Anthony (one of the owners) and Keith were the two primary guys - both were great. All work was done well, cleanly and on budget. We had multiple appointments and the team always arrived at the agreed time - which is key when you're trying to organize it around your work schedule. Plus they're nice people - which matters when you're inviting them into your home.

Job went very smooth, no complaints. Work in various apartments done well. Still had one vent valve which they replaced leaking and they corrected it right away.

It was a stressful situation. I found myself suddenly in charge of a 70+ year old house with multiple plumbing problems while, at the same time, caring for my wife who had just been released from the hospital after a long illness. I had checked out Angie's List and decided to call A and N REPAIR SERVICE INC. I spoke with Nick, explained my situation and we set up an appointment for later in the week. After I expressed a sense of some urgency, Nick stated that work could begin on-the-spot if I accepted the estimate. Later in the week, John arrived on time and methodically went about reviewing the different problems, giving me his thoughts and ideas along the way. He called in for an estimate, I agreed, and he began working. I found John to be thoughtful and flexible in handling each problem. For a clogged/slow draining sink, after doing some further investigation and determining that the clog was some distance into the pipe, he expressed reluctance to using a snake since it could do more harm than good with the aged pipes. We discussed other options and I decided to hold off on this for the time being. Later on, after fixing a burst exterior faucet/pipe and turning the area water back on, he discovered and replaced a clogged and corroded pipe under the basement sink. In both cases, he got me an updated estimate before proceeding. In the end, we were very pleased with John's work. He spent almost four hours at the house and due to the particular problems he was facing, had to make several trips out to the truck, going up and down several flights of stairs each time. But he never got flustered. I found him to be knowledgeable, methodical and thorough. He also was courteous, friendly and sensitive to our situation. Many thanks to John and thanks to Nick. I'm sure we'll be calling on A and N REPAIR SERVICE INC. again and I highly recommend them to anyone in need.

They were confident and friendly. They were also expensive but I can't really compare them to others.

I found Anthony on this list and gave him a call. He responded within minutes. My issue was that Kohler had discontinued the model. Anthony did the research on what to do (replace parts or the toilet) and I decided to replace the toilet. It took an extra week because Kohler initially sent a damaged toilet- not Anthony's fault. Once a good toilet came in, we scheduled an install date for the next day. Anthony showed up on time, completed the job in an hour, and took away the broken toilet. I would definitely use him again.

I called A and N after joining Angies list out of desperation. It is very difficult to find a plumber in my area that won't charge outrageous prices. The service was excellent. Anthony responded to my call immediately and we arranged for someone to come over to check the problem the next day. John was my service person and he worked with me regarding my tight time restraints. He was on time, completed the job efficiently and I was quoted a fair price. As well, he gave me an estimate on two other jobs that needed to be done and will be back to complete those as well. I was very satisfied with the service and will use them again for all my plumbing needs.

Just before a tenant was going to move in December 1st we discovered a leak in a sewer vent in the cellar. Not a pretty sight or smell. I contacted four plumbers on Angie's List after my manager had poor results even getting any of the three plumbers he contacted to show up. A and N REPAIR SERVICE INC was one of the first to see the work and the first to quote on the job. I waited four more days for 2 of the other quotes. Another 2 never quoted at all even though they had seen the work. The prices were all higher and with more hassles built into their quotes such as not cleaning up after the job etc. A and N REPAIR SERVICE showed up on time (worked the job into the day after Thanksgiving) and came back to install a cap they needed to order. They did a few other things and billed fairly. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Great guys - thank you Angie's List for the recommendation. The actual work was viewed by my manager so the actual quality and price levels are not mine but his.

Anthony was either right on time or a couple of minutes early. Anthony and his team completed the work efficiently. Anthony also carried the old toilet down to the trash room for disposal. I had an issue with one of the Hoffman valve fittings being stripped; Anthony came back out and retapped the hole (which fixed the problem). It was very refreshing to deal with a contractor that does what it promises on time with friendly service.

John and his helper were really nice and did a professional job. They were careful to make sure there were no leaks and took a lot of time to check the work they had done. The only glitch was around the price, when they originally came to price out the job, I showed them the leaky faucet and they said it would have to be replaced. Nick at Aand N told me where to buy the faucet and in that same conversation gave me an estimate of $375. However, when John came, he said the faucet installation was not included in the price quoted to me ($375) and that it would be an additional $150. I honestly think that there was a miscommunication somewhere in the process and I would definitely use A and N again. Nick was concerned enough that he called me to sort it out. I elected not to have the faucet installed because of the cost.

He is very personable, responded quickly and very nice and did a good job. We've used him about three different times. Price noted includes all of those visits.

Anthony called me back promptly after I left a message on his cell phone. The next day he came and checked out the problems. Late that afternoon (a Friday) he faxed me a written estimate. On Tuesday morning, he called and was ready to do the work. The crew (he had three other men with him) came on Wednesday and completed all the work within 2 1/2 hours. They were very conscientious and thorough. I am very pleased.

The experience could not have been better! They were supposed to be at my house at 9:30am and they called to ask if they could arrive a bit earlier. They showed up at 9am, did the job in about 20 minutes and gave me a much better price than the first estimate I received from another plumber (who was 2 hours late!). These guys were really nice and I would definitely hire them again.

I called this morning and got a return call within half an hour, and after describing the problem with the leaking toilet was given an estimate of about $200 and told someone would be at my house before 2PM. The two repair men arrived shortly after 1PM, and after I showed them all three problems above they went to work while I went back to a conference call. They quickly fixed the two problems they could then called me down to show me what they did. They explained that they had taken a picture of the failed part in the shower fixture so that they could track down the part needed for repair. Polite and professional from start to finish!

