BRANDSTETTER'S KANGAROOF/ROOFING & REMODELING

They were very responsive to my initial request, but it took a few days longer than promised to get the job completed. They were professional and very neat and effiient.

They did a good job. They were very professional. We had one small problem with a leak and they came and repaired it right away. They took care of the damage so it really wasn't a problem at all. I was satisfied with the work. They were a little bit pricier than another guy but they were able to do a little more work than the other guy quoted. Overall their price was fair.

I spent probably between $4300 and $4500. The owner had one or more teams and I don’t think I ever met him in person. The crew that came out seemed to be Latin workers. They had a local gentleman who was their project manager. He wasn’t bad, but we worked very hard on a detailed contract. I don’t know if I had pursued on a detailed contract or they produced one. A lot of the estimators just say that it would be some square feet and give you a number, but I wanted a very detailed contract. I actually had entered into a contract with another roofing company. At the last minute, someone from that other company came back and said that they made a mistake. They said that they couldn’t give the roof I wanted for the price we had agreed upon. They said that they had to charge me extra. I told them that I couldn’t change the terms since they had already agreed to it. So, I took my contract at the price that the other company had agreed to and I called up Brandstetter’s. I told Brandstetter’s about the cost of the contract that I had with the other company and what they were going to do. I asked them if they wanted to pick up that contract and I told them that I would give it to them. So, they agreed to take that detailed contract. Overall, Brandstetter’s did a pretty good job on the roof. I thought that their estimate was very reasonable for what they did. However, I have an older house and there was some damage to some architectural wood where they were using the power nail gun. It splintered the architectural wood which was basically going through the shingles and through the wood. There was like an overhang on the roof. If you stand on the ground looking up under the overhang, it looks like bead-board wood. It’s architectural wood. The underside is meant to look ornamental and it’s not just like plywood. While they were actually on the main part of the roof, they were using the power nail gun which is typical. However, it shattered the wood. If they went up into the attic, they could see all the spiky nails coming through. So, they didn’t think about the overhang and it shattered the wood which was painted with white paint. Then I basically told them that they damaged it. I also told them that if I had to sell the house, I couldn’t sell it with the damage. So, they said that it would cost more to hand nail that part of the roof. I told them that nobody told me about it and nobody offered me that as an option as well. I also told them that they decided to damage the wood to stay within the boundary of the contract. It would have been okay if they would have told me before. So, we had a little bit of a debate on that, but they agreed to come back. Other home owners might have pressed for all the wood to be removed and redone. However, I just let them clip the nail heads off, sand the part where they had broken through the wood and paint it. Overall, they did a good job. I think home owners don’t know enough about roofing to foresee certain problems that they can get into with the roofing company. The roofing company is also not going to highlight till they are done with the job. A lot of times, there are extras that they will quote upfront and will say that the roof is going to be $4000, $5000 or $10000. I could tell what wood Brandstetter’s had replaced and I stayed at home when they put the roof on. I had pretty good control over how much extra money I was spending on wood replacement for the older wood in my home that that had to be replaced so that they could put the shingles on. I felt that Brandstetter’s was a good company. If they are still in business, then I think the guy that runs it does try to do his best to go above board with what he is doing. He is probably more reasonable than some of the other bigger companies. There were some bigger companies that came out and their estimate was double of what Brandstetter’s estimate was. So, the price charged by Brandstetter’s was good.

The gentlemen who provided the quote were the same one's who did the repair. Very professional and courteous from start to finish and the quality of the work was excellent.

I later learned that each "boot" only costs $30.00 at the store, and that the installation does not take very long. Charging $300.00 to put on a $30.00 part is excessive.

It was good. We were happy with it. They came in with a large crew so the roof wasn?t off for a long time. It took them 3 days but they were not here all day each day.

They were on time, professional and performed quality work.

They came when they said they were going to come. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very friendly and punctual. They didn?t cause any damage. They were very good and they knew what they were doing. They did what they said they were going to do. We received many estimates and they seemed more professional. They were honest with us. They told us what we needed and it was left to us. They didn?t pressurize us to install a new roof. So I liked that. They didn?t bad-mouth other competitors. They said that they were the best compared to the other companies, which I liked and that was a plus to me.

Brandstetter placed the original leaf guards on the gutters when replacing them several years ago. They still allowed debris to get into the gutter and there were some concerns with water dripping over edge of gutters. Estimate was to replace the leaf guards, replace the skylight and repair several shingles that had cracks. Once the estimate was accepted they were there in just a few days to do the work. Once completed, there was still an issue with the shingles not sitting flat on the backside of the house just at the edge of the roof. After talking to the workers and the owner, they agreed to come out and fix the issue which was not addressed in the original estimate. They roof/shingle edge now lays flat and looks great. Leaf guards are working and the gutteres appear to be draining correctly. I am very happy with the results!

