A & N Plumbing

Moved in late February '07's, stove not usable, fridge a health hazard, water backed up from the sink to dishwasher. So I obtained estimates from several contractors, chose one recommended by neighbors. May '07, I was ready to begin. Wrote to coop board with my plans, Home Depot design, measurements and visual. Included relocation of the stove, several feet. Board in process of rewriting renovation/alteration guidelines and did not accept my plans as submitted. They required me to submit architectural drawings. When this was done fortunately, I found A and N on Angie's List. Spoke to Nick by phone explaining that I felt close to beginning. He came out to inspect, described HOW the water and gas lines should be run to new locations and why. He even came to my office to pick up legible copy of the design. His estimate was fair and I signed the contract immediately. Then learned that the coop architect was delaying the project and required filing of the plumbing with NYC buildings dept. A and N agreed to file. In December '07 received a coop letter of approval, but no written contract until February '08. the contact required insurance coverage beyond what A and N or my contractor had. After an appeal to the board for a reasonable accommodation I was given the go ahead in March, 2008. Nick was otherwise occupied but Anthony took over. I found him to be as personable, and professional as Nick. He arrived promptly for every scheduled appointment, and got the job done. These guys are GEMS.

He came down with an estimate, and he arrived on time. Did a walk-through with his partner. They gave me a number of what it was going to cost. He was a good person to deal with with, very straight-forward guy to deal with.

They did a wonderful job, and they were very nice. They came right on time and the final price came in below the estimate because of prep work we were able to do ourselves.

So, I came to Angie's List and searched their database, liked what I read about most, but this service proved to be the best. For starters, I never heard from the first company I called and the second company called me back over a week later! It was different with A and N from the beginning. After my initial call and voicemail message, Anthony called me the same day. He was punctual on meeting couple of days later to give me a quote and he volunteered three possible ways to complete the job AND faxed me itemized quotes detailing the projected costs for each approach. All quotes were very reasonable. He and his assistant came out as scheduled and completed the job in one morning. Left everything neat and clean and walked me through everything that was done. I've already referred my neighbor for her bathroom remodel.

They were wonderful. They were punctual, friendly and they explained everything they were going to do. Their prices were reasonable and I would highly recommend them.

Anthony was very responsive and came out personally to do the estimate. The charges included the price of an expensive toilet and insurance binder charges. Although my building's management requirement held up the start date, once we were able to secure a date, the work was done quickly, professionally and cleanly. I have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone.

Called on Monday, appointment made for Thursday. Workers arrived promptly and executed the work perfectly in less than 45 minutes.

They were helpful in the estimate stage, giving us valuable insights into what equipment to purchase. They showed up early on the workday, worked quickly and cleanly, dealing with the snags working with the old, original fixtures they were pulling out with no issue. They were gentlemen and skilled workers, beginning to end, not once providing anything to perpetuate so much as one plumber's joke. We have found our plumber.

Our relatively new tub was leaking into the basement and after 1 quick look at the job that was done they immediately saw that the drain pipe was crushing the hot water intake pipe. I was quite impressed with the service provided and their honest and detailed assessment of the problem. They showed up promptly on time and went to work quickly on the task. While there I had asked them also look at the overflow of another tub which was also leaking. Without question or comment they resolved in a matter of minutes by their lifting the drain 1/4 of an inch up and also gave us an access panel to the pipes where there wasn't one. All of this was done in less than 1 hour and 1/2. I thought the cost and service were more than fair and have now found a permanent plumber moving forward! Thanks Aand N!

Excellent. They have always come exactly when they said they would and fixed everything. When they couldn't repair something they recommended someone who could. In an emergency situation when they couldn't come immediately they arranged for someone who could.

I was very impressed with the knowledge, punctuality, and professionalism of the people that did the work. They clearly knew what they were doing. Price was very high.

Kitchen sink was a difficult job but all the various needed parts/bolts were in the plumbers' truck so they were able to complete the job that day. When told the sink still had a very small leak the next day, the company immediately sent their men over that day to remedy the situation.

Very well. They responded to my first phone call (every call for that matter) very quickly and came over and estimated the job within a week. They were patient with my probably stupid questions. They came back to install the sink I had purchased, which, as it turned out, did not fit together properly and had to be returned. They were very good sports about this and just went as far as they could with preparing the space for the new sink. I asked if they would get me another sink and they did, the same one I had wanted in the first place. They came back a third time to install the sink.

I did not supervise the work, but the building superintendent did. They were prompt and courteous. I was able to communicate with Nick, the plumber to discuss the project. He was open and listened, and above all he did not appear to have an attitude. The affected tenants were satisfied with the work from my understanding. The only downside is they do not perform restoration work.

It went great! Anthony responded to my call promptly, arrived when expected and did the job CLEANLY and efficiently. He also offered some additional precaution parts to keep on hand for the toilet, because the tank had potential to leak.

Called me back right away. Sought out a hard to find piece to do repair. Came promptly. Did good work. Very nice guy, too.

Well I live in Queens, New York and they are in the Bronx about a 30 minute ride and they would not come out to estimate the job so I was disappointed about that.

Fabulously. I was surprised by how quickly, in less that 1 hour of my inquiry a call was placed and scheduled for repair...they were prompt, professional, and clean.

Our water heater went out one day so the next morning I looked on Angie's List and found A and N Repair Service. We called and Anthony came over at twelve that day, gave an estimate and called back later that day to say they had the water heater and would be there the next day. The two men arrived on time, very pleasant, and installed the new water heater in less than two hours. One of the most efficient repair procedures I have ever seen. Two thoughts, I didn't research water heaters as to their Energy Star rating and second, the bill from A and N did not break down the labor from the cost of the water heater, information you need when registering the water heater. Would definitely use this company again and certainly recommend them.

Great work! Nick showed up right on time for a free estimate, did a thorough inspection, and assessed the problem. Apparently, there was a hole in my toilet tank and that particular tank is difficult to replace. Nick called to update me frequently as he tried to find a replacement tank to mitigate the cost. Ultimately, we had to replace the whole toilet. Again, he kept me well updated on when the parts were available and when they'd be able to do the work. Anthony showed up right on time, fixed the shower faucet leak and replaced the fixtures, cleaned out the shower drain and replaced the toilet in much shorter than the estimated time frame (less than 1 1/2 hours, when I'd been told maybe 2-2 1/2). They cleaned up after themselves beautifully. Communication and interaction was always very friendly, respectful and professional. I would use them again in a second and highly recommend them.

A and N is a good company with a good reputation. Thanks to Angie's List I found a great company. I will use them again if I need grinder work done. They may be a little pricey but they do good work.

I checked Angie's list for a reputable plumber. I settled on A and N Repair because of the great reviews they received. I couldn't be happier with their service. We met on two occasions. At our initial meeting they arrived exactly on time. He estimated the job and asked me to call him when I was ready. On the day of installation Anthony and Giovanni arrived again on time. They wore special paper booties on their work shoes so as not to soil my rug as they made their way to the bathroom. Anthony took pride in his work. He did everything he could to insure that I was pleased with the installation. I never got the impression as I have with other contractors that they were there to quickly "bang out" the job and move onto another one. They took there time and cleaned up. He was not constantly distracted by cell phone calls while he was working. I would definitely call them again.

Very fast service. Came for an estimate on arranged date and then did the work within a week of the estimate. Courteous and fair pricing.

I was impressed on how responsive they are after you call them and say you'd like an estimate and the professionalism of the workers they send out. They also suggested ideas that I had not come up with myself that I ended up going with.
