We purchased the quartz top from another store who subs out the installation to them. While shopping for the top Marbleworks was great. Christopher couldn't have been more helpful. That quickly turned around when upon completion of the instal I refused to sign their paperwork of satisfaction. We were not happy that the seams left in the quartz were visible despite being told while we were shopping for them they hide them and make them barely visible, like they were hardly there. We were even shown a sample of what we could expect to see and feel. Both of our seams are visible and easily felt while running your hand over them. In fairness to them one isn't all that bad and you do need to look harder to find it, but the other one all you need do is move toward it and it becomes clearly visible. Frankly, I don't care what claims they make, they did a lousy job matching the quartz pieces together, the flow in the graining doesn't jibe at all and the seam job is glaringly obvious. The call following the installation issue was like we were dealing with an entirely different company. All Christopher would tell us (repeatedly) was that this was his top installer, and through looking at a picture the seam was "tight" while we kept telling him it may be "tight" but very visible and rougher then we believe it should be. They did send out a field supervisor who ran a credit card over the seam and concluded it was smooth. Mine click, clicks, but I guess he had a magic one. You know all I can say is, we paid a lot of money for this top, we expected better customer care throughout the entire process. Once they have your money, if there is an issue, customer service goes out the window and they become defensive, and combative, and offer no solutions or resolutions. Do yourself a favor, go elsewhere.

My salesperson was Christopher and he was great. He patiently took me through the whole process. Took me to look at slabs and found me the perfect quartz based on the color, etc. that I told him I wanted. Every time I see this Quartz in my bathroom I smile because I absolutely love it. I had to make a few changes along the way because of some miscommunication with my contractor, but Christopher did not mind and accommodated everything I needed. He responded to emails and phone calls immediately, every time. I picked up the pieces myself and my contractor installed them, everything fit perfectly.

If you're looking for quality, fair pricing and honesty, I do NOT recommend using Marble Works Design Team. These are my updated comments in response to Marble Work's untrue and outrageous rebuttal to my original review. (1) I was NEVER given a written or verbal estimate from Marble Works before the counter was installed so I did NOT agree to the $5,500 price - twice the going rate - or the existence of an ugly seam. I requested pricing and a design plan after Marble Works made a template for the counter (normal procedure in the industry) but never received it. Marble Works installed the counter badly when I was not at home, and then hit me with an inflated bill when it was too late for me to protest. (2) I did NOT "cancel my credit card" after the work was completed. Marble Works was paid in full as per their invoice. (3) I did NOT "withhold monies" from Lifestyle Space Design, Marble Works' long term associate/cohort. In any case this review is not about Lifestyle Space Design. (4) I NEVER approved the completed job so Marble Works has no "signed proof" or anything else from me stating that the job was acceptable. (5) Marble Works DID leave a prominent blue mark on the seam of the counter (see pictures below) that cannot be erased. When I saw the completed job I showed the blue mark to my general contractor and immediately called Marble Works to discuss. Marble Works refused to look at the mark and denied everything. (6) It's true that Vetrazzo cannot fix prices and individual job pricing does vary somewhat - but NOT by 100%. Also Lifestyle Space Design did NOT get any estimates other than Marble Works' due to their long term relationship. Therefore Marble Works was NOT "less than other fabricators" since there were no other bids! After the job was completed I called and spoke to Ms. Barmaksiz at Marble Works to discuss the over billing, blue mark and ugly seam. Ms. Barkaksiz curtly replied that since their associate Lifestyle Space Design placed the order using my credit card, Marble Works could charge us whatever they wanted and I had no recourse. Ms. Barmaksiz stated that "this is America, it's how business works" and hung up on me. I was so disappointed with Marble Works' poor job and refusal to fix their mistakes that I saw another Vetrazzo fabricator to discuss the situation. The other fabricator looked at the job specs and gave me a proposal stating that they could make the counter from one slab without a seam, and priced the job at approximately half Marble Works' price/square foot. The other fabricator had no concern about "potential for breaking" (Marble Works' excuse for bad design) and said they would never fabricate my counter with a seam for aesthetic reasons. I am currently considering hiring the other firm at my own cost to redo the horrible job done by Marble Works. I'm very disappointed that Marble Works didn't make the slightest effort to repair or replace their overpriced faulty work. After all they certainly spent a lot of time and effort to post a lengthy libelous review about me. Disgraceful!

