M & R ROOFING & REPAIRS, LLC

M&R is one of the few providers in the area that does flat roofs. It is a specialized skill, and some companies charge an arm and a leg for it. Fortunately the price for this job was reasonable, and the work was mostly done well. They actually came out on a Saturday to do the work, and finished up on Sunday. I was impressed at their dedication to getting the job done. Only problem I ran into was the transition between the shingles and TPO wasn't sealed correctly at first. When it rained, it leaked quite dramatically, so I called them and someone came out two hours later and managed to fix the leak that day. It's been good since then.

Very honest. Found no pressing promises and gave me an estimate on how long until I needed a new roof. Impressed with the person who inspected and the person taking the calls.

The owner came out, was punctual, asked me if I had any areas on the roof in particular I was concerned about, and then explained what he was going to do before starting the work. He did the job, then gave me a verbal report of what he found and what he did. He also told me my roof was in good condition and did not try to sell me extra services, which I REALLY appreciated. He promised to send a written report including photos, which I received by email the same day.

The service went very well. The service tech was punctual and thorough. He took care to brief me thoroughly on the condition of the roof and what he did to it. In short, he was great and did a fine job. I was very pleased with his work and the company.

I purchased a big deal from him to have work done on my roof. In the fine print it does state that it has to be a walkable roof and mine is not.

Very courteous and responsive. We have a leaking skylight and few minor issues that came up on a home inspection. He fixed everything without extra charges. We would use them again!

I was not home, but my wife was home during the service. My wife thought he was very honest and upfront. His report states he spent 1:45 minutes for this service. So, at $98.00 this seemed like a well worth investment. I will give him a call for an estimate on replacing the wooden chimney collars on two of the three chimneys. This report has been updated on 8/26/2013 after receiving his pdf on the job description of work performed.

They were local. They're very personable, attentive and honest. They are just roofers. I don't mean that's a negative as much as they do not get into some of the general contracting. They're a bit more limited and that's one reason the price is lower but they seemed to be entirely confident and responsive. They're very nice to deal with and they're very good about their follow up.

After my initial call, they came out, inspected the roof and provided an estimate promptly. The work was done at about the time they had estimated in spite of all of the rain. They replaced several pieces of roof sheathing that were in bad shape. Rain also interfered with the shingling process, but the synthetic underlayment was water tight. All in all, they seem to have done a good and thorough job. Their clean-up might have been a little better, but this was not a significant problem.

It went smoothly, met expectations, and fulfilled the deal requirements.

The owner, Matt, arrived on time, as scheduled, and fully explained to me what he was going to do. He was very polite and most professional. As he did the inspection, he kept reporting to me what he was finding and what he was going to do. He secured my flashings, painted the chimney, and nailed down some loose shingles. On the garage roof he replaced a few missing shingles. He pointed out to me a problem with a part of my roof and I could see that there indeed was a problem. His company is going to submit an estimate for repair. I am very happy all around with the service and will definitely consider using this company in the future.

Prompt for scheduled appt and roofing replacement quote very close to insurance adjuster estimate. Paid for materials, roofing work delayed due to weather and schedule. However, Oliver kept in touch so I was not concerned the job wouldn't be completed. The roofing work was done about 6 mo after originally thought, however was done. I was not charged for labor until the work was complete. I would recommend them and use them again if needed.

Although it was a little frustrating that the work needed to be rescheduled several times, it was completely understandable that rood work can't be done when there's ice and snow on the roof! We always got a call letting us know of the decision to reschedule. We were very pleased that, in addition to the sealing around chimneys and other flashing, they were able to replace ridge cap shingles--all for the Big Deal price.

