Description of Work: Shortly after I moved to town, I was referred to Bills Auto. They repaired my car, and then about a week later, I suspected that there was a new problem. I returned with my car and described the "symptoms." They took time to look the car over and then assured me that nothing was wrong. Bill explained carefully to me why my car was occasionally making a predictable, normal noise. Instead of taking advantage of someone who doesn't know much about cars (by making up a "problem" that they could charge me to fix) they educated me and refused to fix something that wasn't broken.

Description of Work: When my 19988 Toyota Camry wouldn't start I called Bills. They cam to my house and towed the car to their shop. They kept it for several weeks and worked on it to identify the problem and fix it. They were very responsive in keeping me advised on their progress. They ultimately identified the problem and fixed it. I have used them before and they are very honest and do great work.

I am going to take my car back to them for my next oil change and 60k tuneup as I know the price will be right!

They let us know if there is a belt loose, etc, but don't push a lot of extra services. Usually it takes just one day to get the car back.

Description of Work: They completed the 90k and 105k scheduled maintenance, also clamped some loose exhaust heat shields. They said there were some catalytic converter shields (?) that were loose but they could not fix those (no explanation about why not). I asked for alignment and assumed they'd do it, but apparently they don't. They recommended new tires and alignment.

They had trouble locating brake shoes that matched my car, but I was impressed by how they went the extra mile to find some. They sent someone all the way to the other side of tow to locate the right shoes. I was very satisfied with the customer service I received.
Description of Work: Bill's Auto repaired an oil leak and replaced the brake shoes on my 1995 Mercedes.

+ -1 moreAfter checking out the car, they called me with a report before starting any work. They told me that the brakes were in good condition and did not require service. They did recommend the transmission flush at this mileage. I've been using them for over 10 years and have found that Bill and his mechanics do excellent work. They do the work that's needed, and tell you what work isn't required.
Description of Work: 60,000 mile check up on my 2001 Subaru Forester, including cooling system flush, transmission flush, brake check, tune up, etc.

Description of Work: Diagnosis of starting problem. Replacement of starter with rebuilt unit after offering both a rebuilt or a new unit. Had to wait a day or two for rebuilt to come in, but $100 savings resulted.
