It went great.  All we expected and more. They were on time and went right to work.

I called on a Sunday and left a message on answering machine asking for an estimate for tree removal and taking away the debris. My call was returned two days later and appointment was made for the next morning. I stayed home from work and he never showed or called to cancel. Later that night a woman called to say the estimator had been delayed and to reschedule for the next morning. Again I stayed home and he didn't show, however this time he called and again rescheduled for 8 PM that night. At 7 PM that night, in the middle of eating dinner I get a call and he says, with an attitude, that he is waiting out front. I said I was sorry to keep him waiting I didn't hear the bell and he then tells me he didn't ring the bell. I told him to come in the side gate into the backyard and someone would meet him there. He assessed the situation and handed my partner an estimate without even acknowledging his presence with an hello, turned around and left. The estimate did not include removing the wood from the property as requested, it was just for cutting down the tree and putting the limbs out in front of the house, and it was over $100 more than any other estimate I had received. Needless to say we did not call him to do the job.

Removed large tree in front yard without dropping any part of the tree on the yard or sprinkler system. Also ground down stump and neatly filled stump hole.  Completely cleaned yard before leaving. Great job.

I called SDS Tree and Stump Removal based on their ratings on Angie's List. I left a message asking for a quote and two days later Matt, their  estimator came by in the morning before I left for work. He reviewed the job and gave me a fair estimate for the work. He marked the tree and surrounding area and asked me to call the office if I decided to accept their quote. Two days later I called, left a message, and Scott called back within 24 hours. He said they would mix my small job in with another in my neighborhood, but he wasn't sure exactly when that would happen. No more than 3 weeks, though, he said. They would call as soon as they could get the schedule together. Three weeks later Scott called me back and said they would be there the following Wednesday. I did not have to be there. As it turned out I went home for lunch on Wednesday and they were just cleaning up. There were about 6 guys on the crew and they left nothing behind. Scott and all his guys were very pleasant and professional to deal with. The work was accomplished with no problems at all. I am very satisfied.

SDS arrived earlier than they said they would, early in the morning. They had the manpower and equipment necessary to remove the trees quickly and safely. They were professional, and when the job was finished they cleaned up the yard leaving the area in good shape. They also honored a 10% off coupon, which saved us $60. They did an excellent job and would definetly use them again.

I had one very large oak removed some minor trimming of dead branches on three other trees. No stress. Whatever needed to be dome was taken care of and when the job was complete, the yard was clean as can be.Good combo, bright, honorable, hard working people and all the booms, chippers, grinders and trucks you'll ever need.

The whole process went extremely well.  Scott and his experienced crew were there at 7:00 am and completed the entire removal and clean-up in one day.  SDS has excellent equipment and very professional workers.   We are having a second tree removed in the Fall and will certainly call SDS for the first estimate.

It took three weeks to get on their schedule, but they arrived at 7:30 am (1.5 hours earlier than expected) to avoid the heat of the late afternoon, and were done by 1:30 pm with some truly huge poplars and a honey locust.  They were quick, efficient, and friendly.  Two quibbles, however.   They destroyed my raspberry bushes with their equipment and left some big divots in my lawn.  More problematic is that the stump grinding did not include some roots on the surface, shot wood chips into my pool, and did not leave the stump area level with the ground so I will have to dig out some of the wood chips to make it blend in better with the surrounding lawn.  Still, SDS gave me the best estimate of three companies I contacted for estimates, and their work was more than satisfactory.  I would use them again--and probably will in the fall.  Next time, however, I would supervise clean up a bit better--I have several big messes in the yard to clean up.

Overall I am very pleased with the service offered by SDS, we were able to go from estimate to completed work within several days during their high demand season.  Everyone that I spoke with from estimate to scheduling was courteous and professional and worked with me to reschedule due to an issue on my end.  Great service and the guys did an excellent job!  I will certainly recommend to my friends and co-workers.

Crew arrived on time and started after brief orientation; they were well supervised and seemed to enjoy their work; the procedure was very efficient - transition from one phase to the next was virtually seamless; cleanup was very good. 

EXCELLENT JOB. REMOVED TREES , LEFT NO TRACE.

Scott was responsive and courteous.  His price was competitive.  His crew worked quickly and did a good job with the large tree (and two medium sized trees) and stump removal.  Only concern was the large divits they left in the yard where the tree fell to the ground ... not really an issue overall.  I would hire them again.

They gave a very reasonable quote, followed up with us for scheduling, came on time, and cleaned everything up.

