The service men came within two hours of our call. Checked the furnace thoroughly, discussed condition of the furnace. Shut it down for safety. Left us with CO detector. Scheduled install next day. They were on time. Worked cleanly. Adjusted vent outside. Left us with a working furnace and installed a/c.

I gathered a few estimates to replace my 27 year-old, very inefficient furnace.   Based on reputation and what I thought was a fair price - I decided to go with Adams Heating for the furnace and the install.   The estimate was rather quick and they provided a list of prices that included the furnace and services.   I chose one that I felt comfortable with, knowing that Adam's was not the cheapest bid I received but had a great service/install reputation.
The very next day, Eric & Lane from Adams started promptly at 9 am.  They did a great job removing the old furnance and re-working some of the old wires/vents that were not in ideal position.   By 5 pm, they had the new furnace up and running with the basement completely spotless.  Due to the extra time spent perfecting the furnace location and connections, they returned the next day to finish up drilling the holes in the basement for the furnace ventilation to exit the side of the house and not the chimney.   They were out by 12 pm on day 2.   The basement looked better than when they arrived a day earlier as their clean-up was superb.
I am very pleased with the install of a new furnace and really feel that Eric and Lane went the extra step to make sure they did the best install job they could.

Tony Potts from Adams was our first contact and we were impressed with his knowledge and helpful insights without feeling pressured whatsoever.  He laid out our options and allowed us to choose which product would suit our needs the best.  The men who came to install our system were prompt, courteous and let us know exactly when they would be here to install.  They cleaned up around their work area each day that they were here and explained what they were doing as well.  Tony was here the day of the install to make sure the men had all they needed for the job and returned after the system was functional to explain it and adjust all the settings for us.  Not until he knew we were satisfied did he present us with a bill!!  Never had that happen with a company before!!
We heartily recommend Adams for any heating or air conditioning needs you have and would recommend Tony Potts as your representative for their company!!

It was a new home and before I turned on the AC for the summer I thought it would be smart to have it looked at. I called Adams because they were a Carrier dealer and that was the system we have.  When the tech came out he was on time and seemed to be professional. The tech looked at what was going on inside and looked at the outside unit ( condensor). He proceded to come inside and inform us that our whole system was defunct. It was out of date and needed replaced, He then went into a half an hour shpeal about how the system we had was not worth fixing and recomended a whol new system. Broke as we were, I insisted on him just charging the system we had to see what happens. There is a window right in front of our AC condensor and I just happened to be looking through that window when the tech hooked up his guages. I am a mechanic and I Know that a car system runs at about 30-35lbs on the low side and about 200-220 on the high side and when he hooked up his guages to my condensor the needles were sittine well..welll..WELL above zero. Two and a half years later there seems to be no leak in our AC system and everything is still working great! There was no leak and Adams ( or at least that Teach ) Rips people off for a living Everyone has to make a living, it makes me sick to think what leangths people go to to do it!

