We've used McHugh's plumbing for a number of jobs over the last five years. The quality of work had always been excellent. Once a tenant called us after picking the toilet. They'd already called their own plumber who couldn't get it unblocked and was proposing more substantial work. Bob quickly responded, gave us a quote that was substantially lower than the first plumber, and had the toilet cleared the next morning. On another job we needed a drain pipe replaced in the kitchen ceiling. His team did the work quickly and arranged for a plasterer, familiar with old Shaker houses, to patch the ceiling and walls. After a couple of coats of paint, you wouldn't know they'd been there. Needless to say, if we have a plumbing emergency, McHugh is our first call!

McHugh's was a pleasure to work with. Bob, the owner, quickly responded to my request for a quote. His quote was SIGNIFICANTLY less than a couple of other companies I contacted. There was no sales pitch; Bob knew exactly what needed to be done, and priced the job accordingly. He sent one of his plumbers, Anthony, to do the work. Anthony was on time, and took great care to cover all work surfaces, and keep the double vanity clean while he replaced the two faucets in the master bathroom. When he was finished, he cleaned the work area, and took everything to be disposed of to his truck. Very quick and very professional. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the work, and would use them again.

Very rarely do I use the word exquisite for work performed at my home. The work done by Bob McHugh and several of his employees was top notch and indeed exquisite. They were all very polite and meticulous. It was a complicated job because of the age of the home, the size of the new tub to be installed and back to back bathrooms. I wanted to maintain copper supply lines throughout the project (going from a single vanity to a double) and of the 5 quotes I received, Bob was the only one that figured out an elegant way to do this behind the walls. And as a side note since the bathroom was partially demoed at the time Bob first visited, he was the only contractor that fully inspected what was behind the walls to gather the info needed to do the job to our satisfaction. We'll be using Bob and his team again in the future without hesitation. The photo shows the rough in plumbing for one of the two sinks.

After several recent poor encounters with service professionals it was a pleasure dealing with McHugh’s. Great communication, prompt and professionalism today is unfortunately becoming more the exception rather than the norm. We will not hesitate to call Bob again in the future should the need arise. I highly recommend McHugh’s for any plumbing issues, big or small.

Went great. We have used them for over 20 years numerous times. We were out of the country and Bob and his crew went to our house and completed all of the outside work. It was great to come home to have all of these broken items fixed.

When I noticed leaks in my water heater (4 yrs old) I called Bob McHugh to schedule service to determine problem. Bob responded immediately and scheduled one of his techs to review problem. Tech showed up when promised and was very through in diagnosing the cause and ;checking for possible causes of premature tank failure. Bob scheduled a water analysis service to come to the house to check the water for possible problems. Unfortunately cause of tank failure could not be determined with certainty but the best guess was defect in tank construction. Bob worked with me to determine the best replacement brand and scheduled day and time to replace. The replacement went smoothly with his techs showing up on time which is always nice. Their work was efficient, neat and thorough. Bob McHugh always works with me to get my needs scheduled in a timely manner even though his crew is busy with multiple jobs and then always follows up when the work is finished to insure that I am satisfied and if I have any questions. I highly recommend McHugh's Plumbing.

He came to give me an estimate. He seemed knowledgeable and friendly. He left saying he would get in touch with me in a couple days after getting together with an inspector. And then a week went by, and I called and checked in... and more weeks went by... and conversations with Ginney... and texts... and more weeks...and messages... and then both mailboxes were full so you can't leave any messages... At 10 weeks I gave up. Good luck getting a response from anyone who works there.

It was a great experience! My water heater was leaking and I had to turn it off the night before. I called at 6:30 am and they answered the phone! They were punctual, very professional, explained what they were doing and why, handled the warranty details - all fo a reasonable price. For example, they spent time to measure the space and ensure the new water heater would fit (it is in a small area near the furnace) before they purchased it from the plumbing supply company. They cleaned up the area where they were working and returned items they had to move to the proper place before they left. I would not hesitate to use them again if I need plumbing work. I would recommend them.

