"Murphy Home Improvement had contracts with the [member name removed] to install new windows on one contract and to install new interior wood trim on another contract. Murphy home improvement installed new windows and wood trim 3 to 4 years ago and the [member name removed] were happy with our work so they contracted for additional work. We installed the new windows and the homeowners were happy with the work performed. On the inside trim work Mrs. [member name removed] wanted to know if we could have the same installer that was used previously in their home to install the new wood trim. We informed her that installer Jerry was a subcontract worker that no longer worked for us because he did not have liability insurance. She insisted that he do the work so we told her that we would have to be paid in cash. Installer Jerry went to the [member name removed] home to install the new wood. Mrs. [member name removed] was not happy with how the new wood had different wood grains than the wood that had been installed previously. She was not satisfied with the work but she paid the installer Jerry the entire contract amount for the work. Mr. [member name removed] realized at that point that his wife made a big mistake by paying a person that was not an employee of Murphy Home Improvement. Since installer Jerry was not an employee or even a subcontractor for Murphy home improvement he did not go back and fix the job. Murphy home improvement went out again and purchased new wood, had the new inside wood trim stained and then had it installed by our carpenter. We invoiced the [member name removed] for $625 to cover our costs of materials and labor to correct the job to their liking. The [member name removed] also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and our settlement solution to them was to pay us $325 to which they have not responded. The Better Business Bureau has considered this case closed because they did not respond to our settlement offer. We are going to contact the [member name removed] and give them another chance to pay the $325 balance and if is not paid within seven days we will file suit against them for failure to pay on a contract. As part of our settlement offer the slanderous review that has been written by the [member name removed] needs to be removed from Angie's list."
