Selby came out, listened carefully to wife's concern, checked out dryer thoroughly through various tests.  Nothing wrong with dryer.
Gave wife tips about drying cycles and why she thought dryer was exceedingly hot.  Wife's fears allayed.  Twenty-some year old dryer still going along nicely after clean bill of health by Selby.  Price of a service call.  Will call on Selby again as needed.

It could NOT have gone any better.  We appreciated his courtesy, his ethics, his professionalism, and really liked the fact that he tried to save us money by trying to solve the problem ourselves.   Who does that these days? We don't know of many people who would turn away possible work & teach the customer to try to do it on their own.  We will definitely refer him to our friends should they need an appliance repairman.  We'd give A+ to all the above categories if we could.

This could have not gone better.  Two service calls within two days, the job is complete and at a very agreeable price.  They were timely, professional, courteous and I would not hesitate for one minute to use them again or recommend them.

The diagnostic was quick and accurate.  The representative was knowledgeable and professional.  I was very happy with the cost.  I had the identical service performed two years ago and it cost me 15% more than I paid for the most recent service.  I am very satisfied with the results.

I called Selby on Thursday afternoon, 5/29/14 after reading the great reviews on Angie's List.  He promptly returned my call within 5 minutes. We scheduled an appointment on Monday, 6/2/14. Selby McGowan arrived on time and was very polite. I showed him the dryer and what I thought the problem was and he directly went to place a 'makeshift' knob/dial on the dryer so we could immediately use it again to dry our clothes. He told me that he would need to order a new dial and he would call to schedule a followup appointment to install it.
He would not accept payment during the initial visit, even though he got our dryer working again. He told me we could pay him when he returned to complete the job.
Selby called on Wednesday morning (two days later) and asked if he could come back out that day to complete the job as he had the new dial. We scheduled a time and he arrived within 5 minutes of that time.
He promptly replaced the dial and made sure the dryer was working properly. He accepted our personal check for the total amount of $64.00 ($50.00 service call + $14.00 for the part / dial).
I highly recommend Selby Appliance Repair and will use him in the future. Thanks Selby!

I called Selby to come out and repair a washing machine, I had to cancel due to a scheduling conflict and reschedule. Then a friend looked at the washer and "said" he repaired it so I cancelled Selby.  Of course because I did not rely on a professional to fix my problem it wasn't actually fixed. Even though I was embarassed and thought Selby might decline scheduling with me a third time, his service call price is great and previously he had done work for a friend who recommended him so I called him anyways figuring he is a professional and would probably want the business. I expected him to say "no thanks", but I did not expect him to reprimand me for
having a friend look at the problem and tell me more than once "you probably made the problem worse".  Even though I felt bad and wanted to give him the business, I was so uncomfortable  by the reprimand that I said no thanks and found someone else to repair my washer.

Mr. McGowan and his assistant accurately diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator, ordered the part and installed it the following morning. They were professional, punctual and got the job done for far less than I had anticipated!

When I got home, he was in the midst of informing my wife of what parts we needed for the repair, but if no work was done there would still be a $50 service fee. He was clean, neat, and explained things well. He went ahead and told me what parts we needed and where to get it. He did charge us the $50. We basically paid for him just for information. It was my fault I did not ask him how much he would have charged for the repair. I feel like he was looking out for me to save the most money, but I am not sure.

Kitchen aide refused to supply part to Selby saying that we had to use a kitchen aide servicer. So Selby did not charge a service fee even though he made the service call and found out what was needed. Very professional and we appreciated not being charged even though we agreed to a service call.they have a good policy.

Selby and his assistant showed up very quickly after I called. They were extremely nice, and VERY reasonably priced. it was a simple fix, and they were honest and charged accordingly. I will always call Selby for any appliance problem!

Selby returned my initial phone call on the same day and we made an appointment for repair. He appeared promptly and the repair was made as promised for a very reasonable price. I felt confident in his experience and would recommend his services.

Very business-like, replaced the compressor relays with a 3-in-1 relay, helped reassemble the fridge and was done. Very brief service call but fixed the problem. I thought price was fairly reasonable compared to another quote I got that day, but I really haven't investigated cost further since then. Overall very happy to get fridge up & working and appreciated availability to repair so quickly on a Saturday afternoon.

Took two trips because dryer was Korean made and used non-standard belt, which I ordered off Internet.  No additional charge for second trip.  Also adjusted my furnace humidifier at no charge.
