Paul was extremely professional and creative. He worked diligently to accommodate the room layout. His crew was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I had minor questions, and they came right back to help me through. The work was done exactly per specifications, and everything was thoroughly tested before they turned the system over to me.

We were interested in mini split (ductless) systems for our 1930s Colonial home, and learned in talking with several contractors that our home's configuration provided challenges and obstacles for any cooling plan.  3 other contractors offered varying solutions that focused on "central air" instead, at proposed costs significantly higher than Absolute Comfort's proposal. Paul arrived promptly for his visit and evaluation, and within days he provided a proposal for a creative and effective solution using Mitsubishi mini splits for the entire downstairs; another Mitsubishi unit in the attic cools the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom.  The solution involved a lot of work running cooling tubes through brick walls to the outdoor mounted units. The outdoor components of the system were mounted in an attractive manner and not visible from the front of the house. They do not visibly detract from the appearance of the house and they are incredibly quiet... virtually silent..  no disturbance to neighbors or for us when we're outside. The indoor units are attractive and very VERY quiet, and Paul's plan was both efficient and esthetically pleasing.  Paul's "right hand man" is not only a very nice person but a talented and hard working engineer who really knows his stuff.  We were very pleased with the high quality of the work and the finished results, as well as promptness and courtesy of Paul and his staff.  There was a 3 week heat wave with temps in the 90s right after installation of our cooling system was completed... lucky us!!!  Our home remained comfortable through the worst of it.  The Mitsubishi units can also provide heat.  As the temps have dropped in the last week or so, we're using the units to take the chill off one room at a time in the chilly mornings. So pleased we no longer need to run the furnace and heat the whole house to have a comfortable family room or office.  We're very happy with our new cooling/heating system and highly recommend Paul Gomprecht and Absolute Comfort & Temperature Control.

I contacted Paul for estimate and was able to get him to come to my house very soon. He came over and looked my house, and gave me 3 options of different configurations. He also give me information on how much rebate I can get from ConEdison so that I can compare prices better. He also recommended an electrician that he usually work with. And he gladly gave me %5 off for being an Angies's list member, which is a lot of saving.
After talking to electrician, to avoid upgrading existing panel, we had to change configuration that I originally picked. That was no problem for Paul. He actually spoke to the electrician to make sure the option was a sensible one, and emailed updated price quote document immediately. The estimate was done by the end of May 2013.
After that, we signed contract, Paul ordered equipment. By the end of June, equipment was available. Due to our vacation etc. we had the installation done in the second week of July, right in time for the hot hot summer.
Paul's crew, Raj, did a wonderful job installing outdoor units, indoor units, duct work in the attic. All work was cleaned up perfectly. There was no mess left from the work. And the crew always arrived on time, behaved professionally.
The AC really made a huge difference for our family in the hot summer days. In westchester, there are about 3 weeks each summer that the temperature got really hot, and our old house. which is a cape cod style, the up stairs can get really hot, over 90 degrees. I am so thankful that we barely noticed the hot temperature outside once AC is installed. And the Mitsubishi AC is so quiet that I barely notice it running. Really, it is true. I used to hate window AC because it is so noisy and disturbing, we have to yell at each other when the window AC is running.
Coming into October, we could turn the AC into heater as it is dual mode. One zone the unit is not generating heat for some reason. I emailed Paul. Paul was being very responsive and sent Raj to my house the next day. It turns out, the electrician installed 110V outlet for this unit instead of 220V. So the electrician was called in and fixed the issue. Now I am going to use the unit for heating in the winter as well. As they can be individually controlled, I expect to save some $$ on my heating bill this winter.
I want to thank Paul and his team for doing a wonderful job. You have truly showed professionalism in your job. I would recommend Paul to any of my friends/co-worker who needs AC installation.

Raj was also great about drilling back in a grill from the ceiling that I could n't get back in on my own during my own hunt for the air filters, so I feel his visit to my home was worthwhile.
The $140 initial service fee seems like the average (Yost and Campbell mentioned the same amount, another company in YOnkers did mention a cheaper $85 amount but they were not available until after the weekend).
So this fee seems like the average going fee. Maybe should be a little cheaper like in between at $100 for being a smaller company but being a smaller company made them more available to me on the same day (Yost and Campbell did not even return my phone call to confirm that they would be coming.  They just showed up after I had already had my problem taken care of).
So overall, good, straight forward and honest company to deal with b/c of Raj.

