They are very reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves. They showed up when they were supposed to. I was all around very pleased with them. I even spoke to the owner of the company when he came to my house.

They requested a partial payment before they did the work. I don't remember the amount quoted. The down payment was the thing that deterred me plus we were getting into the colder weather, so I haven’t had the window work done. I was satisfied with the interaction that I had with them. I thought their service was excellent. A man came out, inspected all the windows, and gave me an estimate. After that, I went out to their factory and went through the factory. We were then discussing the actual putting in of the windows, but when he came to the point about wanting a partial down payment I was unhappy about that. They were very good to respond. They were very good. They are one of the established and well considered window companies in the area. I don't like any individuals who ask for partial payment before they start the work. Everything was fine about them and there is no question about the company itself, and from their reputation which is an outstanding one. I would consider thinking of using them, but I would not consider companies that ask for down payment unless there is some excuse.
Description of Work: We used Pace Window & Door last year. They gave us a quote for window work. A man came out, inspected all the windows, and then gave me a quote.

Description of Work: Pace replaced two of the original windows in my house with new vinyl windows of the same size. The first was an awning style window in the bathroom and the second was a double casement in the kitchen. No alterations to the stucture was needed but they did do the trim work on the outside of the windows.

They were the only ones who were able to do the job for me. I have been satisfied and it’s beautiful. The windows are easy to clean and open. They were excellent. I called their office which is in Victor and the one in Rochester is a new office. So, I dealt with the one in Victor. I spent probably $4000 for their services. They got a loan for me through a bank and I was able to work with the bank. They were great and very accommodating. They were very courteous and kind. They also cleaned up very well. I had no problems with them. They were easy to work with and I had a very satisfying experience with them. They were a little pricey, but it was top of the line kind of window. I also had extra work done. So, their price was average for what I asked them to. Their quality was very good. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: I used the services of Pace Window & Door about seven years ago. I had two windows in my dining room. I wanted a huge picture window and I wanted a low one. So, they were able to cut in and make the windows the way I wanted it. Then I had an old sliding door and they also put in a new sliding door for me. I had a window upstairs in the bathroom that I wanted lowered and bigger and they did that for me as well. They also replaced the window over my kitchen sink. They even suggested putting in a little shelf for me over there. I agreed to it and they put in the shelf there for me. Then they did a window in the bathroom too.

It went very well. See above for details.
Description of Work: A few years ago we had Pace replace a large picture window and two windows, one on each side of it in the living room plus 3 more windows in two bedrooms and they did a great job, so we decided to use them again when it was time to replace more windows. This time they replaced 3 kitchen windows and two windows in the master bedroom, a window each in the bathroom and powder room and the patio door in the dining room. It took two days as the first day one man worked alone. The second day there were two men. Both were very hard workers and I never saw them take a break or even stop for lunch. They answered all our questions. They cleaned up everything and even went beyond the call of duty by putting a room air conditioner back in the window they replaced since my husband is temporarily disabled. I would highly recommend them and will be calling them back again when we need to replace two windows in our family room and one in another powder room, which will hopefully be next year sometime.

