MALONEY'S FLOWER SHOP

I was ordering flowers for my mother's funeral and I went to their website and picked up the arrangements that I wanted. I had ordered three arrangements and one of them was atrocious. It was not anything like what I had ordered. It was supposed to be the spray to go inside the casket but it was absolutely horrid. These were the last flowers that I was buying for my mother ever. They delivered the flowers on time. I walked into the funeral parlor and I looked at the arrangement and said that it was not right. Everyone just stared at me and the funeral director was wondering on what to do. One of my friends helped me call Maloney's right from the funeral home and the woman who answered told me that she had done the arrangements herself and that she was good at what she does. I told her that she needed to look at their website to see what she was supposed to be doing. She said that she could replace the arrangements and I asked her as to whether she could do that in 20 minutes and she said no. I felt from her attitude that she was thinking what my problem was and that she had done everything that she was supposed to do. My daughter used to work in a florist and I told her the name of the arrangement and she knew immediately as to what I had ordered. It was just so disappointing, and after talking to this woman for a long time, she finally offered to take it off the bill. It was such an emotionally charged time and to have it be so awful. The arrangement was so ugly and was not even close to what it was supposed to be. The funeral director told me that he didn't even know how to put the arrangement in the casket. He had to have about a dozen pins to hold it in since it wasn't what it was supposed to be. Their prices were fair and they did take that flower arrangement off the bill but she gave me a hard time about it. I might have felt differently about it had she been the least bit apologetic and shown the least bit of sympathy. She did not apologize even once. I had used them for 20 years but I will never use them again.

I have been happily doing business with Maloney's for 20 years, but this experience has left me seeking a new florist. I went on-line to select the arrangements I wanted for my mother's funeral service. I then called and placed my order. When I arrived at the funeral parlor, the casket arrangement not only was not what I had ordered, it was inconceivably inappropriate and pathetic. It wasn't even another casket garland, but something one might place in the cemetery in front of the headstone. I immediately called Maloney's (from the funeral home which was not on my list of things I ever wanted to do) to express my dismay and my horror at what they had done. I was told that they could replace the flowers. I asked if they could do that in 15 minutes which, of course, they could not. There was no apology offered and no sympathy expressed although the price of this disaster was removed from my bill. Not charging me for what I did not order was a professional gesture, but it cannot compensate for the distress of the last flowers my mother would ever receive being what they were. By the way, the $225.00 is what I paid for the other arrangement after the bill was reduced. It is probably safe to use this florist for some occasions. What I have teleflored have been received with great joy and the arrangements sent to homes and hospitals have been lovely. I prefer to find a florist I can use for any occasion.