We got estimates from 5 potential firms, and Paul stood out from the getgo in his willingness to respond to our questions about the best system for our needs and priorities (energy efficiency and flexibility in control). We had thought we wanted a different kind, but he took the time to explain pros and cons for various options and we're very pleased with what we ended up with. After many years of suffering through summers with noisy window units in apartments, having a quiet, cool house to come home to is a real treat.
Always prompt and pleasant to deal with-I really wish everyone we've worked with in updating our house was like Paul. He did what he said he would, when he said he would, for the (very fair) price quoted. The house was empty when they did the work but whenever we checked in it was spotless after they had left. He even did all the rebate paperwork so we just had to add our Coned acct #. His assistant was also great to deal with, and they went above and beyond to fix things when it turned out the electrician we had hired had done some things incorrectly in wiring the system. If you asked me what he could be doing better I really wouldn't have an answer, and I think anyone looking to add central air would be well-served in calling Absolute Comfort & Temperature Control.

They were very very good. He was absolutely phenomenal. When you call the guy and he is on time and he does his job well. Everything is good and there is no surprise there. We had no problem and everything was clean. He is very professional and had all the good idea and recommended about where to put the system in, I have no idea where to put it. He knew exactly what could be done, what makes sense etc. He executed the job very well. There was good attention to detail. One of the unit was not functioning I called them they came back the next day and fixed it and they apologized said they made a mistake and it is just a pleasure to deal with. I would use them again if needed.

We chose Absolute Comfort because they have extensive experience with installing Mitsubishi minisplits and we decided that a high efficiency minisplit was the solution for our family room which has always been a challenging room to heat and cool. The Mitsubishi Hyperheats are fairly new units that can provide heat to temps below zero, so there is no need for supplemental heat as there was with the older minisplits.  Absolute Comfort's service was great from beginning to end - from emailing in advance with Paul the owner who responded promptly to all my questions, to the installation which was done by his team in a very professional manner, to the followup afterwards when Paul helped me with paperwork for Con Ed rebates on the unit.

Returned my call shortly after I left a message. Scheduled an appointment for an estimate the owner was very flexible with my schedule in making the appointment. I emailed the owner with questions about 8-10 times prior to the install. The owner always replied back in a timely fashion usually within the hour and answered my question. When the time came for the installation his workers were very punctual, neat, and respectful. I am very satisfied with the work this company has done.

I called and left a message and they got back to me in a reasonable amount of time which I appreciated. They arrived promptly and were polite and courteous. They spend about an hour trying to fix the furnace but were unable to get the downstairs zone to work. They were able to get one upstairs radiator to work but they were not able to fix two of the upstairs radiators.
They explained that the wiring from the boiler to the thermostat was faulty. This turned out to be untrue. When I called another heating specialist,  the other guy simply opened a valve and fixed the issue. He said there was no problem with the wiring. I understand if they aren't able to fix it, but I wish they hadn't told me information that wasn't true. I'm not saying they just made it up, maybe they just weren't as experienced - but I was worrying for quite a while about a wiring issue unnecessarily.
I appreciated that they only charged me for an hour's work when they spent a bit longer.

The story does have a happy ending though - the owner followed up and offered a full refund. It turns out the people who came to my house were cooling experts and that the guy in charge of heating was out of the country. So I do think this is a good and reputable company and would use them again, especially for cooling.

Our home is a two story colonial that has two AC zones; one for the lower level with the air handler in the basement and one for the second level with the air handler in the attic.  The orginal systems were installed when the home was built around 1999 and both used Freon.  This year we replaced both units.
We compliled a simplistic RFP request and sent it to two companies we have delt with in the past and after their site visits, got rather aggressive quotes.  There seemed to be a reluctance to bid for the attic replacement and the bids were in the $14'000 - $17'000 range for both zones using 16 SEER units that we needed.
Not being comfortable with what we were seeing, we subscribed to Angie's List and completed more research.  This research yielded Absolute Comfort and Paul Gomprecht.  We found dealing with Paul on getting a bid and product information quite easy.  He was very responsive to our questions.  Of the three companies bidding, Absolute Comfort's bid was for Luxaire equipment which was an upgraded replacement for the same brand of equipment we had.  The other two companies submitted bids on Carrier and Lennox brands.  Our web research revealed that of the three products, Luxaire was not the higher rated (all brands were close to each other) but surprising, all three brands were not that well regarded by consumer postings.  Most negative comments we read seem to be with installation issues and/or service issues.  We reflected that for the past 12 years that we have owned the home (we are the second owners), we have not had any serious issues with Luxaire so were not influenced away from Luxaire.
Paul's teams installed the two systems and modified the upstairs return to accommodate a filter (avoids having to climb into the attic to change filters) all in around 4 days.  The work was done in a professional manner and left the work areas clean.  So far we have been very happy with our new units and are very comfortable with our decision to use Absolute Comfort for the job.
We would highly recommend Absolute Comfort based on our experience.

