+ 2 moreMost recently, we had a problem with our blower/heat pump unit that services our second floor. They came and removed the unit so that we could clean up water that we thought had come through a rusted drain pan. A couple days later, we had water in the attic again. I called Smylie One at 3am and they came out an hour later. The source of the water was a clogged line which was backing up the drain line from the now-missing blower unit. Smylie One came and cleared the drain line a couple hours later. It was quite a mess and we were very happy to have them help us sort it out. They are now installing a new unit in the attic. I feel confident that they will do a good job and bring forward any issues that may come up as they perform the work. I know that I can depend on Smylie One to be there when I need professional heating/cooling or plumbing work.
Description of Work: I have been using Smylie One since we moved to Chesterland six years ago. We have used them for heating/cooling work and plumbing work. They have always been very professional and have done a good job. In addition, they are very responsive, even in the middle of the night.

+ -1 moreMarty from Smylie came out and gave us an estimate, I then upgraded the furnace (after 1st quote) and Marty gave me another quote and then came back with a lower final price. It was exactly what I wanted. They set up the installation date. Aprox 8 days after agreement. Ralph and Dennis showed up on time and the next day the complete job was finished. They were professional, complete,very neat and very friendly. They explained everything in detail and I was totally satisfied with the entire process. Finding Smylie was like finding a "great mechanic". I will use them for all the services they provide from now on. They have given me "TOTAL" peace of mind. THANK YOU SMYLIE-ONE !!!!!!!!!

+ -1 moreI had made a review of various contractors a couple of years back and I found them to be conveniently close by, and I got a good deal when I had the entire system replaced. They take care of everything. They put on the booties and come in with all their equipment. They are ready to take care of everything, and they do. I like them. The price is very good. They call ahead of time to schedule, and then a reminder, and then they call within about half an hour that they are showing up to make sure that everything is ready.
Description of Work: Smylie One Heating Cooling & Plumbing came and did the air conditioning service check. They checked the full function of the air conditioning system. The checked the compressors and the cooling capacity and made sure that the filter was clean. It was an overall complete system check. They had replaced my entire system replaced a few years ago.

I would recommend them though we didn’t go with them. He called back several times and he sent me emails with pictures. He called me when he said he would and he was there when he said he would be there.

Monday afternoon, they came to our home and developed three estimates, on the spot, to help us decide what type of water heater we would use to replace the broken water heater and where the new one would be located. They answered our questions and provided information we could use to assess the estimates. Then they scheduled the water heater replacement for the next afternoon. The next day they were on time and replaced the water heater in a couple of hours. The final cost was the exact cost in their extimate. We were happy with the entire process.

He repaired the faucet, and while he was in our basement, he noticed that our water softener filter needed to be replaced. Since we had a few new filters down there, he went ahead and changed it for us, no charge. He also inspected our water pressure tank and hot water heater, and since they were both quite old and in need of replacement, he worked up a quote for both jobs while he was here. We appreciated the advice and are deciding whether to replace the appliances.
Description of Work: Our tub faucet had a severe leak, so we called Smylie One to have it repaired. The faucet was repaired and is working perfectly.

Description of Work: First off thanks to Angies list for hooking me up with Smylie One out of Chesterland Ohio. It was a pleasure to do business with them. From my first Email they responded right away. I then called to have someone come out for a quote, again prompt service. Cary Venturella came out and showed what true professional organization Smylie is. He looked over my project and gave me a very fair and honest price. I agreed to have them do the the work and asked about the 10% senior discount as shown on Angies list. Cary was unsure and refered me to the office. The next day I called and spoke to a very nice gentleman (I forgot his name,SORRY) who was also unsure of the 10% discount. He called me back within 2 minutes of my call to inform me that I would get the discount from Angies list. He set up an appointment within 4 days and thanked me for my call..On Monday (Oct 31st) Smylie called several times to inform me that Cary was still on his call and gave me an ETA update. Cary showed up at 4PM and immediately went to work. He was fast,very friendly and very efficient. He did everything I wanted and then some. I felt sorry for him he must have taken his shoe covers off and on 20 times. My wife had several questions about future upgrades which Cary gladly answered. He was done in an hour+half. Cleaned up after himself and even hauled away my old toilet. The final price was exactly what we had agreed on and Cary left with my THANKS for a job well done. I also joined there Partnership Plus Plan to insure great pricing on future work. Thanks again Smylie One and thanks to Angies list. PS- Work performed was a new gas line to my fireplace and replace my toilet.

Initially when I had the boiler replaced, the technician was familiar with older homes and boilers, gave me options, was prompt with returning my phone can. The servicemen have been considerate and always call on their way, and clean up after themselves. When I have had concerns, they were responsive and didn’t charge to come to check. I would recommend them.

+ -1 moreThey gave me a "window" of between 3:00-5:00 which I've never experienced with a contractor doing a sales call. They called me at 5:00 and told me they would be late (Duh!). An employee showed up at 5:30 but did not seem knowledgable in the areas in which I needed estimates. He was courteous and did his best, but was new and wasn't familar with all of Smylies service offerings. He told me he would capture the information about my service needs and I would receive an estimate in the mail. Three weeks later I have not received an estimate or a phone call. To offer a time "window" for a sales call, miss it, send an unprepared person to gather information, and then not follow up with the estimate was very unprofessional...and a waste of my time.
Description of Work: They were supposed to look at my basement drain and 1st floor bathroom and quote me a price for some plumbing services (Basement backflow valve installation, toilet installation, etc)

They cleaned up after they themselves and carefully covered over where the old furnace was in our storage room (that is behind the family room) greatly expanding the amount of space we have to store things. Their customer service from beginning to end is top notch.
Description of Work: Smylie One installed a new HVAC system in our family room that is on a concrete slab. We had been trying to figure out what to do to properly heat and air condition this room as the HVAC floor vents had rusted out and it would be very complicated to jackhammer the concrete floors to try to reinstall vents and we didn't want the look of an overhead vent going through the room. Smylie One suggested a ventless Fujitsu Split Air Conditioner and Heat Pum system that turned out to be the perfect solution to our problem. It hangs on the wall unobtrusively and works beautifully. The lines from the HVAC pump run from the back of the unit into our storage room behind it and outside to an external unit which they hung on the outside wall so that snow accumulation during the winter won't interfere with the unit's operation. Smylie One also removed the huge old 1960's gas furnace and capped off the gas line.