Well, wish there was an A++++ rating, because I'd give it to them. I only waited a couple of days for my estimate; they're nice guys, with a sense of humor, ON TIME or EARLY!!!! They sent my estimate in writing over FAX. Promptly scheduled our repair date; replaced all the old galvanized leaking piping in one bath with copper, 3 sets of faucets including a very difficult install in a weirdly configured kitchen sink, provided and replaced an old leaking ancient toilet. Clean, neat, nice, integrity, what more can I say. Hire them!

I am not sure where to begin to relay my experience with Aand N Repair Service Inc. except to start by saying I have found my lifelong plumbers. I called Nick to schedule an appointment to receive an estimate for replacing an old leaking radiator. He arrived on time and provided me with professional an honest guidance to best meet my expectations for the job. After working out a date Nick s guys arrived on time at 8am ready to meet the challenge of removing and replacing, what all agreed to be one 6ft and incredibly heavy radiator! These guys were amazing, they were smart, courteous and very neat. I was so impressed with all three of them. They made a job that could ve been very stressful for a homeowner worry free with lots of humor. It s no surprise to me now that when I found them on Angie s List they had all high ratings. This is one of the most professional, knowledgeable, honest and friendly companies I have ever encountered. I am grateful to have found both Aand N Repair Service Inc. and Angie s List who I will patronize from this moment forward. Your services and truly A+++.

They were very punctual. It took them about 15 minutes to install the radiators. $850 is a lot for a 15 minute installation, 1 4-coil radiator, and 1 18-coil radiator. They ended up making over $500/ hour! They told me on the phone it would take awhile and I'd get a flat rate, not an hourly rate to make it more fair. They did not support the side of the radiator that has the floor pipe. It's hanging in mid-air. When they returned b/c I was having pipe problems due to the building (not them), the plumber who came did not seem to know the answers to any of my questions. He had to call his boss. It was nice that he didn't try to charge me and didn't accept a tip for coming back. When I pointed out 2 drops of water coming from the bolt he said it was "fine". I had to talk to his boss to get him to tighten the bolt. That is not very professional, especially for $500+/ hour. We are having problems with whistling noises coming from the steam valves. We never had that problem before. Another plumber suggested that they might have put in damaged valves. Aand N's plumber took no responsibility for it. I would not use them again. I had read such great reviews about them, but it makes me wonder if they were written by friends.

I called Aand N Repair Service 3 days ago and made an appt. for the plumbers to come today between 8 and 8:30 AM. John and Joe arrived right on time. They told me that they would have to see whether they could turn the water off without having to get the super to turn off the water to the whole line of apts. They told me the various possibilities about what might need to be done in order to fix the leak. I gave the go-ahead. It was all finished in an hour. The guys had to find a replacement for part of the hardware in their truck and there were other difficulties that I can't really describe because I don't know the terminology, but Joe and John did a great job. They were perfect. Professional, efficient, friendly and effective. I'm going to have them come back in a few months to put in a new shower body and upgrade my bath.

Anthony responded to calls promptly. If I did not reach him immediately, he called back the same day, within a couple of hours. He evaluated the work I wanted done in a home visit scheduled the same week I called. When he came to install the unit, he spent some time being sure that it didn't leak. So far, so good! Throughout, he and his assistant were very polite, considerate, and professional.

Anthony arrived early for his 8:30 am appointment (I saw him sitting outside in his truck, waiting for the agreed-upon time). He was personable and friendly. He spent considerable time testing out the leak, which turned out to have been a one-time occurrence, so no further work was needed.

Pros, on time, job OK so far (no leak) and job done quickly. Cons, don't know whether they had plumber's license, wanted to charge extra for expanded insurance coverage (i.e. policy naming tenant and coop as insured) which we declined, job was priced significantly lower by other licensed plumbers, once before they came on another plumbing job and after giving an estimate a few months before, raised rate several hundred dollars saying original estimate was mistake.

Anthony was our hero. He had to deal with some tight spaces and a cabinet installer who was not good at communicating where cabinets were going to go. Because of this, Anthony had to come back at least one more time than expected. Despite this, Anthony delivered the job at the quoted price. He was terrific at answering the phone and staying in touch.

I needed to run a pipe to bring water to my roof deck. Anthony found a inexpensive and less troublesome solution, than many of the other plumbers I interviewed. He was punctual, professional and very responsive. He came with a less experience assistant to do the work, but Anthony oversaw that the work was done correctly. Overall, I was pleased and will definitely use this company again.

They arrived on time and completed some difficult work in a small space in a timely manner.

Anthony is an honest and responsible plumber. He responded within 20 minutes to my initial phone call and scheduled an appointment with my subtenant at the first available opportunity after the 4th of July weekend. His site visit and subsequent inquiries regarding a permit to correct a gas leak in my rent controlled apartment were conducted quickly and accurately: he told me that it would be a waste of money to attempt to get a permit and that he would not even charge me for his time to assess the work and give me an estimate. Hire This Man: he is one of the few working people with integrity who still do business in NYC.

They did great work, but we ran into two small problems during the project. Nick is so eager to be punctual and fast that he started installing the access panel without double-checking if it was the right location. We had discussed the location in passing, but I was not convinced that it should be there. In the end, it cost $500 extra to change the location of the access door to a better spot. Secondly, Nick never mentioned that, when purchasing the shower body, I should look at the size of the rugh. When he ripped out the wall, it turned out that the shower body was too large, and I thought he should have mentioned to me that I check the size of the rugh. However, knowing we had to purchase a rugh that day, Nick went out of his way to put me in touch with a contact of his for a cheaper price. Also, despite the small problems, Nick changed the o rings on the kitchen sink for free and remembered all the details of another project six weeks down the road when I called him, which I felt was pretty impressive. He responds immediately to any call and is willing to give advice. I would highly recommend him.