They came out and were on time. They did job on one of the hottest days of the year. He seemed hesitant to provide a written contract. I had to ask Mr. Brandstetter for a contract. He was hesitant to follow up correct any issues that came up. I have a mansard roof and they were not lined up correctly. The rubber roofing material had some odd white streaks. He claimed it was talc, but when you try to wipe it, it does not come off. They were also supposed to replace two gutters, but they left the ends off. They did not think to get that done. They forgot to replace a part of the soffit that should have been put up before the gutter was replaced. They were supposed to re-flash couppola and he acted surprised when I brought this to his attention. They also broke the TV antennae which cost me 17 more dollars for parts, they did climb on the roof and attached the cable. They were not very tidy and did not clean up very well. There were lots of nails left. The truck they used did not have a tail gate and they parked it in front of the garage door. This caused the shingles to be lodged between the truck and door which caused asphalt shingles to leave streaks on the door. I had to clean this off with mineral spirits. He did come back and look some issues, but he did not correct the misaligned shingles. Despite the fact that I asked him, he never provided proof of worker?s compensation insurance. There was also a spill in the garage that I was not told about that caused the paint to come off the floor.

Were very responsive about scheduling and completing estimate. I didn't have it done right away because I was surprised at the cost. I received other estimates that were lower, but I decided that the reviews I had read of Brandstetter/s work made it worth the extra. They came out and reviewed the original estimate which was over 6 months old at that point. The job was scheduled and completed very efficiently and professionally. It looks like a new garage and I am very pleased.

Although we got several estimates from roofing companies we liked Brandstetter's KangaRoof. It didn't hurt that they had already roofed 4 other homes in our neighborhood. In the year since they have roofed our house they have gone on to roof another 5 homes in our neighborhood. We liked this company because they did not hire illegal immigrant workers. The workers were courteous and professional and did a good job of picking up all garbage each day. It took about 5 days to do our roof and gutters. A contract company through Brandstetter handled the gutters and did an excellent job. Our roofing job happened to fall during the hottest week of the summer of 2009 and simultaneous to our kitchen being remodeled so the house was in chaos. We did end up with a few patches of burned grass and burned tops of bushes as debris that was thrown off the roof landed on top of shrubbery and the lawn. This only happened the first day and then they were very careful to make sure if debris landed on something that it was removed to the sidewalk or driveway. They did cover all the landscaping carefully. One of the things that struck us was how cheerful the team was who worked on our house. Good guys, good supervisors. They were pleasant to be around and did quality work at what we thought was a very fair price. We replaced our gutters because the original ones were pulling away from the roof and when it rained water poured behind the gutters and down the face of the house. The gutter contractors worked efficiently and quickly and we have had no problems since. We would definitely work with this company again and we have recommended them to everyone we know who needs a new roof!

Did a good job overall. Could not find exact match to my old k-style gutter, so had to replace longer section than I had hoped. Otherwise gutter looks nice. Responsive and professional. Most likely use again when necessary

Mr. Brandstetter was the only person who actually took the time to meet with us when we were getting estimates. His price was a little higher than our other estimates, but I felt that the personal service and the quality of workmanship was worth it. It took a couple of months to get our roof scheduled, but the work was done in one day, which was important, as I have small children home during the day, so only one day of interruption of our nap routine. The final product looked great and Brandstetter did a great job of cleaning up after the project was complete, gettng up all shingles and nails to prevent injury to our dog or children.

Overall excellent job. The workers were all very friendly and presented themselves in a professional manner. I would not hesitate to contact them again for future business.

Everyone from the office staff through the billing dept. did an excellent job. They became part of my family with activity books for my kids, bring me the newspaper, bring up garbage cans, etc.When they left my yard was cleaner than when they arrived. Thank you Kanga roof. You're the best roofing company in town!

They did a great job on our roof. The clean up was unbelievable! Great communication and very friendly people.

They were efficient and they did their job well. I am happy with the results and would be happy to use them again in the future.

We had wind damage from the hurricane remnants that blew through in September 2008 and noticed a small patch of water-stained drywall in our garage. I called KangaRoof for an estimte on a new roof, drip guard, and the drywall. I had a site inspection and full estimate within days of my call. The sales person, John, was easy to work with and explained the roof replacement process in detail and spent time inspecting the attic and roof. Afterward I found out that my insurance company would not pay for a new roof and advised repairing it instead. I called John for a new estimate and he sent it. After I sent the signed contract back John advised me that someone from KangaRoof would call me to schedule the appointment. Two weeks later no one had called so I called and spoke to someone in the office who advised she'd check on it and get back to me. She called me back and had the crew there that day. That delay is why I gave a "B" for responsiveness. Otherwise we were pleased with the service and price.

It didn?t run very smoothly. They ran into a lot of issues, some of which weren?t their fault. They were very responsive in terms of trying to resolve my complaints. They must have come back about 15 times to repair everything. I paid another roofing company to come and make sure that everything was in order in the end. I would not use them in future.

It went very well - Terry was very good about making sure that our complaints were taken care of. Customer service and quality of workmanship are top priorities with this company.

They were excellent, and we were pleased with the work. I would highly recommend them.

Communication was not good and then the paint color of the box gutter was no where close to the rest of the house or roof. I asked them to repaint it the color of the house trim or the roof and he said they did. It was NEON and did not match. We did not come to a good result and I was dissatisfied and will not sue them again.

They were quick, and they have a very professional service. I highly recommend.

Service was very professional. Came when they said they would, completed the work and left with all the mess. No complaints.
