Cousins Construction

All of the "Cousins" -Jason, Ryan and Patrick were extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire quoting and installation process. Jason was the third of three contractors I contacted for a quote, he quickly fit me in for a quote and showed up on time. Jason spent a significant amount of time discussing my options for roofing, gutters and the masonry work I needed, and at no point ever tried to push a product on me. The quote came in "on par" with the other quotes I got for the roof, but Jason was the only contractor who came in with a price on the gutters and masonry work that qualified as "fair" in my book. I was particularly picky when it came to picking a contractor to perform this work for me. I worked for contractors throughout high school and college so I have the skill set and knowledge base to do all of my own home improvement projects, but I wouldn't have been able to complete a roof replacement in a reasonable amount of time. This is the first time I've ever hired out a home improvement project, so I had a certain amount of anxiety about whether or not any contractor would be able to meet my the standard of work I expect... Cousin's crew met my expectations and surpassed them! I'm very impressed by the skill level of every member on the crew, it showcases cousins commitment to quality as well as depth of experience in their field. I would never hesitate to recommend Cousin's construction to family, friends or strangers, and I would hire them again for future work in a heartbeat. Should I need work performed in the future, Cousin's will by my first (and possibly my only) call. With respect to the actual work performed, the crew showed up for a reasonably early start time (7:15-7:30) and promptly started prepping the house for the work to be performed, including extensive tarping and plywood protection for the siding and windows. Tear off was performed quickly and installation immediately followed. All products were carefully and professionally applied and the job was finished up the same day shortly after dark. Clean up was up to my expectations, with some residual nails, screws, and debris, but I was able to quickly pick them up the following day. On a side note, I was the standard issue "curious homeowner" throughout the process, frequently asking the crew how they planned to address certain areas, certain problems, what they thought about certain products and applications, etc... and they were always happy to answer my questions and take some time to discuss things in detail. Jason unfortunately didn't make it to the job site, but Ryan and Patrick did, and both were more than happy to spend a significant amount of time chatting with me. The roof, gutters and chimney all turned out beautifully and I brag about them to anyone willing to listen. Thanks again Cousin's, you guys killed it!

They did a good job. The workers know what they are doing.

Maybe I'm wrong cause I can't climb up to see for myself but I don't think he did anything except check the roof. I don't think he filled any gaps or did small fixes at least to get me through winter. I didn't see him go up with any tools. He took just 10 - 15 minutes to look and give an estimate. The estimate seemed reasonable so I might still call him to do the roof in Spring. Note: I don't mind posting my review but ONLY IF my address is not provided.

On a date mutually agreed upon, a worker from Cousins Construction called me, told me he was running late, but would arrive in the afternoon. I told him i had set aside the whole day for him. He showed up in mid afternoon, introduced himself, climbed the ladder, spent approx 10 minutes on the roof. After he had descended, he told me that the roof looks great but that the "square roof" needs to be "rubberized." I have no idea of what he meant. He left in hurry, without performing any of the actions promised in the "deal," or performing the thorough inspection promised, and failing to call me at anytime in the week that followed.

Took a while for them to connect with me but once done, Cousins came, conducted the inspection and made minor repairs per the terms of the coupon offer. Professional and appeared to be knowledgeable. They have provided an estimate for repairs they recommended.

I decided to have Cousins replace my roof after providing me with a very competitive bid (lower than or equal to 4 others) and after reading all their positive reviews on Angie's list. They showed up early, did a great job on the roof, and did a fabulous job cleaning the site when they were done. I wasn't home while the work was being done and had some questions about the finished product. Both of the "Cousins" came out the following Saturday to explain what they had done and address any concerns I had. I work as an architect and deal with contractors every day. I would highly recommend Cousins for your construction needs and plan on using them again for my own home in the future.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it worked out very good. Nothing really stood out, they came and did what they had to. They were friendly, and very honest. They called and said they were coming, and I was waiting for them, but they were a block away at a wrong house. I thought that was funny.

Called for an estimate and the owner was there when he promised and on time!! Told the work would start in approximately 6 weeks and again, they were right on schedule. The work was done in one day!!!!!! The clean up was amazing. You couldn't even tell that workers had been there! The roof looks beautiful. My Uncle and I are very happy with the work and would use this company again without hesitation.

Cousins jumps right into the job. They showed up when they said they would. Began work right away. They were courteous to my tenants. Job was finished when they said it would be. They worked into the night! Everything has stopped leaking.

They were very prompt and courteous. I had asked them to send me written verification of inspection and the list of work done and have not gotten that yet. They sent out the estimate for a job I had asked for but not the written evaluation of my roof.

From start to finish we were very pleased with the job that was performed! We would recommend them to anyone looking to have work done! We had a few other roofing companies look at the job and none of them could touch Cousins Constriction price wise or their professionalism! We love our new roof and the fact that they are there to answer any of our questions....

