Neal's Design Remodel

We can't stress enough what a pleasure it has been to work with Neal's. A thorough site inspection was done before giving a cost estimate, eliminating the likelihood of cost surprises down the road. Their designers were knowledgeable and imaginative. Their wonderful showroom was a huge asset in making selections easier and bringing the final selections to life. The work schedule ran like clock work and the project manager was always available to answer our questions. Every Neal's employee and sub-contractor was professional and delivered superior quality results. They were on time and on schedule. The work site was cleaned up every day and trash removed daily as well. Dust was kept to a minimum.

One of the best features is their design help. Several features of the rooms were suggested by Neal's and we couldn't be happier. It took the finished product up a notch. We had one major issue during the construction which they were very reasonable in resolving. We were totally satisfied.

They did exactly what they promised. They did a very thorough job. They called to let us know when they were coming. They stuck to the date they estimated they would be done by. They provided very high, quality work. If we found anything that needed to be repaired, they got the problem taken care of with no questions or concerns as to why we thought it needed to be repaired. They were very prompt and courteous. Everyone who was assigned to the job was a very professional group of people.

They did a great job. The design component of the extension included an architect who did several designs until we found the right one. They kept the house clean and the quality of the work was excellent. No one can tell that we have an addition. It looks like part of the house, only better.

We first met with a project manager from Neil's, David Neidelman and their designer Connie Hampton. We told them what we were thinking about, and they helped us design our dream kitchen. Next, David and Connie came out to take measurements. We met with them a few more times to pick out granite, tile and cabinets, etc. Next, David gave us a very specific schedule that specified which one of the trade people would be doing what, on which day. For example, on May 13, the painter would be working, etc. They stuck to the schedule, and if there were going to be any changes, they informed us immediately. Their workers were extremely polite, and hard working. If we had any problem (they were very minor), all we had to do was mention it to David and it was taken care of that day! When there was work to be done that was extremely dusty, they put up plastic barriers to confine it. At the end of the day, whoever was working swept the area and took away any debris that was left. Thankfully, they did not use one of those huge construction containers, all materials were taken away in the truck of the person that worked that day. Their work was professional, and quality was beyond compare! Not only did Neil's keep on schedule, they made this remodel virtually painless and I would highly recommend them.

Every contractor they sent out was very professional and completed the work very well.

Neal's was hired to GC a project. The sum listed above did not include all the various subcontractors that Neal's included in the project. The company was a MAJOR disappointment. They failed to scheudule properly, failed to provide daily, or even weekly, supervision, and several jobs (both Neal's and subcontractor) had to be ripped out and re-done, or were done NOT to our specifications and without reason. The items Neal's were responsible for were poorly performed, and as a result, we have crooked framing, poor and inconsistent tile work and a host of other irregularities. Repeated meetings were held to address issues but the poor performance continued and escalated. In addition, the pricipal tried to talk us into accepting what we considered flawed work on several occasions. We were compelled to hand him a level so he could ascertain for himself that the framing was crooked. We have little confidence and no trust at all in Neal's and would not recommend.

Top drawer all the way. Excellent work. The best in Cincinnati as far as I'm concerned.

We had multiple problems with the plumbing done on the job. After the remodel, we developed a leak from the toilet that Neal's installed. We contact Neal's, and they paid for repair of the plumbing, but they do not wish to pay for water damage repair.

Very easy to deal with. Unfortunately, they were more than double my next lowest bid. They showed me other basement remodels that were close to $300,000 (Yes THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS THAT IS NOT A MISPRINT). Since I could build my house over again including purchasing the land and all of the necessary improvements to get there for well under $300,000, I don't think they were even close to my budget. He even went so far as to have another contractor call me to see if he could earn my business (now that's class!!!! Very professional and I'm SURE they do GREAT work just WAY out of my budget. I read other similar reviews before I called him and he told me that he may be more than my budget BEFORE he came out but he still did come out and show us everything. They do things the RIGHT way and their bids appear to be flawless leaving nothing to chance. Just TOO good to be afforded by my budget!!!!

