Scheduling was easy, team arrived quickly (and on time), assessed the situation, helped me through the multi-day process to get the building's water shut off and the repair done. Everyone in the business seemed to know of my situation and were all working hard to get it fixed. Highly recommend!

Shower faucet was broken. It was impossible to shut off. Aand N showed up on time and fixed it. They quoted a separate higher price for not being paid in cash, and did not give a receipt -- it is obvious that they are scamming on their taxes. A couple of weeks later one of the faucets they had fixed broke again in the same way. They charged us again for the repair, which I thought was unfair since their fix did not work.

They were on-time, professional, and courteous. I have never used this company before, but without a doubt, if needed, I will call them again or recommend the company with a high recommendation. The best part about the company is that they warranty their work.

I didn't use them. It was a complicated job and they had to figure out where to bring the pipes in and do the work. The person that came was very nice and he did exactly what he said he would. He gave me a price that was reasonable. However I didn't really like the way he was going to do the job. He told me the way it could be done, but it left pipes exposed. I really needed a contractor because after he had put holes in everything, somebody else would have to come and fix it. It didn't make sense. He was very nice and very prompt. He was totally fine.

The company (A and N Repair Service Inc.) got back to me very quickly and they came to my home right away. They assessed the situation and gave me their opinion and recommendations. Although no services were actually performed, they really helped me and were very courteous, pleasant and above all, I felt they were very honest. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

They arrived on time, immediately assessed the work required, and provided an estimate on the spot. Upon approval, they completed the work within 30 minutes, had all the tools necessary, and left the place clean.

I called Aand N because my drain had completely clogged and needed to be snaked. I also had a bathtub faucet that had been dripping for years and was getting worse. They were easy to contact, pleasant on the phone and came quickly the very next day. The gentleman who came to perform the work (Keith) was very polite and professional. He snaked the drain and then asked for cleaner to clean the mess in the tub! He laid down a towel so he didn't get anything dirty and did the work very competently. They charged $160, which I thought a little high, but not unreasonable. A part was needed for the drip, so he wrote down the part number and indicated that someone would be calling me. After not hearing back from Aand N for 3 days, I called and told them that I was able to obtain the part myself (strangely, found it on amazon) and asked them for an estimate to do just the work. They told me $160 and were able to come the same day I called. Keith came back (with an assistant) and again, the work was performed efficiently and competently. Overall, my experience with Aand N was very good. While they didn’t call back as promptly as expected regarding the part, I believe they were probably just looking into it and were busy (and it was not an unreasonable amount of time that went by). I suspect that I could have gotten someone cheaper for the snaking, but I think you probably get what you pay for and it's not worth saving a few dollars and getting someone not as competent or honest. I found the price to replace the part about what you would expect for the expertise of a good plumber. They were honest, polite and efficient and I will highly recommend them to everyone in my brownstone apartment building and anyone else who is in need of a good plumber.

The work went very well. I don’t remember the details about the work, but I was very pleased with them. I’d use them again in the future.

They put in the correct valves and all is well. What a relief!!!

They came quickly and observed the boiler. They said, it needed to be serviced by a boiler tech. which this kind of work they dont do. I wasn't charged for travel or anything else, they were professional and pleasant and they gave me a honest opinion. I read on Angie's list they had a good reputation and if I need plumbing services I will definitely call them again.

The leak was fixed.........the 200 bucks seemed prety high for a tube, a small piece of pipe and 10 minutes of time. I then showed same guy my bathroom sink stopper that was broken. He went to his truck and came back with two stoppers. he told me I was VERY VERY lucky that one of the stoppers (pop-ups) was the right fit because pop-ups just don't fit like the one he had. The fellow left....I showered and went to brush my teeth.....The water filled up the sink in less than a minute....the stopper was NOT the right fit. It gets a lot worse; I called and spoke with Nick. Nick went right to the hard sell, telling me that the entire faucet unit had to be changed because there's no way to find a pop-up that would fit..... I am having my decks redone and the general contractor told me I was being ripped off and that he would simply replace the pop-up..............But the A and N REPAIRS guy took $25.00 for it.....setting me up to get me to spend another 3-400 bucks...... BEWARE of these guys who just happen to be at the top of the list on Angie's list. I wonder whether or not this will make it into the reports on the list.

They were fine. I looked at their ratings and the seemed to have a lot higher ratings than the other plumbing company I was using before and that I was not happy with.

