They're here all the time. They do everything for me. They do the outdoor bug spray, they do the stuff for the shrubs. They also work on the lawn. So they do a lot of stuff. They do well and I keep having them back. I just think sometimes, since it's a contract and they're here a lot, they're probably a little sloppy, honestly. They're all professional and very nice.

We contacted this company for an estimate, and  they utilized a Google Map to see our property and take measurements.  This company offers 5% off if you pre-paid via phone or 10%, I found out later if you order service online, which we were not told about on the phone.  Anyhow, we were quoted $335.00 for weed and feed.  I was home when the first application was being placed, so I asked the technician if his treatment would kill insects too.  I was told that what he was putting down would do nothing for insects and advised me to call for the additional services.  I called and was quoted an additional $168.30 for 2 applications of insect control.   I had to call the company after the one of the technicians that came out ran his weed and feed through the brand new areas of grass that we were planting and effectively burned out all of the seedlings.  He also placed "something" through our entire lawn and applied what I thought was insect killer and now our whole lawn is orange.  Communication with this company is horrible and sometimes absent!  The last person that I spoke with is Matt, who was represented as a supervisor, and his last words to me was that he was going to come out to our house to see our lawn and the damage that the last technician did.  We got no knocks on our door and no phone calls.  We did get a "sorry to see you go" email.  For almost $500.00 we got killed seedlings a damaged lawn and enough ants to still run up my legs when I walk through the lawn.  I came to find out that the insect killer that was applied for was Cinch bugs which I don't even know If I have Cinch bugs.  One of Matt's last words to me was that we ordered the wrong insect killer.  I would probably only recommend this company if you are very knowledgeable with your lawn, know what is wrong with it,  and know exactly what it needs, in which case you can save hundreds of dollars and just treat your lawn yourself.  When I asked for a refund of the services not used, a refund for the wrong insect program and consideration for the additional supplies that I had to purchase to replant the areas of new grass I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks!?  I needed a professional and only got an internet sales company and a damaged lawn.---------UPDATE--------We have been working with this company to get a resolution and we did receive a refund just today of what we paid by check and the remainder was refunded through a credit card dispute.  I took many pictures of how my lawn looks now and thought that I could post them for others to see, but I don't see a link here.  In any regards, I did upgrade their score to a "C" since they did eventually come out to the house and tried one treatment to aerate the lawn which did absolutely nothing.  Unfortunately, when I started with this company I had a few areas that needed to be planted and now I have a whole lawn with many, many areas that are now down to just dirt.  The weeds are like they have never been touched and I also seem to have new weeds that I didn't previously have.  In my conversations with this company, I thought that they were going to "fix" my grass at their expense this year and I would continue with them next year, but they only did the aeration and planned on charging me for any and all of the additional services, this year and next, which I was reminded at the time of our last conversation that I currently had a balance owing.  I really wish that I could post some pictures because it would be very easy to see that my lawn not only needs a lot of help this year, (which Scott's wanted me to pay for all of the additional services)  but will require extensive reseeding and a lot of TLC next year just to get it back to where I started from.  This experience was our first with lawn care and may just very well be our last if this is how the companies operate.  As each lawn is individual with it's own set of issues, each lawn needs to be treated as such with it's own treatment plan especially if you are using chemicals to treat it.  HEADS UP---Our experience was that the initial cost of lawn treatments is less than what one might pay doing it themselves, but when you have to start paying for additional treatments and repairs, the costs quickly escalate.

They did fine. We have a summer program. They have done it in the past and they seemed fine. It was only one time and it has been fine. They guarantee their work. They say that they would be out in between if there are any issues. So far, it is good. The price seems very comparable. It is good value rather than buying it myself and doing it, but it is still more than what I like to pay. The lawn looks good right now, but it was just one application. I put down the first one and they contacted me and I had them pick up the second through fifth. I signed up and they came. So, their responsiveness has been fine. They are very good. I only had contact with the salesman. The young man who came to the neighborhood was very professional and he kind of convinced me.

They're very responsive. There's several gone wrong with the lawn that we think we paid for, they came out and did the work. I would use them again in the future.

They are fine. I haven't had any problems. They are reliable. They call up. They tell you when they are scheduling an appointment for their service people to come out and do some fertilization or whatever they are going to service. They always let you know they leave the bill on the door. The used to leave a bill but now they leave a little notice of the person that was here. They give you watering instructions. I would rate them high. I think they are competitive.

