Sila Heating, Cooling and Plumbing

This was my first experience with Sila Heating & A/C and it definitely will not be my last. Juan from Sila arrived today and performed a 15 point Gas Furnace Tune up/ Inspection/Ceaning. I was so very impressed with him. Not only did he explain in detail everything that he was doing .. he pointed out a few things that I should watch out for. He also gave me tips on using my thermostats more efficiently.. thereby saving money. He was so helpful and immediately put me at ease. I was extremely happy with his level of professionalism and attention to detail. I will be asking for Juan again when I have Sila come back in the Spring to service my A/C. Sila has proved to be a very honest, reliable company to do business with. I now have the peace of mind knowing that my gas furnace is working properly and safely. Don't hesitate .. you will be very pleased with this company.

Yevdy, the service technician was on time and serviced the 2 gas units immediately. He seemed very competent and explained what was done after he finished. I would grade him an A++. Earlier in the year, I took advantage of the Angie’s List offer to service my 2 air conditioning units, and again, the service representative was very efficient. Sila should be proud of both their employees. I would absolutely use them again.

I learned of Sila Heating & A/C via the "Big Deal" on Angie's List, then called them (Sila) to inquire whether or not my home was w/in their jurisdiction...well, we had a bad phone connection at the time, and due to that, I misunderstood and thought that they did routinely travel to my area. As it turns out, they don't, but because of the misunderstanding, Chris (the manager) being extremely nice and accomodating, agreed to honor the "Big Deal" for me anyway! In short, Dennis came and not only did he do the jobs listed on the "deal", but he did them THOROUGHLY, and was extremely polite and answered all questions while doing so, then left everything very neat...lastly, he handwrote a DETAILED receipt (w/out having been asked)! I DEFINITELY would use them again (only wish I lived closer to them, so as to use them on a regular basis)!

I?m always curious about how things work (or don?t) and expect construction, maintenance and repair servicemen to provide me with a good education as they work. Dennis was not only a first-rate professional provider but an excellent teacher as well! We are always sensitive to the sales pitch that often gets made by people servicing equipment in our house. Dennis did suggest that we think about replacing the old, inefficient and too-powerful boiler with a new one. And that was the end of the sales pitch. We are extremely pleased with Sila and Dennis A?s work. We?re likely to have Sila handle maintenance in the future. They?ll also be the first company we call when we?re ready to replace the boiler.

They did a great job! The person that came was very through and professional. The gentleman that came out was Juan Sequecla, he was on time, professional, through and I am completely satisfied.

Dennis, the technician, did a very thorough job, working over two hours. He detected and corrected an airflow problem and patched a leaking vent pipe. He was very courteous, and I especially appreciated that he put protective covers over his shoes while in the house.

They were very professional and punctual. We would definitely use them again.

The tech was prompt, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The furnace got a clean bill of health and is set for the winter. He even informed me of other services performed by his company.

Tech spent a lot of time answering my many questions. Very professional and knowledgeable. From the first impression on the phone until completion of tech visit.. everyone I dealt with wonderful!

Purchased the "big deal" to have the a/c unit cleaned, needed freeon at an additional $80. Very professional, was on-time, polite. Would use again.

They are very professional. The technicians identified the problems we have on our 2nd floor unit and fixed it. They also gave us recommendations to improve our systems. Although we had some billing issues (not their problem) because we ordered the services before they were even notified by Angieslists, it got corrected immediately. We will use their services in the future.

OK. Not Bad. But defnitely I would use my usual service provider i.e.Santa Energy , Bridgeport CT as the price difference was nullified as I had to pay $30 for the coolant (freon) top-up.

They had a special on Angies List for $80 for a service call on the AC unit and inspection/cleaning. They came... inspected, cleaned and installed some more Coolant.. Boo ya!!!! My AC is pumping cool fresh air now... I would be dying without that service call. Best $80 I ever spent.

I want to compliment Sila for its services both over the phone prior to the visit as well as during the service in my home. I had to reschedule the original visit date and I had no problem doing this. The person who came from Sila was knowledgeable and patient to answer all my questions. The service was professional and friendly. It was raining on that day and I was impressed that he had disposable shoe covers to protect the floors. Overall, it was a very no-stressful experience and I will definitely use Sila's services again.

Overall, it has been excellent. The first year we were not satisfied with the performance. They were out here several times and they changed around many things. By the following April they came to the conclusion that they had possibly undersized the unit and they wound up replacing the whole unit. As far as service calls, every time we called them, they were out here within 24 hours. The people that showed up were always very polite. They wore little paper booties to come in the house. They always cleaned up after themselves. We were pleased with the service and the product. I have recommended them to friends who are equally satisfied.

Could not have gone better from start to finish. I will definitely use them again next year for servicing my 3 A/C units. And they were less expensive than the company I had been using regularly for the same exact job.

It was very fast, explained everything, cleaned up afterward, and honest about charges. Everything was very good, great service experience.

I got them from Angie's list. Their price was reasonable. They did everything they said they were going to do. They were on time. They were professional. They were able to diagnose the problem and they were right.

Unique Comfort provided a professional, detailed estimate along with a long list of references from previous customers. They were very pleasant to deal with, but their estimate was the highest I received and I chose another company. The work has not been done yet on account of my own busy schedule. The other company was also chosen from an Angie's list. I will enter a report when that work is done.

The technician was totally clueless. He took a part away from the system and messed up the wire instead of fixing it. When the technician arrived, I demonstrated to him that when the thermostat was set to "heat", hot air came out, but when it was set to "cool", there was no air coming out of the vent. The guy got on the phone with his colleague getting instructions about what to do as soon as he opened the unit. After fiddling with the wires and the thermostat for an hour and a half, he told me that a relay needed to be replaced, and I needed to pay him another $240 to get a new relay. I was surprised that after his "trouble shooting", the heater stopped working too, and asked him how that could happen. He couldn't give me an answer. So I didn't have him change the relay, but had a technician from another company take a look instead. The second technician found that the wire in the unit was messed up, and the click-on piece of the thermostat was not making good contact with the piece that was mounted on the wall. Once he fixed those, the air conditioner started working right away. He also told me that the relay for the heater was missing, he could put a new relay in for me for an additional $20. Given that the heater was working when the guy from Unique got here, it was pretty clear that he took the relay! And because nobody else touched the unit before the wires were found messed up, it was also clear that the Unique guy messed up the wire!

So - we're about to head into record breaking heat - and my A/C died - called Unique Indoor Comfort at about 9:30 a.m. today - spoke with Anthony - very professional, welcoming - told him that his high ratings on Angie's List were the reason for Unique being my first choice. He was able to get me an appointment - today - yes, the SAME day, between 11 - and 1...Steve, the serviceman, showed up at 11:40 a.m. knew exactly what to do - heard that it was just the fan and no compressor - took apart the unit - tested the capacitor - knew exactly what to look for, replaced it - and even counseled me that it was a very old unit - this particular problem could be repaired, that it was a good unit, got my money's worth - but should prepare for a new one within a year or two. The job was done, professionally, and he even asked for - and accepted my Angie's List coupon. I will CERTAINLY use this company when I need to replace my entire unit. They have won me over as a customer.

I was able to secure an appointment for the next day between 2 and 4 pm. Technician arrived at 2PM on the dot. Very polite, knowledgeable; $89.00 service call plus $149/hr. Worked in a 95 degree attic without complaint and finished in little over an hour.

Overall, it was a fine experience. They were always timely in showing up for the appointments.

The whole process was very smooth, the technician was courteous and friendly.