Scheduled an appointment to have the spring tuneup on the AC, which included

cleaning the outside heat pump unit.  Also, requested inside unit cleaning, drain the water heater, and an estimate on having some duct work repaired/replaced.   When the tech guy showed up, I went over what I had requested.  He informed me that the only thing on his list was to tune up the AC.
OK, I'm not happy about ithe rest of what I wanted, but could he look at the duct work anyway.  I showed him the access to the attic and the crawl space.  He started up the attic ladder and said it was too hot up there and I should have it looked at on a cooler day.  OK, it was a hot day so I'll let it slide.  When it came to the crawl space, I described the duct work and told him it was original to the house, close to 30 years old.  He said 'that stuff lasts forever' and shouldn't need anything done to it.  He did not even go down to look.
So, on to the heat pump servicing.  I let him know that I get a lot of pine needles and debris inside the heat pump housing and wanted that cleaned out.  He said OK and started spraying the exterior.  When I walked by a little later when he was hosing the unit down, I saw a huge puddle of foam from the cleaner he'd used which was getting really close to plants that are at least a couple of feet away from the unit.  Waiting to see if I'm going to have to replace any of the plants if the cleaner kills them.
I also told him there was a musty smell inside and that the defrost and automatic switch to the backup heat did not seem to be working correctly.  He said he didn't know why for any of it and did nothing to check on.  I realize that it would be better to check the defrost and switch over until late fall when the heat is on, but the musty smell is probably due to the inside unit needing to be cleaned, which I had requested.  The other heating/AC techs I have used have always included cleaning it in the past.
After I paid him. he gave me the bill and I saw that draining the hot water heater and doing an estimate on the duct work, was listed even though he said it was not.  After he left, I went to put some more water on the puddle of foam and noticed there was still debris in the unit.
So, I called Adams and complained.  I also let them know I thought $95 was a bit high to just have the exterior of the unit cleaned.  I was told they could have someone over the next day to do the rest of the work.  Unfortunately, I could not take off work again until the middle of June.  So, if they could just come over and finish cleaning the exterior unit it would be OK.
When I got home, I checked and saw that they had finished cleaning the unit.  About half hour later I noticed that the inside unit was running continually, but there was no cool air coming from the duct work and the fan on the outside unit was not running.  I went out to investigate.  They had not put the fuse box back in and restarted the the outside unit.  I had to shut everything down and put the fuses back myself then wait for the system to reset.  Fortunately the AC worked again especially since Adams does not work on Saturdays and I did not need to wait until Monday and take more time off work.
I will definitely NOT use Adams again and will NOT refer them.  There was another contractor doing some other work for me when Adams was here and he wanted to know who it was so that he made sure he never used them for his heating and AC.

Reponse time was great, less than 2.5 hours from my call requesting service to driver being at my door. Tech was professional, quick to get to work, and quick to discover the issue and repair it. Was in an out in about 45 minutes. Will definietly being using Adams Heating Co. again for any heating and AC issues. Reasonably price.

My realtor recommended them to me, and I trust him very much.  It was a great experience.  They came on time, did what they had to do, and had a reasonable price.  The new boiler is incredibly efficient.

Outstanding.  A/C unit is 7 years old, this is the first problem we have had.  Adams is a very personal company.  Have dealt with the big cheese - Dale Adams several times and he is as trustworthy as they come.  Got competitive estimates the first 2 times we used them, but they beat the other estimates by enough that I don't bother to get other estimates now.

Like clockwork. They explained the rebates and other options very thoroughly and let us make the final model and price point. They left all of the needed materials to properly research the decision. Once we told them what we wanted, the work was completed the next day

They furnace was cutting off; they came out, couldn't find anything definitively wrong, and charged a service call. When it happened again, they came out, saw the problem, fixed it and did not charge an additional service call. I'm quite happy with them. I gave a B on price because it just seems expensive, but they could well be in line with everyone else for all I know.

The old furnace had some on going problems that cost me a lot. They came, removed the old furnace and installed the new one. They made it very easy and were excellent. They cleaned up after themselves and did a very good job.

When our oil furnace quit working. I called our regular heating/ac serviceman and discovered that he was out of town. His voice mail referred me to another company who was unable to come out that day but they referred me to Adams. I called and was told that someone would be there within two hours. Their serviceman-Charlie-arrived within the two hours. Discovered what was causing the problem, and replaced the part in less than an hour. Needless to say we were very pleased. We will keep their phone number handy for any additional services needed in the future.

OUTSTANDING. WHEN ORIGINAL A/C COMPANY COULD NOT PERFORM OUR PROJECT WE SCOURED ANGIE'S LIST FOR A REPLACEMENT COMPANY, BUT NONE COULD COME CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. FINALLY A NEIGHBOR RECOMMENDED ADAMS. THEY MATCHED THE ESTIMATE (NO ONE WAS TOLD WHAT THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WAS) AND PROVIDED ME WITH THE UPGRADES I DESIRED. AT ONE POINT WHEN I ASKED ABOUT SPENDING MORE ON A HIGHER BTU FURNACE THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME TO SAVE MY MONEY - I DIDN'T NEED IT AND IT WOULDN'T HELP. WAS ALSO THE ONLY COMPANY TO HAVE ME AN ESTIMATE ON THE SAME DAY I CALLED THEM
