Mr. Hartman visited first to assess for the estimate and in the estimate he gave us various scenarios that would affect price points, including for the extent to which we wanted pre-existing plaster flaws eliminated or left be. He remained in phone communication until a date to do the work was a settled upon (actually resettled upon when we had to reschedule one time from his side), and he rode with me down to the wire on the journey of color choices. Although we have more work needed in a hallway (he gave us estimates for that work), our priority was a small bathroom which is the work he's done for us so far. Matthew Hartmann was professional and we were flexible with each other in setting up date the work would be done.

We chose Matthew Hartmann Plastering because he would also paint the areas he plastered. His price was very good, a bit lower than the other plasterers we consulted, but still fair. He responded promptly & communicated professionally. He negotiated fairly and without drama when we proposed adding items to the agreement; the prices he gave us for the add-on work were completely in line with his original pricing structure. And fortunately he was able to add them without having to change his schedule. Matthew and his teammate/brother set up quickly and made good progress on Day One. Then we had a big gap in the middle of the job because the baby Matthew & his wife were expecting came early. He kept in very close contact, and sent his his brother over to tackle what parts of the job he could handle without Matthew. He resume work quite quickly, we thought, and finished us up very promptly. We were very happy with his professionalism during that gap in progress, and we never for a moment felt abandoned. He did a fine job protecting things from plaster dust or paint as well, and was pleasant to have working in our home. We would certainly recommend Matthew Hartmann Plastering, and would absolutely work with him again should we need plastering.

Matt first came to look at the rooms and give a free estimate. He quoted a good price, arrived to do the job himself with his brother, and worked quickly and cleanly. We found Matt to be very professional, and are very happy with the finished product.

Matt was timely getting back to me about the work needed and looking at the apartment. He was extremely helpful and professional during all aspects of the job - paint choice, work needed, work options. He completed the job quickly despite the fact that his helper called in sick. I was out for most of the second day of work and arrived home to a transformed room. He left the room perfectly clean. I don't know how his prices compare to other painters, but I felt like he really knew what he was doing and that I could rely on him to complete the job well and without any headaches. I was right. I am having him plaster and paint the rest of my apartment.

He was very knowledgeable. His estimate was detailed and reasonable. He had had a cancellation in his schedule for three days the following week, which was perfect for us. Matthew removed the loose plaster, taped cracks, and applied fiberglass mesh to the walls and ceiling. He then applied three coats of plaster, polishing between coats. We had expected the apartment to be a bit of a mess during this process because of the dust?etc. Mathew used plastic at the bathroom door and vacuumed each day. There was no dust in the rest of the apartment. Once the plastering was completed, he applied an oil base under coat to the walls and ceiling and then painted the bathroom including the woodwork and door. Mathew also repaired some grouting on the tile wall of the bathtub and recaulked the tub. He then painted the ceiling, walls and woodwork and window-frame and door. The bathroom is completely restored. He did a beautiful job! He completed the work within the agreed upon time?and left the place spotless.

He was great. The work was very well done. He addressed any concerns or requests immediately. We will be using him again in the future.

Came promptly and was polite and friendly. Work took 2 days, with his brother assisting on the second day. Work done neatly with a fair amount of attention to detail. Cleaned up work area and neatly stored a small amount of equipment in the room overnight. Accidentally broke a window pane, and replaced it that day, at no extra charge. We provided paint (wall was different color than remainder of painting) and hardware (handles). He installed all hardware. Painting was done well, but not excellently. No complaints.

Very well, indeed! Matt was always on the job himself, and handled a tricky time when we were often out of town.

I thought he do did a good job. He was very fair and reliable. I would recommend him to others and I would also used the service again if I needed some plaster work done.

The work went very well. I was able to reach Matt on his cell phone and we scheduled the work to go around his larger jobs. He came when he promised, did the work, showed a great deal of care in his work and finished up promptly and cleanly. The job cost a little more because of the additional painting of the hallway, but I was very satisfied with his work.

He really worked with me to matching colors even if took repainting. He was much more accommodating that I would have expected. He was very professional and respectful. He performed high quality work and I would use him again.

Mr. Hartman provided an excellent finished product considering the condition of the ceilings that had not been touched for over 60 years. I set-up the job with him about 3 weeks in advance when we would not be at home, because we could not have lived in the apartment during the work. Initially, Mr. Hartmann provided me with a lump sum estimate for all this work and painting the apartment. When requested, he broke down the costs for each part of the project since I needed an insurance back-up for the water damage. The project took eight days. He worked alone and cleaned-up very well. I was able to leave him alone but the superintendent of the building was available in case he needed assistance. I felt he was a little expensive, but was very satisfied with the finished product. He is returning to paint the entire apartment next week.

He came on time, brought most of his own supplies, was helpful in moving my stuff out of the way, and conscientious in his work. The ceilings and wall look great. I highly recommend him.

He made the rooms look like they were brand new. The ceiling and walls were cracked, and he did an excellent job. I'd recommend him to anyone!
