Hoban Pest Control

Reviewed findings with me and applied necessary sprays. Didn't try to sell me extra services. Very impressed with entire process and very satisfied with work done.

The tech was professional and friendly. He found and eradicated a carpenter ant nest that had been there for quite a while that our regular exterminator never found. We no longer see ants in our second floor and patio.

Bob, the technician, was very friendly and took his time explaining all that he was doing. He even walked around the outside of the house afterwards and sprayed other areas we had pointed out that had given us problems in the past. Wasps haven't been back since.

NOTE ON GRADING: I graded Hoban a ?C? rating on price because their charge for the job was likely at the industry AVERAGE based on my research. It may be unfortunate that this ?C? could skew the overall average grade, even though it reflects that they charge the ?going rate? for their services. Perhaps this is something that Angie?s List could address. Instead of A, B, C, D, F for price, it could be graded as ?Below Expected?, ?At Expected?, or ?Above Expected?. I?m sure that many ?A? ratings for price on reports would likely break down to the prevailing ?expected? price one would pay for a service. Not that Hoban Pest Control needs another positive report, but here it is. I am a resident and maintenance coordinator for a small condo association in NR. We had periodically been using another pest control contractor over the years, so when we had another rather nasty swarm of yellow jackets took up residence behind the vinyl siding in the patio of one of our units, I called them to handle it. Long story short, they botched the job and for some reason were uncooperative in following up with scheduling corrective action within a reasonable period of time. I searched Angie?s List based on proximity to our location and then by services and ratings, which led me to contact Hoban Pest Control. I phoned them late on a Wednesday morning and the very helpful man who took my call (I did not record his name) explained the nature of the pests, gave me a quote for their service, and scheduled us for the next morning between 10 and 12. On Thursday around 11-AM I received a call from the Hoban office to let me know that their tech was running maybe 15 minutes behind the morning?s schedule, so he may be in a little later than the noon appointment, which was not a problem, and I appreciated the notification. The tech arrived about 12:10, postponing his lunch, and did a thorough job in treating the problem. By the next morning there was not a yellow jacket in sight. I have added Hoban Pest Control to our list of preferred contractors for our condo association.

We've been using them for years and they give us a 10% senior discount. We've had no problem with them and would definitely recommend them.

Their service was excellent. I called late one afternoon and they were at my home before noon the next day. The company rep explained exactly what he would be doing and what I should expect. He was neat and completed the task quickly and efficiently. No more bees! I was impressed with the people I worked with from Hoban Pest Control. The woman I first spoke with was very friendly and understood my problem. The young man that came to complete the job was friendly and answered my questions without a problem. If I need this type of service again, they will be the company I call.

At about 2am when I got up to feed my newborn I noticed five bees in our house. We called at 8am that morning and they were here by 11 to take care of it. They were very kind and knowledgeable. We have not had a problem sense then and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Very prompt service. Killed all the yellow jackets and removed the nest (along with a piece of damaged ceiling). Treated the point of entry with a powder to deter further yellow jackets from entering the ceiling. Quick, efficient and reasonable. I had to do most of the clean up myself though.

After killing 3 or 4 yellow jackets in my home I realized there must be a problem. I took a good look outside and saw swarming bees up in the gutter. It was Labor Day, so I just called to leave a message for service. I did not expect a call back the same day. To my surprise I received a call and was given an appt. for the next day. Barrett came right on time. He was friendly and professional. He knew exactly what to do as the best course of action. He climbed up into the attic and removed the nest. We were given a 90 day guarantee for work performed in case they returned. My husband and I were very happy with the service and will call them again if needed, as well as recommend to others.

put a down about 20 traps in place in my house that I didn't even know exsited, and lots of poisin that's safte for pet. I think $188 was worth not having to fighting the mice war anymore. NO MORE MICE YAY!!!!!

This is my second year using Hoban Pest Control. I live on the lake and have spider problems (and i'm terrified of spiders). Hoban sprayed my patio furniture in the back and if the come back they come out again and take care of it. Their scheduler is sweet as pie. Hoban does a great job. I would highly recommend

I called Hoban Pest Control at 10:00 am on Friday morning and the technician arrived at my home at 12:00 the same day. He assessed the problem and eliminated all three yellow jacket nests as well as applying a whole house treatment to prevent further problems. The technician was punctual, friendly and very professional. I have never used an exterminator before, but if I need one again I will definitely call Hoban.

When wasps began making a happy home under the siding of my house, I called Hoban. Bob came out that same day, identified the wasps, treated the area, and even told me how to handle similar situations in the future on my own. Then, for a very small additional fee, he checked out the house to help find the entry point for a rat (that I had already caught previously). He found the entry point, which was a huge relief -- now I finally know where the rat entered. In addition, he walked all over the outside of the house and gave me pointers on where to use expanding foam, any small areas mice could enter, etc. He was professional, thorough, and friendly -- I'd definitely use Hoban again for any pest concerns.

I originally called Hoban Pest Control about some very small beetles that I had found in the house. The person I spoke with on the phone was professional and very friendly. She had me take photos of the bugs and send them to her for identification. We scheduled an appointment to have someone come to my house a few days later. This morning, Bob from Hoban showed up right on time, very punctual. He was professional, friendly and thorough. He identified the bug type, found the source, and treated the inside and outside of the house. Bob was also very knowledgeable about the products Hoban uses when treating. I would highly recommend Hoban to anyone looking for a reliable, professional and efficient pest control service. A+!