I like the way this company works. I called A and N Repair Service Inc on Monday and spoke with Anthony. I identified 3 problems: a leak in a main waste pipe in the basement with possible additional leaks where water was dripping down from right above that (1st fl kitchen sink and 2nd fl bathroom tub); 2nd problem was a very slow-draining vanity sink; and 3rd was a shower stall without any water. We set up an appointment for Friday - Anthony and Nick showed up at 8:30 sharp with the 2 Joe's. The 4 of them came in - we started in the basement and worked our way up to the 1st fl and then the 2nd fl. The whole time, they listened to me explain what I was seeing and experiencing, threw their thoughts back and forth on the causes/solutions, and then agreed on an approach that would cause the least damage. Nick told me that he couldn't give me an estimate at that time because of all the unknowns and, as scary as that sounds, since I've had good experience with this company in the past, I accepted that from him (Note: Nick did give me a call after the first day to advise me of the running tab). Nick and Anthony then left and the 2 Joe's got to work. They would end up spending 2 full days at the house, dealing mostly with the first problem of the leaks. 'Joe the elder' and 'Joe the younger', as I referred to them, worked very well together as a team. Different ages, different levels and types of experience, different temperaments...but they discussed the approach to solving every problem before tackling it (including consulting with Anthony when needed), they shared the work well, and they cleaned up and bagged the debris as they finished each part of the job. The house is 80+ yrs old with much of the original piping so there were numerous challenges and surprises along the way, especially the clogged condition of the main house trap and the toilet stack...it was good to get them cleared out. But, bottom line, by the end of the 2nd day, the leaks were repaired, the slow-draining vanity sink was fixed, and the cause of the waterless shower stall was found to be 2 valves in the basement that had been shut off for some reason. Overall, I thought A and N Repair Service did an excellent job for a fair price and I would definitely use them again.

They were very professional and it was a good experience overall. I would use their services in the future as well.

Everything was great. They came immediately and gave me an estimate. The estimate was right on. I had no problems with them. Their prices were a little high, but the quality of work was good and they came right away. They are very neat and very nice.

I called Aand N and described my problem. They scheduled a visit to see the job. The plumber arrived early to view the job. One of the owners called later that day with a price. I scheduled the job; the plumber arrived on time and completed the job in less that two hours (no small feat since he had to move the washing machine, shut off the water in the building, work in a pretty confined space, replace everything, turn on the water and run a test cycle).

Anthony returned my call almost immediately. He was flexible about dates/time but did suggest early so that he could be more sure of being on time.He turned up on the button, discussed both the work and the price ahead - he then fixed two problems and worked at length on the dripping faucet - but it had to be replaced. He then recommended a brand and gave me clear details as to what I needed to order. I trusted that he had fixed everything properly. I then had a very similar experience on his second visit. He and staff were pleasant and cheerful. As I hadn't needed a plumber in a long time the price per hour surprised me - think that's called sticker shock. But I doubt I could have found anyone more professional or customer oriented - or more reasonably priced..

They were very efficient and nice young men. They seemed to know what they were doing. I think that the price was reasonable.

I do suggest thinking of a range of scenarios of potential fixes to the problem and discuss those with the service manager before he dispatches a crew. Specifically, discuss the type of pricing that would apply to those scenarios. In my case, John and Joe had to run out to get a hose that I would have ordinarily thought would have been somewhat standard to carry in their truck. That step cost an extra $75. At any rate, they fixed the problem and I recommend them.

I am extremely impressed with their professionalism, and will definitely use them again in the future. If they tell you they are coming in the morning around eight, this does not mean the usual 9 or 10 AM. They came 20 minutes early! Also, I had asked them if it was possible to complete the work by 12 PM since I had an appointment later that day; they were gracious enough to bring 4 guys to do the work so everything was done (including leaving the basement cleaner than they found it) by 11:30.

They were good amd on time coming and going. Work was done well. They were not cheap, but not excessive. **UPDATE for work on 7/13/09:** In March of this year, through Angie's List, I engaged A and N Repairs to repair plumbing at Apt 1A, 50 Riverside Drive, New York, New York 10024. I paid $1,195 + tax for the work. In July of this year, around July 4, I called A and N to complete work that had not been done. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood, with three doormen, and had not been occupied since A and N's visit in March. The point of all this is that the apartment is not a slum or run down. On the July 4th weekend, I noticed that the sink that A and N has charged me to repair was still leaking. I called A and N to complete the repair they charged me for in March. A and N did repair the leak, but they charged me an additional $558 to do so. I advised A and N that it was not right to charge me twice for the same work. I am sending this report to you because it seems unjust to be charged twice for the same work. I doubt there is anything you can do, but I thought you should know of my experience with a contractor rated highly on Angie's List. Sincerely, Frank Ruddy

They were able to fix the kitchen faucet with no problem. The handheld shower was not able to be completely repaired, as he indicated I would need to replace the hose. However, it does not leak as much as before. As a result, they reduced the price quote for the job, without our asking for it, which was nice of them. Only problem was, when John was repairing kitchen faucet, apparently his belt buckle created a number of scratches on the stainless steel counter. Did not notice until he left and I had to have them buffed out. In future, he should use something to protect such surfaces.

The work went very well, once we got past the many delays caused by the COOP board of my building. A and N were very patient and once permitted to work, were there on schedule and did the work in half a day.

They did an excellent job. Anthony and Nick diagnoses the scope of work from my telephone calls by asking the right questions, honored their coupons and saved usable parts to reduce the number of needed parts. Johnny was on time and came with all the necessary parts. He was very polite and answered all my questions. It was a please working with A and N Repair service.
