Nelson installed our new furnace and AC last year, summer 2017. We were happy with them and decided to go in their annual plan although they are more expensive than others. When it came to the first scheduled maintenance a year later everything went well. Technician said the filter needed to be changed. He said I could buy it myself and I did order one the next day to save some money. One week after the technician came out AC would not come on. It was a hot day. I called Nelson and they sent out the same technician, who told my wife, the issue was the dirty filter. The filter I ordered but had not arrived yet. For this advice I was charged $79. the filter came the next day. Suffice to say, I was angry. The technician did not warn me, my AC could malfunction within a week after service if I don’t change the filter. I would have bought their overpriced filter if I had known that. He recommended to order it. He knew it would take a week or so to arrive. I called Nelson, left a message, told them, I will not pay for this. Of course they sent me a bill. And another bill. FinalIy I sent them the check with a letter explaining my dissatisfaction with them. I also canceled my service plan. Since I had 1 maintenance service left, I suggested if they not cash the check we can call it even. ( actually not, since their plan is much more expensive, but I had to cut my losses). Nelson responded by sending the check back, voided, with NO letter, no communication, nothing. Just the check in an envelope. What a superb level of customer service. Unbelievable. There are tons of HVAC service companies out there who want to earn and probably keep your business. Nelson is not one of them and I do not recommend them. It’s a shame.

I have used Nelson for a number of years. 4 years ago they put in a new geothermal system and standby generator at my home. They have serviced both bi-annually since then.The generator failed to operate recently, and the service received was alarming. The technician diagnosed for almost 3 hours and eventually determined that a $700 part/repair was needed and not covered under warranty. The unit would not transfer the home back to utility power. When asked if we could simply bypass the generator to run on utility power while we waited on the part, the answer was no. After 3 days without power I called another Generac supplier locally. After coming out same day to look at the generator one simple switch was pulled to restore power to the home. Further, the $700 repair part that Nelson stated was broken was actually fine. The switch that needed replaced was recalled by Generac a couple years back. Nelson never performed the warranty campaign replacement during the numerous service calls. It was also apparent that the valves had not been timed, and two major bolt were missing from the initial install on the manifold. No firmware updates had been made during those maintenance visits either causing several faults on the unit. In short, Nelson is a good HVAC company. I would never contact them for any electrical or generator based services and unfortunately after this experience I will not be using for any services.

Scheduled a 9:30am appointment. One hour prior the appointment Nelson office calls to say appointment needs to be changed or canceled , Nelson was unable to keep appointment. I rescheduled for Noon same day. No show at Noon, then after waiting nearly 1 hr I call the office, I was updated the technician will likely show in another 20 mins or so. No apology offered. Frustrated I canceled the "Noon" appointment and called another more reliable company.

The equipment came at an excellent price. Installation was faulty, they needed to come back a couple of times to finish or correct what was done at installation. Because the quality of the installation has such a big impact on performance, I don't feel confident that I'm getting the full value of my high efficiency furnace.

We use Nelson Comfort for our heating and air conditioning service.  We actually got referred to them by you and we're very pleased with them.  We're on a maintenance plan with them and I think it's like $79 a month or something like that.  It's an annual plan where they come twice a year.  Once in the Spring time for the air conditioning and once in the Fall for the furnace.  I don't know if it's $79 a year or $129 a year.  We would definitely use them in the future, we have had so many previously, that we weren't real thrilled with and we're happy with what we have now.  I would tell other that they are a top quality service in responsiveness.  The workers were very good, knowledgeable, I mean they told us what they were doing, explained what was going on, and they were very thorough and courteous.

The replacement was $1,255 for a 50-gallon water heater. I can always count on their professionalism. They are knowledgeable and thorough. They are punctual, they complete their work to our satisfaction. With respect to installation, they’ve done a very good job of installing the units I’ve mention. Heating, air condition and hot water.

We're very pleased with their service. Their very professional, I believe their prices are competitive they don't push any particular line of products whether it's heater or air conditioning units, they installed them all and they do a good job we believe that their on top of  the products they sell and service and install, to me it meets all of the expectations that we have when it comes to good service for a/c and heat.

The people are very good, their very knowledgeable, they very prompt and their prices we haven't comparison shop but I would think that their in line. They also installed a new furnace for us when the old one conked out some years ago, they did a very good workman like job on that like everything. He just seemed very knowledgeable and it made sense and there was no charge for the service and he said you know if you ever want to go back to the old filters that you had, he said their perfectly alright that their safe they do the job but not as efficiently as the new paper filters and he said that I just leave the old ones here but he said after a few months check the paper filters and I think you'll  be surprised to see how much it is picking up as far as dust and in particular and so we went with that recommendation, that's an example of what I think is their standard of care and they stay very up to date with the latest developments. The technician who was out here  recommended that we try a new filter, he said it's becoming common in the industry, it's lighter and works more efficiently and he  gave us this filter to experiment with to use, so I'm impressed with that because we weren't having any problem with the filters and again the filters are okay the electric ones we had but he was just bringing us up to date on what was the latest going on in the industry and these paper filters I believe are far less expensive than the filters that we've had.

Of course, we were entering the coldest stretch of weather we have had this year and the gas furnace stopped working. I called Nelson Comfort, and they sent a technician over to access the problem. They were rather busy, and Elliot arrived at 2:00 AM and had the issue diagnosed and the gas furnace back up and running by 2:45 AM. The problem was a bad circuit board, and even though it was operating again, the gas furnace could stop working again at anytime. Therefore, Elliot returned the next day to replace the circuit board. I have used Nelson Comfort since we moved into our house (7 years) and have always been extremely satisfied with their technicians and service. I have no hesitation recommending them to friends and family. I have also maintained the service contract during this time.