Response from Marble Works Design Team, Inc
I am very disappointed that you were unhappy with your counters. We have not received any phone calls for any repair work which we would have scheduled right away for you. Your project manager and Lifestyles Space Design have worked with us for years and have not received any negative feed back until now. The pricing that was given to you and your designer was much less then other fabricators. However, you as a client have been cc'd on every email and had no problem agreeing to the price in order to get your counters finished, but then you were really dishonest when you cancelled your credit card payment after the job was installed. Maybe this is the reason Marble Works never received a service call for the repairs. You have also withheld monies from Lifestyles Space Design for services rendered. Vetrazzo has a "suggested" retail price which is only that, a suggestion. Vetrazzo as a company can not fix any prices to fabricators which they sell slabs too. This "suggested" retail prices is also based on a minimum square footage used of 45 sq ft. Your counters were only 20 sq ft which makes sense that you would pay more per sq ft since the cost of the slab was not covered by the square footage that was used by you. The additional price of $2,000 that was given for the windowsills that were measured throughout your apartment, which included ONLY the labor and installation of the windowsills. The price of $2,000 DID NOT INCLUDE material cost at all. All of this was explained through email and phone conversations with your designer and project manager, which was then forwarded to you. Marble Works has been in business for over 20 years. We stand behind our work and unfortunately we run across some clients who take advantage of our services and hard work. It is very unprofessional of you to slander any of my employees and mention them by name. Marble Works did not leave that awful stain on your counters. Marble Works has signed proof by YOU ([Member name removed]) that the counters were left in perfect condition. You have shown your unprofessionalism further by not paying other vendors that have provided services to you. Falsifying conversations regarding the cost and also the placement of the seam are very unprofessional. You were aware of the seam that was to be placed on your kitchen countertops since the very beginning. Your counters are located within three walled areas which also have an under mount sink cut out and cooktop cut out. As a professional fabricator we can not and will not bring a counter in one piece if it has the potential for breaking. Your countertop could not have been in one piece, and this information was provided to you as early as templating. In summary I hope that this informs everyone that there are people out there who will prey on hard working small business owners.

Great. They performed as promised. The demolition of the old was on schedule and fast and clean. The install was on schedule and on time. A problem with the dishwasher was addressed quickly and to our satisfaction. It was not their problem. The problem was due to a prior floor installation. The two people who did the installation were outstanding. They were on time and did as perfect a job as could be done. And they cleaned up wonderfully. We also need to give a specific compliment to Chris our sales person. He was accurate and very responsive. He quickly responded to phone calls and questions. He did a great job. Overall a great experience.

Went to Marbleworks' stone yard in Yonkers, picked a stunning granite slab. They guided us through the process of laying out the stone's natural pattern with reference to sink and range location. Additionally they came to my home, measured, made templates and then fabricated the stone to our specifications. They installed it in an afternoon and it looks spectacular.

Every person at Marble Works was friendly, responsive, and professional -- sales persons, office staff, and installers. I heard about Marble Works from a co-worker. I brought my floor plan to the shop and was greeted by a friendly sales person. I browsed quickly as I was already very close to a decision before going to the shop. I was immediately given an estimate and a date to have my counter measured. The person who prepared the template was very accurate. The shop was able to get a pattern for me that other shops told me was unavailable. It arrived even sooner than expected and was installed sooner than expected. The workmanship was superb, the product is wonderful, and the price was competitive. I highly recommend Marble Works!