I have been using them for a couple of years now. I buy a yearly service. They give me a discount for bundling. They show up when they say they are going too. It is a little price but, the same as others. They do not make a mess.

They are expensive in my opinion. When you cancel their service, they really bother you to get you back online.

We've only had them for one treatment but they've been responsive and prompt in providing details about the services they offer. We were quoted $55 per treatment plus an extra aeration and reseeding in the fall for $180.

Absolutely awful the last few years. Applications were late, or missed. I prepaid the whole season and  2 of the scheduled applications never were made  last year. They couldn't explain why, and  I had to fight them to get my money back for the applications that i paid for and that they never did. I called them numerous times and they screened my calls and kept me from speaking with employees who actually could have done something. Very frustrating. Called theirt Corporate HQ to complain several times. That was minimally effective. Several shrubs under their care died and they wouldn't live up to their guarantee to make it right. Horrible service last several years, And, I was a loyal multi-year customer. After several years as their customer, I have had enough and i am done with them. No one could be worse. VERY disappointing. To me, they just didn't seem to care and didn't have any explanations as to why they screwed up.

They admitted the ortho weed killer they use is the same thing you can buy yourself at Lowes or wal mart. They basically just continue to try to sell you more treatments when their service is terrible and the results are just as bad.  Is there a grade lower than F to give them?  The lawn is half dead and full of weeds.  Stay away from this company if you care about what your lawn looks like at all.

I called the national headquarters for TruGreen and spoke to a sales person. She was able to use Google Earth to see a view of my yard and understand my what my requirements would be. She told me that someone from a local TruGreen office would call me within 24 hours to make an appointment. I waited a week and no one called. I called back and was told that my name and infor was on their computer and they would make sure someone would contact me. They also gave me the number of the local office in case I didn't hear from them within a few days. After a few days I call the local Brunswick, Ohio office. The operator apoligized for no one getting back to me and promised to have the sales manager get back to me to set up an appointment. After three weeks no one has called. TruGreen is both unreliable and unprofessional and I can see no reason why anyone would want to do business with them.

We contacted Scott's because of a recommendation from a friend because we were fed up with TruGreen's constant nagging for additional services and payment.  However,  Scott's isn't much better.  They recommended overseeding last fall because TruGreen had let our yard pretty much die off and it did come back very nice in the spring but over the course of the summer even though we have had a lot of rain we still have brown areas.  It is almost impossible to contact anyone at Scotts and when you do get through and leave a message it is a day or 2 later that you receive a call back.  Both times when a tech has come out to inspect the damage all they have done is recommend overseeding and not what the cause is or how to treat it.  In other words they also want you to pay for additional services...I am looking for a new provider..........

I made the mistake of paying more than I should have so I had a credit on my account for the first year. It took me about 6-8 months to make them realize that I had a credit; they continued to send me a bill despite repeated phone calls to their billing department. I couldn't contact one person in charge of billing/accounts to get this fixed. I ended up reporting them to the BBB with all the accompanying paperwork; it was finally resolved at the end of the season. I was cursed at by one of the service managers, and eventually when I did talk to the branch manager, he too cursed when he was apologizing for his other manager. Despite this we decided to use them for another year and in our second or third year we paid in advance to get a discount, foolishly thinking that we would be at the top of the list when it came time to service our property. However, we received no special advantage to this prepaying. They did not come or call on the date they said they would at the beginning of the season. When I finally got in touch with someone in service, I was told "we ran out of material"-it did not matter that I had prepaid! The first and second year we received postcards giving you an estimate of when they would come to service so you could plan ahead-third year no postcards as per their nation headquarters. You get an automated phone call from Trudy, usually two days before they come. Again, there is no communication between their departments, ie. there is no communication between service to sales, sales to billing, etc; and I did tell them this all three years. I called the Brunswick office to tell them I was cancelling their service and not to come to my property and low and behold they came to service the lawn! The service guy that came said he was aware the office was mismanaged, but I was still on the sheet and there was nothing he could do, and asked me to please come back to be a customer. I told him it wasn't his fault and the service people do a good job. Over the years, someone different was always here so they did have a turnover in the company-I had to walk all the new people around my property because of this. My mother in law has TruGreen in Florida, and she has the same problem that we have here. Same miscommunications, and indifferent customer service, so she cancelled as well. We went with a local company and are now satisfied with them. This was one of the reasons that I joined Angie's List, so I could check out companies in the future!
