Service Provider ResponseEveryone will agree that preparing for a move takes a lot of work. The most important thing a customer can do is to be prepared for the movers on moving day. This includes having everything packed up and ready to go. If your home isn't packed, the movers are unable to properly (or efficiently) provide moving services. Additionally, moving trucks are big and heavy. In order to safely park the truck, a driveway or street access is required - we can't park in the grass or on the lawn without risk of damage. Just a couple of helpful tips!

Service Provider ResponseReviews like this one are puzzling to us. We provided local moving services over 3 1/2 years ago for this customer and they posted a review on Angie's List in November 2013. After a great deal of research, we found notes on this move. Our records indicate that the customer called in after their move demanding a new bed. After an on-site visit to view the headboard/footboard (which was metal and being stored in their garage) it was determined that the bed was very old, had been re-painted several times and was in pretty bad shape, certainly not due to "fresh" damage resulting from the move. We offered a "loss of appearance" allowance in good faith. The customer refused and demanded a new bed. In an effort to maintain good customer relations, we offered to have a professional repair company take a look at the bed. The customer did not respond or provide availability for this to take place. We haven't heard from them until this review, over 3 1/2 years later. Our sincerest intent is to provide every customer with a great moving experience. We are disappointed we weren't able to find equitable resolution for this customer.

Service Provider ResponseWe employ full-time professional movers. As such, when working Saturdays, our crews are paid at an overtime rate. Standard rates are in effect Mon - Fri and overtime rates apply on Saturdays. We are closed on Sunday for our crews to enjoy a day of rest with their families. While it is unfortunate some folks don't understand that employees deserve overtime pay for weekend work, we will continue to protect our crews' best interest. They deserve it. A customer's point-of-contact is the representative quoting and scheduling their move. As stated, our sales rep communicated well. We sincerely regret that this customer's expectations and the reality of our service capability were clearly not compatible. Since a full refund was issued and the customer experienced no monetary loss, we are pleased with the final outcome and extend our best regards even though we provided no moving services.

Simply stated, once the truck is enroute to your job, the crew is on the clock and the truck is burning that diesel. And that all that adds into the total cost.
