Mr. Electric of Columbus

Overall, I'm very happy with the service. Dion, who was out for both of our service calls, did a great job and was very personable and professional. On the plus side, they have weekend hours, which is awesome not having to take time away from work or other activities to get things done. A couple minor negatives: on Saturday, Mr. Electric missed the appointment, but part of that was our fault (we missed the call). On Sunday, we discovered after the electrician had left that the network cable didn't work. He came back very quickly and got the problem resolved. Overall, I would recommend Mr. Electric based on the service I received. I give them very high marks for caring about taking care of my property (wearing boot covers, using dropcloths, and cleaning up afterwards.

Although it did turn into a bigger job, i was very pleased with the dedication he showed.

I had a short in my outside electrical circuit. I had traced all the lines I could and was at a standstill. When the gentleman arrived, I shared what I had done, and he noted that I was correct and then found the ONE thing I had'nt checked, resolved the problem and charged me absolute minimum. Good service, very nice fellow.

There was a mixup on the date of my appointment, but after 2 calls, a technician was dispatched.I got the estimate in the evening & the work was perfomed the next day - important, because I wanted the bathroom exhaust fan installed before attic insulation is added. Dave, the technician, was prompt, courteous, personable & tidy.

Dion from Mr. Electric came out, answered all our questions, provided trouble shooting, and told us what we needed to do to fix the problem. The problem is now fixed, and it didn't cost me a fortune! I also got an estimate from them for putting in another box. When I am ready to do the work, they will be doing it!

They were able to come out the day after I called. They called ahead 30 mins prior to arriving just like I asked. JR, the service technician, was polite and informative.It was a simple job but that did not affect his professionalism. Overall a very good experience

A very nice experience. From a pleasant conversation with the dispatcher, to a nice encounter with (Dave) the electrician. Mr. Electric seems to be well represented by competent and caring employees. Dave the electrician was very mindful of not tracking debri into the house. He offered up various remedies to my situation, and did not pressure myself into making a decision. I feel the quality of his work was excellent. I'll certainly consider employing Mr. Electric for my future remodeling plans. Thanks everyone!!

At first it looked like it would be an expensive job. I believed that a prior owner probably had not grounded some wires doing a remodel. As it turned out, Kurtis found the grounding wire after a lot of work, and quoted me a much cheaper price than we had agreed. They came out the day I called - such a different experience!

I called late on a Friday afternoon, and they offered to have someone come out that evening. Unfortunately I had another commitment and couldn't be home that evening or over the weekend, but they were able to put me on the schedule for 8-10am Monday. Kurtis arrived at 7:40am, which was earlier than I expected. Fortunately I was home, and early is better than being late. (The office did call to let me know he was on his way.) Kurtis looked at the four fixtures and determined it was the ballasts. (Three of the ballasts had black material oozing out of them!) He gave me a quote, and after I got over the sticker shock, I gave him the okay to do the work. He left to pick up the parts and came back about an hour later. Once he got back with the parts, it only took about an hour to do the work, which amounted to completely rebuilding the electrical portion of the fixtures. He did say I could put in new fixtures cheaper than rebuilding the old ones, but I like the look of the old fixtures and wanted to keep them. Bits of wiring and debris flew everywhere while he was working, but he swept up when he was done. The repaired fixtures work beautifully.

I called Mr. Electric this morning about a light switch that had sizzled, smoked, smelled, turned black, and shorted out. Much to my surprise, they were able to send someone (Curtis) out within about 30 minutes. He was very polite and professional and provided an estimate before he did any work. 20 minutes later, my switch had been replaced, everything was working again, and I was able to go to work. I would definitely call them again!

Service was great. Very prompt, knowledgable and professioal. Listened to what I wanted and made recommendations as to what I needed. Got the job done immediately.

Came out to take a look at issue for us and he didn't have to do any work so they didn't charge us anything. He ended up giving us a very nice estimate for future electrical work. We will be using them for the work.

The gentleman was very prompt and corrected the problem. However, had my husband not been a "hands on" landlord, we would have paid a much higher bill. We would definitely use them again. Everything went well.

This company is good. They are always on time. I really appreciate how they call before hand and let me know when they are going to be there. They also explain everything very well. I would recommend them.

I woke up this morning to a warm house - no AC. I soon realized a power switch blew overnight. I tried resetting it, but every time the AC came on, it would pop again. So, after some experimenting, I realized I was dealing with an electrical issue and not an AC issue. I called Mr. Electric of Columbus because they are the only electrical company I use in Columbus, primarily due to the fact that they did such a great job when I had to have my 1940s pop-o-matic fuse box upgraded. The technician and the supervisor came out to investigate. Both were highly professional, listened to my explanations, and were patient as they traced down the problem. They even went out of their way to make some adjustments so I could avoid problems in the future. I'll never use another electrical company in Columbus.

This is the second time I used Mr. Electric and J. R. I found the quality of J.R.'s work to be outstanding with attention to every detail. As he was working he noticed several switchplates that I had failed to put back on after painting. He carried some in his truck and fixed those promptly. He also fixed a bare wire that he noticed was dangerous that previous contractors had failed to conceal in wall. I will have him come out again to install new smoke alarms. I feel so much more comfortable in my home since he has been here and noticed things that I was unaware of, or disregarded, as being dangerous. He was friendly, courteous, and professional . He cleaned up and took out boxes and trash before he left.

His work far surpassed our expectations. He made an effort that other people would not. He also added a special coax cable to the outlet that had professional results. Price was a little higher than expected, but he was able to work with us on price.

I was impressed with the quality of work, attention to detail, and focus on getting the job done. The first day took over 12 hours of work without a break to assure that we would have our power back on the same day. After minor problems were identified, they were completely fixed the next day while finishing the rest of the job. While the price seemed a bit high, it appears that I got my money worth from true professionals who stand behind their work. If you want it done right and safely, use these guys.

I was having a problem with one breaker constantly flipping. I called around and had a few companies come in. I've known for some time that the electrical panel had to be replaced in full, and the person working for this company came in, took one look and said "That entire panel needs to be replaced." The other two companies I'd had in hadn't even mentioned it. He was completely straightforward about everything, and that sold me on the spot, even though they cost 10%-20% more. I explained I couldn't afford the entire panel fix immediately, and he said he could help me with a patch. He was quick, efficient, and discussed with me - while showing me - what had happened, and what I needed done and why. Then provided me with a quote to replace the panel. I highly recommend this company.

The service was fine and he was professional. He showed up on time and did great.

JR Deem was the technician who gave us the estimate and did the work. JR was very prompt both times. In fact he called approximately a half hour before arriving for the estimate to let us know he was enroute and he showed up promptley for the 3:30 pm apointment. At the time of the estiamte whe asked him how soon he could do the work if we decided and he stated as soon as we wanted it. We were thinking of maybe having the work done the next day which was a Friday.He even called us the next morning to touch base with us to see if we had decided on that day. We told him we had already called the office and set it up for Monday instead. JR showed up promptly on the scheduled day and began his work. He was very courteous, efficient and professional. JR even removed all of the empty boxes and cleaned each work are before leaving. We were very pleased with the workJR did and would definitely use him and Mr. Electric again for future electrical needs.

.He tried to charge me $425.00 after he he quoted me $250.00. I called the company and they had him fix the price.
