+ -1 moreSince we live in one city and the company is in another we had to do most of the work by mail and email. The company gave us a great interest rate which is why we used them. But initially the lack of communication was very frustrating. The representative would not return calls or answer emails and we could never get questions answered. The application process was very extensive and somewhat confusing. We never knew where we stood in the process. We finally had to ask to work with someone else. The manager then stepped in and things got better. The whole process took from the end of March until mid July. We have a very good credit rating and had no problems with our original lender. Customer service is certainly not their forte.
Description of Work: We used the provider to refinance our mortgage.

+ -1 moreIF YOU LOCK INTO A MORTGAGE WITH THIS COMPANY--MAKE SURE YOU GET WRITTEN CONFIRMATION. DO NOT DO THIS OVER THE PHONE. DEMAND AN ORIGINAL DOCUMENT--OVERNIGHTED IF YOU HAVE TO.
Description of Work: I LOCKED INTO A MORTGAGE IN THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER WHEN RATES WERE VERY, VERY LOW. THE NEXT DAY AN INSPECTOR CALLED ME AND A HOME INSPECTION WAS DONE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. IN DECEMBER CALLED ABOUT THE CLOSE DATE. THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT I HAD NOT LOCKED IN. THEY WERE NOT WILLING TO RESOLVE THIS, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY SENT AN INSPECTOR OUT, WHICH INDICATED TO ME THAT I WAS COMMITTED TO THE MORTGAGE @ A RATE OF 6%. THE REP STATED HE WOULD CHECK INTO IT AND RETURN MY CALL THE NEXT DAY. AFTER 2 DAYS I CALLED HIM BACK AS HE MADE NO ATTEMPT TO CALL ME. HE STATED ALL HE COULD DO NOW, WAS OFFER ME CURRENT RATES AT 7%. HE STATED THAT, ADMITTEDLY, HE HAD 80 MORTGAGES GOING AT ONE TIME AND MAY HAVE OVERLOOKED THE LOCK IN. IT WAS, IN HIS WORDS, HIS WORD AGAINST MINE. I SPOKE TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY, WHO SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK, AND THEN PROMPTLY PASSED ME BACK TO THE REP. THE PRESIDENT DID NOT RETURN MY CALL. THIS WAS THE WORST EXAMPLE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE
