Our situation is that we have a gravity based drainage system to drain water from under the house. With this system there is always some water in the sump pit. Our old pump was not installed properly and failed several years ago. I felt we should have a sump pump which would work as a back up system in case the normal drainage system didn't work properly. Brad listened carefully to my description of the problem and installed a pump which will work as a back up to the gravity drainage system rather than competing with the normal drainage system. I called him yesterday and described the problem. We made an appointment for today. He had thought about the options and picked up a pump and float valve system which he thought would work. He came when he said he would and installed the system, explaining it to me thoroughly.
I am very happy with the system he put in. He was professional, thoughtful, efficient and delivered the requested service within 24 hours of when I called him! Given his professional input as well as installing a high quality system, I think the price was fair.
I also used him a few months ago when our old hot water heater leaked and needed rapid replacement. He did a great job then also. (see my review from July)
On July 9, 2015 we smelled dampness in the basement. We went down and our old hot water heater had cracked and there was water on the floor and on part of a carpeted area in a finished section of the basement and water still leaking. We shut off the water and called a contractor Ray Matrey of Kitchen Expeditors. Ray came right over and discussed what kind of hot water heater to replace it with and went and priced it for us. He also arranged with Brad of Brad's Plumbing to come over today, July 10, to install the new heater. In the mean time we called Arslanian Brothers Carpet Cleaners who came right over and started working on getting the water out of the carpet and set up blowers to dry the areas which were wet. (they did a great job also)
Brad was highly professional, prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. He suggested a drain pan to catch leaks in case something like this happened again. That was relatively inexpensive so we had that installed at the same time that he installed the new hot water heater.
The total cost for new hot water heater, pan connecting gas, hot and cold water, and pipe to drain the pump to the sump hole was $1500. This was much, much less than Havsco quoted us and was done in an excellent way.
WE are grateful to Ray (Kitchen Expeditors, Brad (Brad's Plumbing) and Arslanian Brothers and recommend them all!
