We have used Hemlock for many years for all of our landscaping needs. The quality of their work is always excellent and we have always been satisfied with the results. The redesign of our backyard was a big job and handled in a totally professional manner. Their crew was very skillful, friendly, courteous, and respected our inputs. There was no way to get machinery into our yard because we have only two narrow access points. All the stone for the patio and walkways had to be moved manually.

We have recommended Hemlock to many people over the years.

The lawn cutting itself went fine but our issue is with what they charge. Typically the lawn takes my husband about 90 minutes to cut with our ride-own tractor. Hemlock's staff billed us for over 6 hours of work! Furthermore I observed them taking frequent breaks to smoke and relax. We questioned Hemlock as to the charges and they claimed that, in order to cut the lawn to their satisfaction, they require more time to dispose of clippings and that the lawn required 4 passes.
Um, how about asking *us* what we wanted instead of just going ahead and billing for a huge amount of work? Even when the grass is longer it does not take us 6 hours to cut it.
In summary, we feel taken advantage of. The lawn was cut well, the amount charged and the attitude of the workers leaves much to be desired.

Hemlock was very professional, their quote was reasonable, and they honored their quote to the dime. I was skeptical about the supposedly low-maintenance roses they planted, but they really are quite low-maintenance. Their work is easy to maintain and was overall a great value.

The spring cleanup was done well enough but I also wanted Hemlock to add a bluestone pad outside the pedestrian door to my garage and wanted it to match an existing bluestone patio. Eric Kirschner said he would sketch a design so we would agree on the dimensions and layout. He never did although during several phone calls to find out the status of my project he told me it was delayed or  almost ready, always almost ready but actually never done. I finally got tired of waiting and told Hemlock I no longer wanted them to do the work. I won't use the company again because they didn't do what they said they would do.
And for what they actually did for me, they were expensive.

I have used Hemlock Landscapes and I have recommended them to Angie's List before and I gave them all stars. The cost for everything is different. I have shopped around and their prices are fair and reasonable. I see their trucks in the neighborhood and I just went up and talked to them and interviewed them. My landscaper wasn't doing a good job so I thought I wanted to find somebody new and once I found these guys, I stuck with them. I have been using them for 5 years. They are friendly, honest and they do a good job.

Hemlock does a great job. I especially like Susan, who does our garden visits to maintain the flower beds, shrubs, etc. They are professional, make the yard look great, and are very responsive to emails. Landscaping is expensive, but seems relatively comparable to others in the industry.

Outstanding.  Two men arrived promptly at 8:30AM and worked their butts off until complete at 6:15PM--stopping only for short lunch break.  Beds were in poor shape, had not been worked in two years.  When they left, my wife said they never looked that good.  Very satisfied with the entire experience end to end.  Will be using them in future.
