Dell (in India ) for over an hour and a half and they could not fix it. I called Jason (this was Friday after 5PM). He said he would
rearrange his schedule to come on Monday. He arrived as scheduled and was able to get the whole system running again. He tried really hard to retrieve my data, but unfortunately he couldn't get that. I was so happy to have him here... he is a treasure. I
recommend him very highly!
enough to get myself in trouble J
--- I hold Jason in the highest regard.
I expect to call on him again as the need arises. I?m completely satisfied with his performance
in every way.
Before I found TechEase Consulting on Angie's List, I hired two online companies that guaranteed they would fix my PC remotely. Both companies offer low cost annual software repair packages and virus removal service. Both companies also offer software service via remote access. If I recall, both companies offer unlimited phone support. And here's the best part...they save you money because for one low price you get a years worth of service and don't have to pay on a call by call basis. Sounds great, right? But wait...you get what you pay for.
The first company was "Supportrix" referred to me by Linksys my router manufacturer. The other was Norton - I purchased the "Norton 360" which included software maintenance and virus removal service. Technicians from Norton and Supportrix worked on my computer like mad over the course of a week. They claimed they can handle my PC problems from a distance (a real long distance - we're talking overseas call centers). Norton had their techies on my computer every day during that week. On one of those days (a Saturday) the tech said he would complete the work and have Explorer 9 up and running in 2 hours. They started at 11 am and were still on my computer at midnight. I'm not joking. Thirteen hours. And after all that they still could not install Explorer IE 9. While they were working on my laptop, each technician had remote access and I would see them moving the cursor around and then they would go to sleep, no cursor movement at all! I had to "wake them up" by clicking on my computer and suddenly they would spring back to life and I'd see them working again. Lucky it was a slow Saturday and I was home. Supportrix was no better. Neither company had any competent technicians Every time they tried to install IE9 it defaulted back to IE 8 and both companies made my PC run slow...slow...slower. And neither Norton nor Supportrix could remove the malware/virus from the PC.
My advice? If your PC runs very slow, has malware and/or IE installation problems, why take chances? Don't try to save money using technicians from call centers from around the world. Go LOCAL and get hands-on help. These remote packages may be bargain basement but in the end I know it was not worth a minute of my time - time I can't get back. I am very happy I found Techease Consulting and will use Jason again. He is very knowledgable and experienced and answers any questions you may have. My computers are up to speed and so far so good. Thanks, Jason!
Techease was the only one who agreed to diagnose and fix the problem. The others speculated that it might be either the power supply or system board (both of which we already suspected) and advised him to call elsewhere or consider buying a new PC since it may not be cost effective to fix a 3-year old unit. Basically, they were of no help.
Techease diagnosed the problem within 3 days and ordered a new power supply which took approximately 10 days to be delivered. Today my son-in-law picked up the PC which works beautifully again. In my experience, the price for labor and replacement part was very fair.
Maybe I am being too harsh. I guess this whole generation of computer geeks has a different standard of professionalism and pride in work than did older generations of craftsmen, so you would probably have the same kind of difficulties wherever you go.
on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. I called him again Wednesday morning and he scheduled for
Wednesday afternoon. He arrived on time and was extremely nice and personable. He fixed the problem
with my computer very quickly and since he has an 1 1/2 hour minimum, he then went through both my
computer and my husband's laptop and updated everything and cleaned them up. I was delighted with
the service and would definitely call him again.