Because of rain earlier in the week, we were concerned that perhaps our scheduled date of May 16, 7:30 am would be postponed.I phoned Scott about this at 6:30 am, and he replied by arriving at 6:50 am with an armada of vehicles.  He explained the need for  positioning both a crane boom truck and personnel bucket truck on our blacktop driveway.  A log transporter truck with crane, a chipper trailer and truck, a dump truck with bobcat dozer and a truck towing a large industrial grade, large stump grinder were all parked in the road.
 The coordinated removal of limbs;  gently lowering them to the ground by crane; thence to the chipper, reminded me of a ballet.  Removal of the trees was a methodical dis-assembly process which was  very well executed.  Thoroughness of  stump and root grinding, depth and area (root removal) exceeded my expectations.   It should be noted that limbs were in close proximity to power lines in front of the house, but all were removed without any chance in my view of disturbing the wires.
After removal of wood,  a good clean up by a crew of six required an additional hour.  In my view it is not possible for a crew to clean up every scrap of debris, chips, and sawdust, and I give a grade of A for clean up that was done. 
Thorough clean up required some labor on our part over the next two days, but still this was much less work than I had anticipated.  In my opinion a client should expect to provide his own, detailed clean up labor as a home owner responsibility.
Regarding our driveway, which needs re-sealing anyway, generally one should plan on scheduling a re-sealing after the heavy trucks have finished and left.  I believe a potential client should consider this from the outset as a home owner responsibility.
So this tree removal, a  matter of some concern to us, was resolved in a thoughtful and professional manner by  SDS tree service.Our association was a good partnership. 
With the  Angie's List discount (10%)  the cost was very competitive.

They were an excellent recommendation.  They got here 7.15 in the morning and by 10 O’clock they were sweeping the drive way for chips and everything.  They had seven guys show up and two big crane trucks a chipper and a log thing.  These knew what they were doing and there was a lot of tree.  I had called two other similar providers from Angies List and he had the best price amongst the three of them.  I will use them again.

They arrived at 7:00 am as promised and begun the work, everyone was very professional and I meet the owner of the company.  He informed me exactly what they would be doing and when I should check the job when it was completed.  During the work while the men where working.  The owner to was working right along the side with his men, doing manual labor just as well as they where.  I never seen that before, this owner is very dedicated to his company and wanted to make sure the job was done in a timely manner.  The job consisted of removing one large tree from my yard and grinding down the stump and removing the roots.  They got the tree down without any problem and removed the stump as well but when it came to getting the roots they only got the roots that where on the surface and what they could see, some of the roots are still in the ground but is under the grass.  They cleaned up the best they could but left some wood chips behind, so it will take me a while to clean up and place new grass in the area where the tree was but overall they did a wonderful job and I would recommend them to anyone.  They did give me a discount for being on Angie's list as well as being a retired Military. Great folks to do business with!!

I actually forget the final cost of the work, but still wanted to submit a review. They did a great job. They arrived on-time, and were very professional.  I especially appreciate how clean they left our yard and our neighbors yards (where some branches had fallen). I would absolutely call them again.

Using a crane and heavy equipment, the surgically cut the trees without anything falling down.

Scott gave us an estimate to remove a tree, grind a stump and trim 2 other trees. We scheduled a date and he and his crew did a wonderful job. They performed all requested tasked exactly as we asked and they removed all debris. Great job at a great price.

Scott and his crew arrived around 7am with all the equipment to do the job. All the guys worked nonstop until the job was complete. They were finished in less time than they anticipated. The entie area was leveled and raked to remove the tracks from the equipment when the work was complete. They even used a blower to clean the dirt from the road in front of the house. We are very pleased with the work and everything was done as desired and consistent with the estimate. It's refreshing to find someone who is responsive, punctual, communicative and professional. I recommend SDS without hesitation. And on top of all this, the price was great. Give him a call, you won't be disappointed.

They were absolutely fantastic.  Their pricing was reasonable.  I would rate them highly, and would use them again in the future if I needed to.

Owner Scott came out promptly to give an estimate and they were available the next day to do the job.  Scott is very personable, polite, professional, very responsive to questions/concerns.  He had a member of his crew drop off his proof of insurance at my request prior to start of the work.  They showed up before 7AM with a crew of about 6 guys and worked non-stop for 6 hrs. All work as discussed was performed and all debris was cleaned up.  Overall a good experience from start to finish, would definitely recommend them.
