Our company specializies in: building and repairing masonary chimneys, fireplaces, houses, walkways, patios, steps & waterfalls. Our work spans all over the tri-state area, based mainly in Orange, Ulster and Sulllivan county, but also reaching out to surrounding areas in the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My homeThe construction went very well, Carlo did a superb job, I have photos from beginning to end. This job was done with love, and it shows in the workmanship. It's highly likely that we will have Custom Stone Design, Inc. do some more work for us in the future. It took longer than I thought it would, until I realized what kind of detail work and prework (digging a hole, stone cutting) was involved. I'll admit, that part of my yard was a mess for a while, but it was cleaned up nicely, and with leftover stones, I wound up getting a fire-ring out of the deal as well. This was some very very hard work done here, and worth every PENNY! Set in the stone are bricks for the cooking, and the shelves were set up so that there are two seperate cooking grills. I love it! It takes wood or charcoal, and that's ok with me, cos I love the taste and aroma of a charcoal grill.
Now I just have to learn to cook on it!

Carlo is an excellent stone mason, highly skilled in his craft. He was reasonable, did the work in a timely way, and worked sometimes until after sunset. He worked will with his assistant and went well beyond what I had expected. He poured new footings and repaired other areas of the foundation that needed attention. I plan to hire him this season for additional work on my back porch and stone work around windows.