RATHER THAN REMODEL, WE HAVE DECIDED TO BUILD NEW HOUSE & SELL CURRENT ONE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. THEY WERE PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL & WILLING TO LISTEN AS WELL AS ADVISE. NEAL'S BROUGHT IN A SPECIALIST FOR EACH AREA THAT WOULD BE AFFECTED. THEREFORE, THEIR ESTIMATE WAS DETAILED & ALL INCLUSIVE... FROM COST OF LABOR & MATERIALS TO THE AMOUNT OF TIME TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT. IT WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. WHILE NOT THE LOWEST ESTIMATE, I AM SURE THAT IT WAS ALL INCLUSIVE & THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO UNEXPECTED COST OVERRIDES. I WAS ADDITIONALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE NUMBER OF PROFESSIONAL AWARDS THE COMPANY HAS RECEIVED. IT IS ONE THING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO PRAISE THEM, BUT MORE IMPRESSIVE, IS THE RECOGNITION BY PROFESSIONALS IN THEIR OWN INDUSTRY. HAD WE GONE WITH THE REMODELING, I WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY CHOSEN THIS COMPANY.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY FINISHED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. IT WAS A BIT EXPENSIVE, BUT YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WAS VERY THRILLED WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT. THEY OFFER QUALITY WORK.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY GAVE ME SOUND ADVICE. I DID NOT GO WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT A GOOD MATCH FOR THIS PROJECT. THE WORK THEY DO IS HIGH-END.

VERY PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION. WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS WERE FIRST RATE. NEAL HENDY JR. DID AN EXCELLENT ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN JOB TO BLEND THE NEW ROOF WITH THE REST OF THE HOUSE. BAD WEATHER CAUGHT UP WITH THE WORK SCHEDULE, BUT THEY WORKED SEVERAL DAYS IN COLD RAIN AND SNOW TO STAY ON TRACK. GOOD JOB OF CLEANUP AFTER EACH WORKDAY.

COMMUNICATION WAS EXCELLENT THROUGHOUT ENTIRE PROJECT. THE SUBS WERE ALSO GREAT AND YOU COULD TELL THEY HAD A LOT OF RESPECT AND TRUST IN NEAL'S AS WELL. FOR EXAMPLE, THE CARPENTER ON OUR JOB DETERMINED THE BATHROOM ABOVE THE KITCHEN WAS LEAKING AND SIMPLY TOOK OUT HIS CELL PHONE AND CALLED BOTH THE PLUMBER AND THE TILE INSTALLER WHO WERE THE SUBS ON OUR JOB. THEY BOTH CAME FROM OTHER JOBS IMMEDIATELY AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. THEY ALL COMMENTED THAT NEAL'S WAS UNIQUE IN THE AUTONOMY AND SUPPORT THEY GAVE THEIR SUBS TO DO WHATEVER WAS REQUIRED TO BE CERTAIN THE JOB WAS DONE CORRECTLY AND WE WERE TOTALLY SATISFIED. THE OVERALL COST WAS HIGH ON OUR JOB ONLY BECAUSE WE CHOSE HIGH-END MATERIALS (GRANITE, HAND MADE TILE, APPLIANCES, ETC.) WE WOULD DEFINITELY USE NEAL'S AGAIN, AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS THAT COSTS TOP DOLLAR. IT BECOMES EVIDENT VERY QUICKLY THEY WILL NOT COMPETE ON PRICE, BUT THEIR QUALITY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS NOT MATCHED. THEY DESIGN, SKETCH AND WILL WORK WITH SUBCONTRACTORS TO MAKE YOUR THOUGHT REALITY. I DID NOT CARE FOR THEIR PLUMBER SUBCONTRACTOR AND WOULD CONTROL THAT NEXT TIME.
