There was actually a problem with the initial install. But Reimer corrected the problem. There was a new crew that apparently completed the work. They installed the unit with the front facing the wall of the basement with less than a good clearance for service. This was not acceptable to me and I refused payment until I spoke to a service manager. The service manager came out quickly and agreed that while it was within code, it was not a proper install. He offered to correct the problem with either a new replacement unit or to reverse the existing unit and patch it with a discount. I took the discount because the patch made no difference to the efficiency of the unit and the aesthetics did not matter. The second install was fast and done well. They did a good job both times of patching exterior walls and keeping the area clean. They were all respectful as well. I would recommend them but I would carefully go over the plan prior to install to avoid the same confusion. Remember, they do this everyday and a lot is taken for granted, you don't do this type of work and assume things will be the way you have seen other places or imagined. A careful talk and walk-through will help.

They came and pulled the unit out to see how it was draining. Since the unit was not cleaned right, it flooded all my carpet in my den. My insurance paid for the new carpet but I had to pay a $500 deductible due to the error of Reimer. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

I was informed that the heat exchanger had cracks in 3 spots. I was offered the following two options. Replace heat exchanger (under warranty) on pro rated basis with a cost of $1187.00 plus tax or, replace furnace with similar style for $2477.00. Please note furnace is 8 years old. I did some research on line and contacted the manufacturer (Carrier Corporation). I was given local authorized dealers and service companies. Reimer was no longer on this list, though they installed this unit 8 years ago. Another contractor informed me that the only cost I should pay for would be the labor to replace the defective heat exchanger. This company just finished the job at a cost of $217.50. Needless to say I am not very happy with Reimer nor will I ever consider using them again. I'm not saying they are a bad company but I would always get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before hiring them.

"NEEDLESS TO SAY THE REASON WE ARE NO LONGER CARRYING CARRIER FURNACES ARE BECAUSE WE HAVE FOUND THAT A GOOD PORTION OF OUR SERVICE WORK COMES FROM CARRIER EQUIPMENT, AND WE FEEL IT IS NOT FAIR TO OUR CUSTOMERS TO SELL THEM SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED ALL THE TIME. FOR A COMPANY TO SEND A TRUCK OUT TO DO THE WARRANTY WORK (4-6 HOURS), PROCESS ALL THE PAPER WORK FROM CARRIER AND WARRANTY THAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT FOR ANOTHER YEAR FOR $217 WILL HAVE A HARD TIME STAYING IN BUSINESS FOR THE LONG TERM. OUR COMPANY IS BASED ON OVERWHELMING CUSTOMER SERVICE USING DRUG FREE EMPLOYEES, THAT HAVE ALL BEEN CRIMINALLY BACKGROUND CHECKED AND ARE HIGHLY TRAINED. WE DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR OUR PRICING IF YOU WANT A JOB DONE RIGHT WITH 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE ON ALL OUR WORK. THEREFORE WE CANNOT BE THE CHEAPEST. OUR PRICING IS USED BY OVER 500 OTHER COMPANIES THROUGH OUT THE UNITED STATES TO ASSURE WE WILL BE IN THE BUSINESS FOR THE LONG TERM TO SERVE OUR CLIENTS."

"IN RESPONSE TO HIS COMPLAINT, AT REIMER HEATING WE VIDEO TAPE THE INSIDE OF THE FURNACE ON ALL INSPECTIONS OR REPAIRS WITH A INFERRED CAMERA. UPON INSPECTION WE FOUND THE HEAT EXCHANGER LEAKING CARBON MONOXIDE AND DEEMED UNSAFE. THAT WAS THE REASON THE LIMIT SWITCH TRIPED. WE SENT COPIES OF THE VIDEO INSPECTION TO THE OTHER COMPANY AND THE MEMBER, WITH NO RESPONSE FROM EITHER. THIS FURNACE IS UNSAFE AND THE OTHER COMPANY SAVED HIM MONEY BUT PUT HIS SAFETY IN JEOPARDY. THIS IS A MAJOR INJUSTICE TO MY COMPANIES RATING FOR DOING OUR JOB CORRECTLY, THE OTHER COMPANY SHOULD INVEST IN THE PROPER TOOLS SO THEY CAN PERFORM THERE JOB CORRECTLY AND STOP PUTTING PEOPLES LIFE IN JEOPARDY THANK YOU, RICHARD REIMER"

I feel that they worked out pretty good. They were very professional and all. I do not have a contract with them but I do call them all the time. They charged about $5000 for the heating system and $3000 for the air conditioning system. I thought that was rather fair.