Hoban assessed our entire home, asked pertinent questions, and analyzed the situation. He told me exactly what he was going to do, and explained that Silverfish are extremely difficult to get rid of. I had realistic expectations of what the outcome was going to be. Due to his experience working with Silverfish, he knew the previous company had neglected to use the proper equipment on the roof of our home. Additionally, he knew that they had not treated the exterior. He was factual about his information. He never "bad-mouthed" the previous company. Merely, he explained what should have been done. He was thorough, and did not change his estimate, even though he had to put in additional time, and effort to ensure that he do his job correctly. We are incredibly grateful for eliminating what was an ongoing issue for us, no matter how much we researched the bugs, and companies' knowledge of Silverfish. This was our first time using Angie's List. Wish we had used it years ago.

They showed up in time and sprayed the interior of the house. The technician found the "nest" of the ants. The Hoban technician even went into our crawl space. The problem went away in just 24 hours! It was too cold still to spray outside. So, the technician said that he would be back a couple of days/weeks later to spray the exterior of the house when the weather would allow it... and he did. We had another treatment scheduled for mid summer. Indeed, they did show up a couple of weeks ago to spray the outside for the mid-summer treatment! Bugs are annoying. It's nice to see that fighting them is easy with Hoban. I like when companies tell you they will do something and... they do as expected! I recommend Hoban.

I called 7/30 when I discovered the wasp busily working inside my mail box. A person answered the phone and set up an appointment for 7/31. The young man came, sprayed and removed the nest and sprayed underneath the eaves just in case. He was finished in less than 15 minutes. This is the third time I've used Hoban's over the years. I don't have them on speed dial, but I do have them in my rolodex.

It was AMAZING! Seriously...what a great experience. I've been getting some landscaping work done and they stopped because they spotted a nest and told me to find an exterminator. So of course I went on angies list and Hoban pest control came up with a 10 dollar off coupon. I called them at 3 PM and told them my situation. He arrived at 3:40 and we had to locate the nest because I didn't know exactly where it was. He ended up finding it and treated it. He was done by 4:05. It was a great experience he was very professional and courteous. If I ever have a pest problem again I will call Hoban pest control!

Dan came over, I showed him where the ants were as well as the dust and residue in the cracks and crannies and he went right to work. Pretty much moved everything out of the way, sprayed everything down both inside and out and haven't seen hide nor hair since.

They were very professional and seemed to know what they are doing. I think that at the end of the day they helped a lot. I just bought an apartment building that was really infested and so I was using them. I just decided I could find the same chemicals and treat it more frequently on my own. I don't think I am going to continue using them. It wasn't because they didn't do a good job it's just because I can do it on my own. They were good.

I noticed far fewer mites on the siding, but did ask them to come back to eradicate all of them, which they did. They also were kind enough to diagnose what turned out to be a clothing moth problem in my wool rugs-- I had thought I had pantry moths! That was a lifesaver, because I had to get the rugs out of my house and taken to Arslanian Bros. for moth eradication and cleaning. He even helped me to carry some of the rugs out to my porch.

EXCELLENT,EXCELLENT,EXCELLENT !!! I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH CARPENTER BEES FOR 5 YEARS. I TRIED 2 OTHER EXTERMINATORS PRIOR TO TRYING HOBANS. THE OTHER EXTERMINATORS TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO SPRAY. HOBANS WAS AT MY HOUSE FOR OVER AN HOUR. THEY INDIVIDUALLY TREATED 12 HOLES THAT CONTAINED NESTS. THEN THEY SPRAYED DOWN THE ENTIRE HOUSE INCLUDING WALLS, GUTTERS, ROOF... IT HAS NOW BEEN ABOUT A MONTH SINCE THEY SPRAYED AND THE BEES ARE STILL GONE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN 5 YEARS THAT THE BEES HAVE NOT RETURNED. THE OTHER COMPANIES HAD TO COME BACK AND SPRAY A SECOND TIME AND THEY STILL COULD NOT GET RID OF THE BEES. HOBANS GOT RID OF THE BEES ON THE FIRST TRY. I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH THEIR WORK AND I AM A VERY PICKY PERSON.

Saw a mouse that Monday morning and made a call and they were out that afternoon. Had never worked with them before but read great reviews here. Had originally called another local company who we had worked with for years and they told us they could come out Wednesday, so waiting two days. Even after we told them there was a 5 month old child, they said they couldn't come til Wednesday. Hoban was prompt, courteous, and sounded concerned when I mentioned the mouse. Tech came out, listened about my sighting, and then proceeded to investigate. In a short amount of time he was able to determine point of entry and that there was no visible signs that they had been living in the house. He baited and said they would be back the following Monday and to call if anything happened between now and then. He also advised how to plug the hole they were coming through. Very knowledgable overall, I received a 5 minute review and lesson on mice and felt that he was trying to educate me and help, not talk down to me. They called and confirmed the Monday appointment the morning of and they showed up early. A different tech came out but it was great to have a second set of eyes. He was equally knowledgable, courteous, and extremely helpful. Found a small area that could have been an entry point, felt uncomfortable about leaving it, so he got some caulk from the truck and filled it in for us. Overall, I would use them again and again. Actually cancelled our contract with the other company and signed with them for their exterior spraying for pest control. Thanks Hoban for taking great care of my family.
