This was the third or fourth time we had them do this job.

Marcos and his helper were super beyond courteous and informative. He inspected my roof and recorded damage and came to my house the next day in the rain to instal a tarp on my roof until they fix my roof top. GRADE A! Thank you Marcos!

We had to reschedule a few dates, but it was worth the wait. The Strong Hammer team was friendly and performed some small repairs that other contractors wouldn't even call me back about. I may need to complete some additional roof repairs and will certianly call Strong Hammer.

They were quite responsive in setting up the appointment. On the scheduled day of work, they never showed, and never called. Nor did I receive a response to my phone call asking where they were.

Long story short, waste of my time. Called for a quote, was given a date a week later. Took off work to wait for them to come, got a call 15 min after he was supposed to be there that they needed to reschedule. Annoyed but thought Ok these things happen. Rescheduled for a week later, the guy came and we spoke about work to be done and he said he would have a quote shortly thereafter. Waited a week, no quote. Called and was told one would be forthcoming, never received quote. Called again a week later, but never received quote. What a waste of my time.

We were surprised by the estimated cost, until we saw the materials used and the scope of the work. The project took a month, with only a couple of days lost due to weather. The crew showed up early each day, went right to work and cleaned up the site each day before leaving. They were very courteous and kept us up-to-date on progress & problems. We feel they went above and beyond in their work, making sure the finished product was not just sound, but beautiful. The type of gutters we have are built into the roof, so relining them required removing tiles, placing a layer of water/ice proofing material and the copper lining (fabricated on site) and then replacing the tiles. The crew also replaced dozens of broken tiles. Because the gutters were in such bad shape, we had an issue with areas of rotted soffits, which had to be ripped out and replaced. Some of the corbels were badly damaged as well, and exact copies were milled to match the original undamaged ones. The crew then painted the entire soffit & all the corbels. One side of the garage had a gutter so badly rotted that the entire thing had to be rebuilt. Even with all the unexpected repairs that cropped up, Strong Hammer stuck to the original estimate. The crew worked well together, and were very safety conscious. We really feel we "lucked out" hiring them to do this work!

The owner was present himself and was very professional . Did a good job explaining the process and showing the areas of issues in the gutter. Spent a good 4 hours doing the work since I have a 3 floors house. Hosed down the gutters as per my request. Sent me a quick email on an estimate for replacement of some of my gutters.

I contacted Strong Hammer in an effort to receive an estimate for the replacement of my roof and gutters for a house I was in the process of purchasing. Based on time limitations with the seller, there was a limited window of time that I could have the estimate done, and I did not provide Strong Hammer much notice in anticipation of the time. Despite this, Marcos was more than willing to accommodate and scheduled a time for the estimate that fit within our limited schedule. He showed up promptly as scheduled, and was thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable during his tour of the property. He answered all of our questions and was very patient. Even more so, we were trying to coordinate with him and a mason, and had asked if he could wait a few extra minutes for our mason to get there. The mason ended up being late, which meant that Marcos had to stay there an extra 20-30 minutes, which he gladly and patiently waited with no complaints. He was so professional and polite, and I was very torn about not hiring him for the work. The only factor in not choosing Strong Hammer for the work was a fairly large difference in price- I received a lower bid from another contractor. All things considered, if the prices had been close (even if Strong Hammer came at slightly higher), I would have absolutely chosen Strong Hammer for the work simply due to how impressed I was with Marcos. I have confidence that I would have been very impressed and pleased with the quality of the work done, given the impression I received during the estimate. I will absolutely keep Strong Hammer in mind the next time I should need service/work done on my roof or gutters.

Marco came on time and was very courteous. He checked the roof and removed all the branches. There is no roof damage and he fixed the tilted vent cap. He took a picture of the rubber flushing and showed it to me. He said the rubber is deteriorating and eventually would need to be replaced but he recommended that I don't have to do it right now. I've offered to tip him but he refuse and said it his job to do so. Overall, I am very happy with the service provided and would write him a good review.

We have had issues with water seeping through our chimney into our stone fireplace for a long time without finding the cause. We had previously had the chimney inspected and the entire front of the house and chimney re-pointed. We called Strong Hammer to further assess what was going on. Marcos, the owner, assured us that with the cost of the work he would find the source of the leak. After replacing some flashing and working on the chimney, we were still getting water into the house. Marcos came back and added a custom made chimney cap and waterproofing sealant at no additional charge. That still didn't do the trick. There was obviously something very peculiar about our issue as he had said in 15 years of doing this kind of work only one other time has he not been able to identify and fix the issue. As such, he applied our previous cost of the work toward replacing all flashing on the chimney, removing and replacing the valley flashing, and installing an ice and water shield over the roof deck. That did the trick and we have finally seen no more leaks where other contractors had failed us. I would recommend Strong Hammer for all of your roofing/gutter needs, big or small.

Second time using Marcos and his crew from Strong Hammer Contracting; same first class service. The main part of the job related to the garage roof. An issue with the drip edge and flashing under the shingles at the front of the roof meant that water did not run off the shingles and into the gutter, but rather ended up running down between the gutter and the header above the garage door and down into the garage. In heavy rains, this caused the garage to flood. Marcos immediately saw that the existing flashing and drip edge at the front of the roof was much too small and went to work with his crew peeling back the shingles and installing a new drip edge and flashing. What impressed me most was the following: after about an hour of work to pull back the shingles, lay down a new ice and water shield underlayment and install new aluminum drip edge and flashing (which was custom made on site) Marcos told his guys to stop and basically start over. He'd noticed as the work was being completed that the wooden header above the garage was a fraction too tall and was effectively flattening the pitch of the roof near the front edge. This, combined with the previous inadequate drip edge and flashing, was the exacerbating the water bypassing the gutter. His workers then spent another 90 minutes or so peeling back the roof, cutting the header to size and reinstalling everything. Marcos believed that the work that they'd already done would have probably been enough to stop the problem we were having. But Marcos wouldn't take the chance and wanted to do a proper job of it. This is because he is a man of integrity and he stands behind his work. Now even in the heaviest rain, all the water from the roof collects in the gutter as designed and not a drop of water is entering the garage. The other jobs went without a hitch and Marcos was kind enough to dispose of the satellite dishes that had been removed. Marcos is prompt, professional and his work is of a high standard. I definitely plan to use Strong Hammer Contracting again and would recommend them without hesitation.

The company was flexible in scheduling based on my convenience. The team showed up on time and checked the gutters. While they were here, I asked them to check the roof for any broken or loose shingle. They did so at no additional charge. The lead supervisor was very polite. They completed their work on time.

Our sun room roof started leaking on us during a rain storm in December '14. I didn't want to try to go through the winter with it so I got a few estimates. Strong Hammer gave us a fair estimate and the reviews were positive. They came right away for the estimate and were able to start the job shortly after. The roof held up after a very rough winter last year (I waited to see how it would hold up before deciding to complete this review) and so far so good. They were reasonably clean getting rid of the old roof material. They were pleasant to deal with and I would definitely consider using them again.

The gentleman was very prompt, polite, fastidious, and cleaned up after himself after doing the job very well. I think my house was small enough to make the transaction more in their favor than my own (the deal was for a home of ANY size), but that is my fault, not theirs. Would hire this company again.
