I have an older VW Jetta that was given to my daughter by my brother-in-law. The car has been running rough and the transmission has been very "herky-jerky" since we got it four or five months ago. According to my brother-in-law, his mechanic said that was the way the car was and just let it warm up really well before you drive, which did seem to do the trick. Anyway, the check engine light came on about a month ago, and I brought it in to a large chain's mechanical shop where I was informed that I needed about $2,700 worth of parts and labor. I told them no thanks and figured we'd just drive until it stopped running, which it did about a week ago. I decided that maybe it was time to find a new mechanic anyway, and since no-one I know would recommend one that they felt was reliable and/or trustworthy, I finally decided to join Angie's List and try to find one there. Best decision I ever made! Olympia was at the top of the list in the number of ratings it had received and I decided to try them. Had the car towed in two days ago in the early afternoon, they had the problem diagnosed, figured out what was wrong with the transmission and had the car running like it had just come out of the showroom by the next day. The price was less than one-fifth of what my ex-mechanic estimated and they didn't even diagnose the problem correctly! I want to thank Dave and Mike and Angie's List, I couldn't be happier!

Excellent service. Very professional. No attitude, which was much appreciated. Just nice, professional service. Did not pressure me or try to sell me something other than what I asked for. Very timely response to calls. Was ready when they said it would be. I will definitely bring my car back here again!

He is very good. I get along with him very well. He did fine by main show. I have a big conversion van, so he went over it where he would find to commend. I thought he was very reasonable.

I like how clean the shop is and how professional they were when I talked to them.

I went in for a brake job. Replace all pads and machine the rotors. Joe, the service manager, called me after putting the car up on the lift and removing the wheels, to inform me that all four rotors were badly rusted. He let me know my options but suggested that replacing all four rotors was the best course of action. He stated that the cost would not be that much more in total since the labor portion of the bill would be less by doing it this way. I agreed to his suggestion. When I went to pick up my car, at the time they had promised, Joe took the time to show me the old rotors and boy were they rusted out. The bottom line is this, I didn't feel as though I was being ripped off, a welcome change since just about every other mechanic I have dealt with in the past left me feeling like I was being taken advantage of. I will use them again. They are courteous, honest, professional and fairly priced. What more could you ask for, especially in an auto mechanic!

Pretty simple, I got an oil change. I went with them because they had good reviews on Angie's list and had been in business for 20+ years. They seemed capable and nice.

The air conditioning on was randomly slipping going from cool to nothing depending on when I started the car. First time I brought it in for checkup, they didn't find anything wrong, but they went to work right away on it, and the mechanic didn't mind me watching. He answered my questions, and showed me what he was doing. In my experience this is really rare. Everyone there was extremely sensible and knowledgeable. I wound up getting tires, as they found bad wear on one. When the air conditioner got worse, I brought it in again, and this time they replaced the condenser. Very clean, orderly place, and the guys shoot straight - no vague bs or attempt to cover up what they don't know.

He is great. He is a very honest individual. He looked through his books and he told us that it was a Toyota so it didn't have a timing belt. It had a timing chain and we didn't need to change it. He told us to come back when we hit 150,000 miles. I was recommended to him by people that I work with. My wife's boss has a girlfriend who does have a Honda. Honda wanted $700.00 to do the timing belt, but Olympia did it for $500.00. What is sad now is that it is very hard to find a decent mechanic. He made an appointment and took the car in at 8 o'clock in the morning. When Eileen got out of work at 4 o'clock, whoever got the car, the car was fixed and cleaned, and they even washed all the dust off. He is an old fashioned German man. He was a step above everybody else including the dealership.

They are excellent. They are efficient and price worthy.

all work was done quick and the price was good. They called before any work was done for my OK. Car rode better after the service. I am always happy with their work. I had tryed other repair shops in Staten Island, Olympia is the only one i would use again.

I am going to take my car to them in this week since they had to order a part for the car. They are very honest and upfront. They are very accommodating. I can take my car to their auto center in the morning and they will drop me to my workplace. I will definitely use their services in the future too.

They are excellent. I have used them many times. They fixed the problem with the tire within 20 minutes and I was on my way. They have always been very helpful. If they find something they will call to see if I want to deal with it. They are very trustworthy and the price is decent.

I called for an appointment and Olympia took me immediately. They gave me an estimate of when the oil change would be done and the car was ready before hand. Thirty six dollars is higher than the high volume lube joints. When I had my last oil change at one of those places, they wanted me to spend an extra $100 on oil or air filters or something (which I declined). Olympia checked all my filters and said they were all fine. The only extra was for $3 to fill the windshield wiper fluid.

The mechanics at Olympia are always very professional. Their prices are reasonable. They seem to get the work done on time.