WAY OVERPRICED! He charged $595 to unclog a toilet, $75 and $85 to replace flapper valves, and an additional $235 to reinstall the toilet. Total bill was $1120 for repair work that most people could do themselves. I do not recommend this service. Get a quote from someone else.

"I hope this response is read. The fact is that this report was given by a tenant and not the homeowner who contracted with us to solve their plumbing problem. I spoke with the homeowner after reviewing this report and they feel the report is unacceptable from their tenant. I did not contract with this tenant. But Based on the lease agreement the tenant is responsible for paying the repair cost for the snaking portion since she was flushing - (non flushable items). Flush wipes etc.. that cost was 595.00. We have worked with the homeowner several times and have a very good standing with them. This project was priced and done according to upfront prices. The 595.00 was for pulling a second floor toilet and snaking a sewer line to free the clog. The tenant first used their own plumber who could not get the problem fixed. All the other items done were to replace a shut off valve and repair two toilets / all of which were approved by my customer - the homeowner. Service went very well. I have been looking for a plumber for other services in my home when drain clogged. I spoke with Bob McHugh early in day, he worked around my schedule. When Tom and Brian came they immediately did work, gave advice, answered my questions. Then Bob stopped by, checked work and we discussed some upgrades for piping and water heater. I was very pleased with the professionalism and service. I will use them again.

They came out the same day I called, Promised they would be back later that week to replace the faucet. Never showed up. I called, Bob, the owner I believe, apologized profusely, said they would be by within a few days to replace the faucet. Never got a call again. I have used them before and they were great. That is why I called the again. However after promises of coming back, and even double checking my schedule to make sure I would be home then never showing up, I will NEVER use them again.

We had a bathtub that would not drain. Checked Angies List and found Mc Hugh's. (Went with the rating and they were local) . I made a phone call and got Bob Mc Hugh himself. Explained our situation, and he was out two hours later! He also fixed the drip on the bathtub faucet! Applied an Angie's list discount, too. Courteous, Fast, Clean, Good Communication, and Fair and honest pricing! $175- snake the drain $85- replaced the faucet cartridge. NO charge for the parts. Charge was for labor only.

MCHUGH'S PLUMBING SAVED THE DAY! I could not be more happy with McHugh's Plumbing! We were getting a new refrigerator so the day before delivery, I pulled the old one out from the wall. When I pulled it out the old copper water line to the ice maker cracked and water was spraying everywhere. Turned off the main and starting looking up plumbers. I called McHugh's around 6:30pm on a Thursday and they were able to send out someone the next morning! I know this quick service may not be possible the next time I call but it was wonderful that it did happen. Our service visit went very well and the water line was replaced before the refrigerator was delivered. So happy with McHugh's!!

They sent 2 young men out, they were very professional and knew what they were doing. They stopped the leak and it hasn't leaked again since they left. They cleaned up very well afterwards, very reasonable price.

they did the work as planned...were responsive...however after they were paid they did not standby their work. four of the nine sinks have low pressure and showers have minimal pressure...they said it was "normal wear and tear" but even worse offered to come do the work.i never said I wouldn't pay them to come but they have failed to show for 5 scheduled visits. I have been trying to get them to respond for over two months...very disappointing.. UPDATE: They took a little long to come back out. But they did come out and fixed the problem. It went really smooth.

I called, left a message, and was called back right away. They also sent a text in case I missed the call. I called in the morning and they sent out a guy right away to assess the situation. Another crew arrived at 1:30 had a new hot water heater installed by 3pm! They were very personable and professional. Work was done well and they left the area spotless when they were done. I had gotten 2 other prices and theirs was right in the middle. Since their service was so good, I consider it a bargain! I highly recommend this company.

I called on a Saturday afternoon and they responded quickly, were on site within a couple hours. One plumber showed initially, he was unable to correct the problem until a second plumber joined him. They fixed the problem, cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. My only negative was the cost - I appreciate that this was a Saturday emergency call and expect to pay a premium, but the charge was over $300 to snake out a drain - I thought that was pretty high. The only advance pricing I received was that the service call would cost $95 as a starting point.
