+ 2 moreWow! We were extremely pleased with Basement Living Systems. Having a remodel done by conventional remodeler in the Kitchen of our last home, it was very refreshing to see a company do what they say when they say at the price quoted. Our job foreman (Luke)was great with coming up with ideas to make the basement even better than we imagined. They showed up on time -left on time and cleaned up every day. The fact that there are no sub-contractors was also very refreshing as even the plumbers and electricians were accountable to their company and to us, the customer. They finished when they said they would be done and have been responsive to all our requests and needs even after they got paid. They really care about making us happy. I wish everyone I have hired was this good.
Description of Work: Finished Our Basement with their System that resists mold and gives great acoustics. Work also included all the electrical boxes, can lighting, and plumbing which included full bath and wet bar.

Description of Work: Partially finished basement using the new wall system provided by the company. We first contacted an Owens Corning contractor in Cincinnati. Twice they did not show up and did not call. We then contacted Champion. The salesperson showed up when expected and was very informative. The work took about one week. The workers were very willing to explain things, did a great job, and were very thorough. Everything turned out as described. We have come to the point where this is our favorite room in the house. We have had no issues with the work or the craftsmanship.

+ -1 moreThis project took many months to complete - approx. 8 months in total from start to finish. I was given a window of 8-12 weeks on the contract as the typical time frame for the project to be completed. I was told there was turnover in personnel @ Champion & this is why it took so long. The door was installed in a timely fashion but the rest of the project was what dragged out so long. I was disappointed in the lack of communication from the company- no returned phone calls -misleading statements on when the project would be completed. The finished product is very good but took much too long to complete.
Description of Work: New front door, new siding, new wood work in front of house around front door, garage and bay window.

+ -1 moreOverall work was mediocre to fair. Work is done so quickly that concrete for footers was put in same day joists were attached, concrete wasn't even allowed to cure. Tie-in to house walls was not done properly and had to be redone. Deck not installed properly and had to be redone. Large window leaked and gutters/downspouts all leaked and had to be fixed a few times. Time will tell if they are adequate now. Locks on doors didn't work properly and had to be fixed. This involved numerous phone calls to the company to get someone out to fix problems. A lot of additional costs with installation: padding for under carpet, lights, fan, heating and cooling costs all were our responsibility.
Description of Work: Built a 4-season sunroom next to our kitchen. Included tie-in to existing roof and two walls, electrical package of 5 outlets, 3 wall switches and tie-in for overhead fan/light and 2 outside lights (lights, fan not included).

WE HAD TO MAKE 3 CALLS OVER ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO GET SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND LOOK AT IT. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION, THE SERVICE REP AGREED IT DIDN'T MATCH, BUT TOLD US THE COMPANY NO LONGER CARRIED THE ORIGINAL VINYL. THEY FINALLY REPLACED ALL THE TRIM VINYL ON THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE SO IT LOOKED UNIFORM, BUT IT DOESN'T MATCH THE SIDES OR THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. WHEN THEY MADE THE REPAIR, THEY LEFT PIECES OF VINYL BEHIND AND TRAMPLED SOME SHRUBBERY.
Description of Work: WE HAD RECEIVED STORM DAMAGE AND SEVERAL SECTIONS OF MY TRIM BLEW OFF. WE CALLED CHAMPION FOR REPAIR, BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ONES THAT HAD INSTALLED IT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND WE HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY WITH THEM.

Description of Work: WE HAD GONE TO CHAMPION TO LOOK AT THEIR WINDOWS. AT THAT TIME WE HAD RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE ($10,000) FROM THEIR SALE'S MANAGER. BECAUSE WE DID NOT SIGN AT THAT TIME (ALTHOUGH HE HAD DROPPED OVER $4000. DURING A 1/2 HOUR VISIT) HE WAS TO COME OUT THAT NIGHT AT 6:00. WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM HIM AT 6:30 STATING HE WAS CAUGHT IN TRAFFIC AND HAD OTHER RESPONSIBLITIES THAT NIGHT SO COULD HE COME THE NEXT MORNING AT 9:00. WE AGREED. AT 9:30 THE NEXT MORNING WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM HIM STATING THAT HE COULD NOT MAKE IT. AT THAT POINT WE TOLD HIM TO GIVE US A COUPLE OF DAYS AND TO CALL BACK. HE NEVER CALLED BACK.

BRETT, THE FOREMAN, ADDED SOME NICE CUSTOM TOUCHES, ANSWERED OUR QUESTIONS OR REFERRED US TO HIS BOSS, CHARLIE, WHO WAS QUICK TO ANSWER OUR CALL AND VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR PERSONAL SITUATION. THEY WENT WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND TO GUARANTEE WE WERE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS OF THEIR WORK. IT IS SO WONDERFUL TO FIND A COMPANY THAT IS SO CONCERNED WITH CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TO THE END DEGREE. IT SEEMED LIKE A BIG EXPENSE AT FIRST, BUT IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY TO SEE WHAT WE NOW HAVE IN OUR HOME AND HOW COMFORTABLE THIS SPACE WILL BE FOR YEARS TO COME. WE REALLY GOT OUR MONEY'S WORTH FOR OUR TODDLER AND OUR TEENAGERS TO ENJOY! ALL HOMES SHOULD HAVE THIS FROM THE START. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH AND I WISH THERE WERE MORE COMPANIES AS HONEST AND HARDWORKING AS CHAMPION.
Description of Work: FINISHED THE BASEMENT WITH A MAINTENANCE FREE INSULATION TYPE WALL COVERING SYSTEM AND DROP CEILING WITH CAN LIGHTS ON DIMMERS. IT IS MILDEW RESISTANT, WASHABLE, REDUCES NOISE AND LOOKS GREAT. THE BASEBOARDS CLIP IN PLACE TO ALLOW CORDS OR CABLES TO BE OUT OF SIGHT AND THE PANELS CAN BE REMOVED IF YOU NEED TO GET TO THE ACTUAL WALL IN THE FUTURE. THEY ALSO BUILT TWO LARGE CLOSETS FOR EXTRA STORAGE AND OPENED THE BOTTOM 5 STEPS FOR A MORE OPEN LOOK. THERE WAS MUCH LESS MESS THAN ANY OTHER REMODELING PROJECT WE HAVE DONE IN THE PAST PLUS IT WAS DONE IN UNDER TWO WEEKS SO WE ARE ABLE TO USE IT FOR ALL THE UPCOMING HOLIDAYS!