25'X25' garage striped off old roofing and bad decking on a low slop roof. Replaced all bad decking and applied EDPM rubber roofing. Was all completed in one day. They do a great job, and when finished you would never know they were there. Used them on the main body of the house in the spring of 2012 and had the same experience with them. I would highly recommend them.

While they were very quick to come and check out our roof, and even agreed to do it although it was supposedly a higher roof than they normally like to do, the original price of $167 (deal that I bought) they charged us an extra $400 to replace missing tiles that we couldn't see were missing. They did show us pictures and we agreed to let them do it, but then they did not have any shngles with them and had to use some spare ones we had in our shed. It took them about 45 minutes, so considering the fact that we supplied the tiles the extra $400 (on top of the original $167 we had already paid) for 45 minutes work was quite pricey. They then wrote up a receipt on a piece of paper with no company name. I told them I needed a receipt for my insurance company, so they agreed to send me one. I called a week later because they had forgotten (and apparently lost all of my information). After giving them the information to put on the receipt I had one later that day. I was very pleased that they were prompt with that. I had also asked them the day they were here if I could get an estimate on a new roof as I need to do this next spring. They said they would come back for that. I never heard from them again. UPDATE: I originally wrote a less than satisfied review due to what I believed was an overcharge for extra work that took very little time and used our materials. I was immediately refunded the extra $400 with a letter of apology by the owner. His business is experiencing growing pains as I completely understand having a business of our own. There were positive statements that I made in my first review. I was impressed with how quickly they contacted me to do the work and how quickly they were able to get to me. I am considering using them again if I get a decent estimate on a new roof next spring. I was very impressed with the fact that they were quick to refund my money even though I didn't ask for it.

Although most of just-bought 60 year old house had been renewed recently, the sunroom section was old and started to leak during recent heavy rains. Jason examined, discussed, estimated and contracted quickly and at a reasonable price. His crew did a beautiful job over a Saturday and Sunday. When, for example, unpacking some new flashing showed denting during shipment or storage, they went back for undamaged material and used that instead. Highest professionalism -- very much appreciated!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They were very responsive and came out quickly. They were pleasant enough to talk to, but I guess my roof was in pretty good shape so I don't think they did anything other than observe it. They came out a couple of days after I purchased the Big Deal. I had been in the house a relatively short time and I wanted to have the roof checked out. They were fine. The good news is my roof is in good shape; that's a good thing. I paid $149 for somebody to tell me that.

Cousins crew showed up on the agreed to date at 8:00 AM and the first thing done was tarps were placed around the whole house area and plywood installed at all windows that were adjacent to my deck. Crew proceeded to strip existing roof down to the plywood, inspected plywood and began by installing new drip edge. Snow and Ice shield was installed at eaves and valley locations with new shingles begun at noon. Installation of new fascia boards wrapped with aluminum and installation of new soffit material was ongoing with a part of the crew. Cleanup at completion was excellent and crew finished project at 8:00PM. A total of eight mechanics were on site and did an excellent job. I have been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years and had recently retired and was impressed with this company. The original meeting for a price quote was held at the agreed to time set by the contractor, he arrived at my location and took all the time I wanted to discuss the roof project. I was quite impressed with the professionalism shown at all levels of this operation and would not hesitate to use Cousins Construction at any time for a future project.

Excellent from start to finish, They arrived on time the day scheduled and stayed until the job was done. They were professional, protected my property with tarps and plywood and cleaned up after they were done. They fixed a roof that looked terrible and had some difficult decking problems. They came prepared , had a supervisor on site (Patrick -one of the owners I believe) answered any questions I had as they proceeded. They worked until after dark with lights to finish. I dont see how you could do any better - Fair price ,excellent job, great crew.

The Contractor Did job exactly as quoted in estimate, they showed up on time and did the job in a timley manner. The contractor cleaned up all debris and did a great job

Did what they said they would do when they said they'd do it. Clean up excellent. They honored the Angies list dioscount which made the deal even better.

They were quick to get in touch. They actually came a day ahead of schedule because they had an opening. They seemed very knowledgable and thorough. Unfortunately, my roof doesn't fit the parameters of the deal so I was unable to take advantage of the offer.

They did a great time, on time called the following busy day. Told me about the recommendation about my roof. I would get them again in the future. Thank you.

I think the provider was a little overwhelmed by the response to this advertised deal. A little confusion getting them out to my property. Once they got here they were fast and professional.

Representatives of this company came to our home to do an estimate not once, but twice - and never sent an estimate. We suspect the reason is that they never submitted a bid is because we called them on some outrageous advice about what needed to be done. Example: one window sill with damage - Cousins said we needed an entirely new window, that the window was improperly installed. I replied that the window had been fine for 25 years. Other contractors said we simply needed to paint the sill - the damage was due to condensation on the glass. If they are honest, why no estimate?