During the Summer, a drive-by, out of town "roofer" inspected my roof while standing in the front yard. He gave me a price for replacing the roof and offered to work with my insurance company. When he left, I called my insurance company - because I did see some flipped up shingles. My insurance inspector examined the roof and said it was OK - yes there were some shingles that should be sealed. He told me to have someone over for minor repairs. So, when I saw the Angie's Big Deal for roof inspection and repair, I jumped on it. And then the weather went down hill - it rained and snowed and sleeted. Temps dropped and the wind picked up. Since roof inspection and repair requires a dry roof - the original scheduled visit was pushed forward due to wet conditions. That appointment was pushed forward due to the layer of snow on the roof. Again and again scheduled appointments were canceled and rescheduled. Mostly, M&R called me; sometimes I called them. At last a dry sunny spell occured and the roofer appeared as scheduled. He told me what he would do. I asked if he could give me an idea of how much life was left in the roof. He crawled all over the roof then told me what he had discovered. Then he went up to do some repairs. When he finished he gave me an idea of the life left in the roof and how much a replacement would cost. Then M&R mailed a printed report to me.

I purchased the Angie's list deal for a roof inspection and routine maintenance. The scheduling was easy and they completed the inspection as agreed a couple of weeks later. I received an emailed summary report the day of the inspection citing the sealing, securing of shingles and other minor items. The overall process was seamless and it was good knowing the roof was in order for the winter season.

M&R Roofing removed a satellite dish from my roof and repaired the shingles where it had been attached. I bought a coupon from Angies list for winter maintenance package and they were willing to modify the services to meet my needs without charging extra. They were able to come out and take care of my needs immediately as time was of the essence because I was selling my house and the buyers listed satellite dish removal/repair as one of the remedies in the contract. They did a great job and I would definitely recommend!

Excellent. I called they gave a verbal estimate. They came out inspected the entire roof first tacked down loose shingles. Repaired the upper peak of the roof where the shingles were missing in about a half hour total. Great guys honest and hard workers, very professional. I would use them again.

Excellent. They quoted it over the phone drove out and inspected it and gave me options because I had ice dams on both the front and rear of my house. They removed the heavy snow on the front and rear 6ft in from the edge so the ice would melt. I was getting long icicles hanging and pulling down on my gutters. I would not hesitate to use them again very, very honest and professional. Did quick and accurate job. Also gave me options on what I would like to do...which was much appreciated..as a homeowner. Some contractors give you one scenario and that's it, take it or leave it and some don't even show up for appointments. These guys are pros from start to finish!!!

I have a two-story house. A small portion of the first-floor family room juts out in the back. In the past, I'd had problems with ice dams forming in the gutters of the roof that covers this portion of the family room. On a Saturday afternoon in early January, I noticed water stains on my family room ceiling caused by more ice dams. I called M&R Roofing and spoke with Matthew, who was very nice. He told me he'd see if he could get someone out to my house yet that day. He checked with his brother Reuben, who was able to come over later in the afternoon. Reuben was also very nice and professional. The weather was getting warmer, and Reuben recommended against trying to break up the thick dams. He said he could rake the snow off the roof, but the charge would be $175, the company's minimum charge for any job. I thought the charge was high, but I was concerned about the potential for more water damage so I had him do the raking. He could easily access the roof from the deck without having to use a ladder. Raking it took under 10 minutes. When he was finished, Reuben told me about some electric heating cables that could be installed in the gutters to prevent ice dams in the future. At my request, he said he would email me prices for both the cables alone (for me to install) and the cables with installation to be done by M&R. It has been 9 days, but I haven't received an email. I really wanted to be able to give these young men a better review, because they were very nice guys and came out the day I called them. I have to rate them lower because of their high price and lack of an email response regarding the heating cables. (After Reuben left, I also realized that he had not given me a receipt for the $175.)

It was nice I purchase several Big Deals and they were the first company to call me and schedule an appointment. They informed me that I would need a new roof due to improper installation from another company. They did nail down some shingles for me

Excellent Service. This was my first time using this company but certainly not my last. After checking Angie's List late yesterday afternoon, I called and was able to make an appointment for today. They were punctual and polite and did a good job of removing the ice dams on my roof. I will definitely call this company again for any roofing needs.

They responded to phone calls. Were on time and would have been early if I had been home. Took pictures of repairs since I couldn't go up on the roof. Will see if the leaks continue after repairs.

Matt was on-time and very professional. He did a complete visual inspection as well as physical inspection of part of the roof that he could walk on.
