When the builder completed my home in September 2017, I hired Crazy Clean NYC to clean the house and the windows. I was charged $300.00 for the windows inside and outside and a separate fee for cleaning the house. That day, when the jobs were complete, I made another appointment for house cleaning and an appointment to do the windows on May 8, 2018. I was assured that the fee would be the same. I had the company clean my home every three weeks. On Sunday, April 15th, I text Maria to confirm Monday’s appointment. She called me to inform me that she had a problem with the two girls and they would no longer be able to clean. I reminded her that I still wanted to keep my window cleaning appointment in May. It was at this time that I confirmed that the price was $300.00 and she would be sending three men, as she had in September. On May 6th, I text her to change the appointment to June, she did not have a problem with the change. On Friday June 8th, there was a text exchange and a phone call. On Sunday June 10th Monday June 11th and Wednesday June 13th we text back and forth and not once was anything mentioned about a price change. On June 14th at 8:10, Maria’s husband and his two workers came to clean the windows. They arrived two hours earlier than expected, due to their first appointment being cancelled. I was not informed of the time change. Maria’s husband set up the two men to clean the windows, then left to get more soap. During this time Maria text me “…it seems there was a misunderstanding with the price it’s 350 for just the outside 500 for the inside and outside”. We text back and forth numerous times and spoke on the phone and not once did she tell me the price was more than the $300.00 she quoted me. It wasn’t until they had the ladder up and they were cleaning the window that she wanted to know “would you still like them to do it”. It was very unprofessional given the amount of time we text and spoke that there was no mention of a price change until the ladder was up and the men were working. Maria tried to tell me that, in a text, “it’s a big job there’s a lot of windows they would be there a long time”. She knew what the house looked like yesterday, last week, last month, last year and every time I spoke with her. A professional business does not change the price at the job site. If she had a problem with the price she should have told me prior to them showing up. When I tried to explain this to her in a text, her answer was, “I notified you before they did the work…” Actually, they had already started the work. As a professional and business owner who gave a customer a price prior to arriving at the job site, the right thing to do was to say, since I already quoted you the price of $300.00, they can do it for that price this year, but next year it will be $500.00. She did not do that. Since I refused to pay the price change, she was fine with them leaving the job.
