My AC went out in a HEAT Wave, which happened to be at the time I was having shoulder surgery and be home 100% of time.  I called 3 companies...JJ Smith was the 3rd one to come out.   Jerry helped me out immediately by offering to kick start my unit and if that didn't work he was going to loan me window units.   No other company even offered to do either of those!  

Not to mention, they were the best price comparatively...and he didn't try to up sell me.  Infact he told me I didn't need some of the offerings from one of his competitors.  He took time to educate and answer all my questions.  I ended up getting a new furnace and AC unit, since my units were super old which I had planned to do originally.

Outside of kick starting my AC unit and saving me during my time of need.  They installed the whole new system with no issues quickly and very professional!   They were all fantastic to work with overall, would recommend them to anyone!!

Initially disappointed. I received this recommendation from a real estate friend. So called to have my hot water heat system checked out before putting house on the market. They came over. Did a thorough job of checking system. Recommended a full replacement. Wasn't a surprise, it is original to the 65+ yr. old house. Said they were not very busy right now and would get us a quote right away and we could discount the service call. Never heard from them again. Very disappointed! Finally decided to call them back. Talked to the owner who apologized and got me a quote right away. Their price was $1000-2000 less than the other companies that I got quotes from. So I had them do the work. They did a great job. I've had to have them come out once after the original install to make some adjustments but the new system works great. The guys that did the work were knowledgeable and friendly. I'm glad I called them back!

I have a 7,000 square foot house that I run a business out of.  It at the time had two 5-ton and one 3-ton unit servicing the home.  One of the large 5-ton units that serviced half of the house went out and left my clients in a cold house on a cold Saturday night.  I tried calling at least 10 HVAC companies on a Sunday to find anyone to go out and service our unit immediately to get the heat up and running for my clients that were staying at that time.  I finally got someone to answer on that Sunday, JJ Smith.  They got the system up and running temporarily, but Jerry met with me the following week to show me the issues with the old system and the solution.  Jerry's team were out to take care of the removal of the old system and install the new.  Installation of TRANE Model 4TEC3F60 / Electric Furnace and TRANE Model XR-13 / 4 Ton Heat Pump with matching indoor coil, 14 SEER, 410A Refrigerant.  Their price included  all necessary sheet metal to connect to existing duct work, programmable thermostat, gravity condensate drain, copper line set, heat pump legs, slab under the furnace, all necessary wiring, outdoor disconnect, and the removal and disposal of all old Freon and equipment.
It was a shorter install for everything than they had stated, which was great.  We have never had an issue with our system since Jerry and their team have completed the work.  Really A+ work in all aspects of the job, and will continue to use at other locations, and recommend.

I have lived in the area for 4 years and have used JJ Smith Heating and Cooling since moving here.  They are punctual, professional and courteous.  I have an older furnace and JJ Smith keeps it running.  I do know that I will have to replace sooner than later, but this company is keeping me from that expense as long as possible.  Another great thing about this company is that I always get the same person servicing my furnace.  The service person is very familiar with my furnace and my air conditioner and I really appreciate that consistency.

Replaced our 20 year old furnace to take advantage of the tax credits for high efficiency replacements. Out of the 4 bids I obtained, JJ Smith had the most complete and professional proposal. They did a very workmanlike job of the replacement. I was glad they visited a couple days beforehand to discuss placement of exhaust and intake pipes. After they came back the installer had thought through the job and suggested some improvements such as redoing the exhaust from my hot water heater which were done at no extra charge.

I was very unhappy because they had installed the unit the year before and we were having problems within a year. I just found out today that the company had installed it wrong. I really do not feel very positive about the whole thing. For some reason they had a problem with my credit card going through even though there was no problem with my credit card, I suppose that could happen to anyone.

I started with Anigie's list to determine who I would have estimate the job. I had two companies submit an estimate: JJ Smith Heating & Cooling, and another company that begins with a "W". After I received the estimates I noticed a large discrepancy in the price, with company "W" at $1400 more than JJ Smith HC. So I went back and verified the estimates included the same products and I also asked the "W" company to give me a breakdown of the product costs and labor costs. I found that company "W" labor costs were significantly higher than JJ Smith. Company "W" did estimate the job completion at 1 business day, whereas JJ Smith estimated at about 2 business days. So company "W" using more labor and being a much larger company, probably has higher costs due to advertising, etc. Representatives from both companies were courteous, knowledgeable, and responsive, so the decision boiled down to cost. I decided on JJ Smith to do the job and it was absolutely worth it. Representatives from JJ Smith are very courteous and professional. They explained everything I needed to know about the product I was purchasing, what I should expect in terms of cost savings, and what would happen as part of the installation. The work took exactly as long as the estimate said it would, about 2 work days, and the only additional cost I had over the estimate was the permits from the county, which totaled $70. They took me through the thermostat and humidifier, and answered all the questions I had. The area’s where they had worked were cleaned and everything was just as you would expect from a company with good service.

They were friendly, didn't make a mess and did exactly what they said. I plan on using them all my future heating and cooling needs.

I called to schedule the service expecting a long wait, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out they could come out the next business day. Chris arrived within the given time frame, I described the problems, and he got to work. He found that the igniter was bad, and had been installed in the wrong location by the last company to work on the furnace (before I moved in). Chris replaced the igniter, cleaned and adjusted the flame sensor, and performed diagnostic service on the furnace. He was also able to fix the problem with my humidifier so it turns on and off properly with the furnace. Chris was very professional, and cleaned up any mess that he made. Chris told me that my furnace was about 17 years old, and instead of trying to sell me on a new one, said I could probably get 3-4 more years out of it if properly maintained.

Very positive experience. They got the job done in a day and a half, exactly as promised, and left the house as clean as it was when they arrived. They were very helpful in explaining what they were doing and how to maintain the new units. We recommend them and will use them for future maintenance/service.

The furnace, a/c and humidifier had been installed a little over a year ago by this same company. During the annual maintenance period, they came during the time scheduled, were very thorough in checking all three units and answered many questions from me when I asked about the operations and settings of the three units in different seasons. In addition, when I had the blocked pipe, which wasn't caused by their installation, they again showed up when scheduled, solved the problem quickly, went an extra step to raise the overflow pipes and didn't charge me for that work.