From start to finish, including Paul's initial visit for the estimate, it was a pleasure to do business with Absolute.  They were professional, neat, punctual and finished the in a reasonable amount of days as predicted.  They went to great pains to match the drain pipes to our rain gutters which was most appreciated.  We are just delighted with the units...they are quiet and efficient.  It is a pleasure to return home to a cool comfortable house especially during the heat waves we have had since installation.  One of the motors in one of the condensers was making a knocking sound and needed to be replaced.  Paul had it ordered the day they left, and we were delighted to find a note on our door that it had been replaced while we were out.  It did not in any way effect the functioning of the air conditioners.  We would not hesitate to recommend Absolute Comfort to anyone.  Although we don't anticipate any problems, we feel confident that Absolute will respond promptly if anything does occur.

Ever since we bought this house 13 years ago, the central air upstairs has worked fine but the main floor doesn't.  We've had many people in to look at it - local people, larger companies.  No one has made a bit of difference.  Absolute Comfort tried a few things that didn't work, then tried more things, then after painstakingly trying everything, worked to correct the problem.  It's still a problem, unfortunately, and the main floor STILL isn't cool, but their still working on it.  They're the only company that hasn't given up.  They answer every call promptly, show up on time every time, and take the problem seriously.  I have no doubt that they will be able to diagnose and repair the problem soon.

Paul came here a year ago to give us an estimate to install Mitsubishi Split air conditioning throughout the house. He gave us separate estimates for the upstairs and the downstairs.  I have to mention that the estimate process alone was a lot of work for Paul. Paul measured every room and looked at the basement and the attic. We decided against having the work done,

Last month we decided we needed to replace our noisy window air conditioners so we contacted Paul to do the downstairs only. We specified that we wanted the work done at the end of April. As requested Paul contacted us in mid-April to notify us that the job was scheduled  for April 24th. They came promptly at 9 AM on the 24th and started work. They were very conscientious and worked continuously. The technicians were professional, courteous, and friendly. They were very careful and neat. Cleanup was minimal. We were very impressed with all aspects of the job. Today we are using the unit to heat the 1st floor. It works great - it's so quiet too. I would definitely use them again to install the ac on the 2nd floor.

It was a pleasure doing business with Absolute.

Paul came to our home to give us an initial estimate.  Unlucky for him, it happened to be a day that my parents were over at our house as well as another couple (all 6 of us were doing some work in our new house).  Not only did Paul have to answer my questions, but there were 4 other people drilling him with questions as well - he handled them all like a champ.

Central air was a big investment for us so we had 8 different companies come to give us estimates.  We were unsure if we wanted to do a full two-zone central system (one zone upstairs and one downstairs - all would be ducted) or if we were going to go with the split systems (Mitsubishi) that were more energy efficient and would also give us an alternate source of heat.

The Mitsubishi split systems (21 SEER) were a little more expensive than the 16.5 SEER central systems we were looking at - the central systems we priced did not include heat.  His pricing was cheaper than the other contractors who gave me estimates for identical work.  As it turns out the only thing that took convincing was the look of the split system on my walls in the house.  Paul referred us to another home that he worked on and we were able to visit and see the system.  These people had nothing but good things to say about the system and added that their oil bills for the year dropped by over 50% since it was so efficient to run these units.  Once I convinced my wife to get over the look of the units we called Paul to do the work.  It has been about a week since the units were installed and I do not even notice them anymore - they are just another piece of furniture in the room.

Now let's talk about the installation process.

The job took 6 days - it could have been done in 5 if I wanted to rush them but I was in no rush and would not be home in time from work to walk through the system with them anyway so I told them to take the 6th day.  The first day that the job started I stayed home from work just to make sure the proper equipment showed up and the placements were correct - plus I wanted to meet his two employees that would be in my house all week.  I met Raj and Benjamin who are by far the most courteous and friendly employees of any contractor I've had do work in my house.  They were polite and answered any questions throughout the process and most importantly I trusted them in my home for the remaining 5 days.  They cleaned up any mess that was made from drilling etc and kept me updated throughout the process.  I gave Raj my garage door remote to get into my house each day since my wife and I would be at work.  They truly went above and beyond for me and did a phenomenal job - I can not commend them enough.  My wife was home sick for 2 days during the process and she was surprised how quiet and friendly they were; for her to say that truly says a lot as she is tough to impress (trust me).

Paul took care of registering my equipment with Mitsubishi and made sure that I knew how to apply for my ConEd rebate(s).  Yes I get more then 1 rebate because I had more than 1 system installed.  I have all manuals and documentation and have already recommended Paul to a few of my friends.  I would highly recommend him to you if you are reading this - give him a call, he knows his business, and will be able to calculate what you really need.  He responds very quickly when you call/email him and really is the contractor you are looking for to install an HVAC system in your home.  Thanks Paul!
