prominent still filed the misspelled names at Hamilton County Auditor. Never again.