I like the picture window we chose to have installed. It?s very easy to open and close them. The only complaint about the units themselves is that when keeping the upper window open in windy conditions, the screens have a tendency to fall open as their only held in place by the flex-action of their thin plastic track. They have a guy who does framing+finish carpentry work around the windows. He did an impeccable job. Their workmanship is very good. I like their windows because they are highly efficient--our windows now retain more warmth than the surrounding walls! They arrived right on time, however the other workman and job supervisor was rather cavalier about backing into our driveway, knocked over a bench and ran up over the end of our retainer block attempting to back onto the lawn. He did have permission to do so, but his vehicular blunder was only because he did NOT ask us to move our car out the way for the most sensibly easy maneuvering. There was no good reason for not asking us to do so as we'd made it clear enough that we were willing to cooperate anyway we could. What was most unprofessional was the way their supervisor responded to the situation he'd literally, hastily backed himself into. He only stood there laughing at the mess he'd made, which outraged my son & then when confronted about it his reaction was only more inappropriately careless laughter until he took offense to our quite sensibly understandable offense. He'd later given his word to put things back as they were, but instead, not only did they leave our overrun property in a heap, they ALSO left construction debris (insulation scraps and nails) in the yard for us to clean up. Unfortunately par for the course with most home repair and improvement contractors these days it seems--nevertheless not what we call professional conduct, not to mention somewhat insulting what was otherwise avoidable recklessness, however minor it may seem to construction workers working on deadlines. Otherwise the first installations went smoothly (of course, with no such issues of any brutish behavior) on the part of the installer who did our first job. The windows themselves have been a major improvement! I would use them in the future, but make sure to 'make a hole and make it big' as they say, in advance, especially for large/oversize window/doorway installments--& watch them as they get started at least.
Description of Work: I hired Pace Windows & Doors in October. They installed one picture window. We had two windows installed in my kitchen previously by their company. & so now we've had 2 overall satisfactory experiences.

I've had the company do a couple of other windows in my house in the past and it was good work. They did a fine job. They did it when they said they would do it and I had trouble with one window and they came back and fixed it with no question. Their prices are a bit higher than some but I believe that was worth the quality I was getting.

I had a good experience, and I would recommend them to others. I have recommended them to others as well. They were here when they said they will be here. They were very polite and very helpful with suggestions. I ended up having a customer door and door frame. I live in an old house and nothing is as easy as it looks. They dealt with whatever problems came up when they were installing and did not stop. The door is perfect. I did not have to pay any extra charges or hidden charges. I paid exactly what was there on the estimate.

I had just relied upon other people who had used this company. I looked at only one other company but they did not have a good reputation. So I used Pace Window & Door. They were a local company in the work was done well. We spent about $2300. They were efficient. I liked their product. I had a problem with one window. I thought I had broken it. They came and fixed it and we did not have any problem at all. I was happy with this company. I will probably use this company in the future but I will get estimates from a couple of other companies.

I called Pace for a free estimate and they sent Eric out to meet with us. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I especially liked that he had a sample window to show us right at our house (as opposed to going to a showroom). Because we live in an older house (1929) he discussed how they would carefully do the work and cleanup due to lead paint. We have a 2 year old, so it was important to know exactly how they dealt with the issue. We also liked that these windows have a lifetime guarantee and we will never have to pay any labor costs. Period. We did receive some promotional discounts which helped lower the overall cost. Once we decided to go with Pace, we received a call from the office to schedule a time for someone to come to our house to take window measurements. Then we waited about 4 weeks for the windows to be made. We again received a call to schedule installation. Two men (father and son) came to our house right on time and explained what they would be doing. I was told that 2 of the windows were upgraded due to an error. He showed me the 2 windows and asked if it would be ok to go ahead and install those, otherwise they'd have to get the correct windows and come back another time. There was no charge to us for the mistaken upgrade and the windows still looked the same so we just had them install the upgraded windows. An extra bonus for us! The men worked from 9am until 3:30pm without a lunch break. When they were done installing the windows, they showed me how to operate them, etc. They were very polite, professional and efficient. And I was happy with the cleanup. The windows look fantastic and are so easy to operate. Even with the windows closed, I kept thinking that they were open those first few days. I am very pleased! The price was comparable to a competitor and I know there are cheaper out there, but after the lifetime guarantee and other factors (including a $900 tax refund), it really was more cost effective to go with Pace. I truly believe you get what you pay for!

We had a very pleasant experience with Pace. Steve Abramson is a really good person to deal with, very honest and straght-forward. He pout us in touch with a salesperson that took our order. We did have a few issues with punctuality in completing the order, but we are very happy with the windows and the doors. The crew that installed the products was professional and did an excellent job.

Our salesman, Eric, was very nice. While the prices with Pace were a bit more then our best estimate, we were pleased with our choice. He included a lifetime warranty on all the windows - a standard of Pace. Also, our windows are made locally, for this climate and supporting local jobs. We had multiple crews here to install the doors and windows. They worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. They drop clothed our whole house and did a nice job. My only complaint is when they had to replace some molding in our kitchen window they did not use pre-primed/painted wood, so I had to paint it myself. We also received a before and after whole house energy audit. Bill was professional and incredibly informative. He gave me many suggestions for how to improve the air quality and energy efficiency of my home. Lastly, we love our windows. They open and close nicely, the house is quieter and snug and they look great. We would recommend Pace to others.

We chose Pace, even though they weren't the cheapest estimate, because of recommendations from friends and AngiesList, as well as the fact that they offered the exterior aluminum wrap (our exterior trim looked pretty sad). Also, Pace was willing to still offer a 25% discount to us, even though ~9 months had passed since we got our original estimate. The crew of 3 workers showed up on the day scheduled and were able to finish the work in about 8 hours. They laid down drop clothes to protect the floors, and were very thorough in their cleaning. After installing one window and trim, the job foreman asked me to look it over to make sure it was what we wanted before they kept going (it was). The exterior trim looks very nice, and all the windows look and work great. Our old windows were original to the house and ~40 years old - very loose and drafty. The new windows are nice and snug, and actually have increased glass viewing compared to the old ones! The next day the salesman stopped by to check in and see if we were happy with the work. My only criticisms are: 1) the crew showed up 1 hour early - 7 am instead of 8 am. The problem was, we were just getting out of bed at 7 am and we needed to get dressed and also move stuff away from the windows. 2) The way the process was described to us, we envisioned the workers removing and installing windows from the outside of the house. We were also told that we only needed to take down window treatments, and clear a small area in front of the window. In fact, all windows were worked on from the inside only, and we needed to clear an area in front of the window about 2-3 feet out from the window. This new info, combined with the crew arriving an hour early, made for a very hectic start to the day. We also had to make quick arrangements to get my 2 yr old out of the house, since she couldn't run around while the crew was working. We brought up these concerns to the salesman the next day, and he apologized and said he would make a note to better inform clients before installation. Overall, though, the process went very smoothly, and we're happy with the windows.
Description of Work: Pace replaced 18 windows in our home with Seascape vinyl replacement windows. We had both double hung and vertical sliders, all different sizes. All of the old windows were removed (the internal window casing was untouched), and the new windows installed and caulked. The exterior trim of all the windows was wrapped in white aluminum.

I was satisfied with the service and product. It wasn't the least expensive quote I received, out of 4 quotes I received, but it wasn't the most expensive either. The salesman, the office personnel, and the installer were all very helpful and courteous. I felt I received a quality product at a fair price. I also felt I was dealing with a reputable company which has been around for several years and would still be around in the future if I should need additional service. That was important for me.
Description of Work: The salesman was courteous and was very knowledgeable with, not only his product, but also windows made by other companies. The installer arrived at a time that was convenient for us and worked with speed and concern for protecting the surrounding area by covering everything with a drop cloth. He cleaned up before he left. The salesman also called after the installation was complete to ask if we were satisfied and if we had any additional questions or concerns.

Our old door was a full glass wood door which sticks really badly in the summer and was starting to dry rot. The workman was nice, efficient, and tidied up after himself. The work crew from Pace was very polite and courteous. The windows were installed very quickly and the job foreman tested each one individually. In addition, the crew did touch-up caulking and installed a moulding under the new door so it would look more finished and provide a guide for the floor when it is finished in the future. Salesman, Bruce Blankenship, was very responsive to all of our needs and did an excellent job monitoring all aspects of the ordering and post-installation. Though the product is not "cheap," it is well worth it for the quality, as well as for the lack of noise and new warmth now in the house.
